JEE Advanced 2025: 2 TG students score perfect 100 percentile
Hyderabad: Two students from Telangana, Arnav Singh and Vadlamudi Lokesh, have scored a perfect 100 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025, the results of which were declared on Monday.
A total of 1,80,422 students appeared in both papers of IIT-JEE Advanced, of which 54,378 qualified across the country. Out of the total qualified candidates, 9,404 are females and 44,974 boys. According to the results released by IIT Kanpur this year, Telangana students have done remarkable well, particularly under IIT Hyderabad zone, with around 12,946 students qualifying. Of them, Arnav Singh and Vadlamudi Lokesh bagged positions in the top 10 list and as many as 23 candidates from the state are among the top 100 rank holders.
The Top five All India Rank(AIR) holders in the IIT-Hyderabad zone --- comprising Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu states --- are Arnav Singh (secured AIR 9), Vadlamudi Lokesh ( AIR 10), Dharmana Gnana Rutvik Sai (18), Vangala Ajay Reddy (19) and Avanaganti Anirudh Reddy (20). Korikana Rasagnya secured the fourth position among female candidates, with an AIR of 78.
Toppers share their secrets
Some of the toppers shared their study methods that led to their success. Vadlamudi Lokesh, who secured AIR 10 rank in JEE Advanced, said, 'I displayed an unwavering focus throughout the last three years and that helped me to bag the 10th position. I dedicated my whole concentration to cracking JEE Mains and Advanced. 'Candidates should be consistent. Also, they should take small steps and trust the process of growing'. He aims to pursue a B Tech in Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay.
Arnav Singh, who secured AIR 9 rank in JEE Advanced, said, 'I had expected to be in the top 20 but not in the top 10th list; I did not think that I would secure the ninth position.
This has brought a pleasant surprise to me. Regarding preparation, he said, "If you have proper clarity in basic concepts and proper fundamental ideas about the subject, it will help you to secure good marks in any competitive examination.'

VIJAYAWADA 'I was fast asleep when my brother Karthikeya woke me up and broke the news of my success in the JEE exam. The house erupted in celebrations. I am still excited,' said an excited Vadlamudi Lokesh, who secured an all-India 10th rank in the JEE (Advanced) 2025 and is also the State topper. IIT-Kanpur announced the results in the early hours of Monday for the entrance exam conducted on May 18. Lokesh had appeared for the exam from the IIT Hyderabad zone and secured 317 marks, placing him in the top 10 of the Common Rank List (CRL). His father, Venkaiah Naidu, who works with a Dutch-based NGO, and mother, Sailaja, a homemaker, are elated over their son's achievement. 'Ï worked really hard and was confident that the amount of hard work I invested in my preparation for the exam, would pay off,' he says, adding that he was expecting a rank below 60. 'To know that I had done way better and had scored 10th rank came as a pleasant surprise,' he told The Hindu on Wednesday. Lokesh is keen on joining IIT-Bombay and pursue a course in Computer Science Engineering (CSE). 'My aim is to start my own company in the future and pay back to society,' says the young achiever. After completing his schooling in different places, including his primary education in Ethiopia, he joined the Narayana campus at Kanuru in Vijayawada for intermediate education. Students of IIT Hyderabad zone performed exceptionally well this year, securing five positions in the top 20. Arnav Singh from Hyderabad bagged the 9th rank with 319 marks, while Lokesh secured 10th position. Dharmana Gnana Rutvik Sai, also from Andhra Pradesh, secured 18th rank and topped in the OBC-NCL category at the national level. Vangala Ajay Reddy from Nellore stood 19th and secured first rank in the GEN-EWS category, followed by Avanaganti Anirudh Reddy, who secured 20th position.

IIT Delhi second year student found dead in hostel room
An IIT Delhi student was found dead in the college's hostel premises in New Delhi, on Wednesday, according to the police.. A call was received at Kishangarh Police Station regarding a student not opening the door of a hostel room in IIT Delhi, the police officials immediately reached the incident spot. On reaching the room, it was found that the door was locked from inside. Fire service personnel also reached the location, and upon their assistance, the door was forcibly opened. Upon entering the room, a male student, was found lying on the bed in an unconscious state. He was declared dead on the spot by IIT Doctors. During the initial enquiry, it was revealed that the deceased was a 2nd-year student of Biomechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi, according to the police. As per preliminary information, the deceased went back to his room after having dinner on Monday. On Tuesday, he was not seen or contacted by any of his fellow students, which raised suspicion. Consequently, the matter was reported to the security staff who informed the police. There were no visible external injuries found on the body. However, some vomit was observed on the floor. The Crime Team and Forensic Team were called at the spot for further investigation and examination. After the necessary legal and procedural formalities, the dead body was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
