Gogawale said he was firm on becoming tne guardian minister of Raigad, and hoisting the national flag did not make NCP minister Aditi Tatkare the guardian minister of Raigad.
Gogawale and Shiv Sena minister Dada Bhuse, who is vying to become guardian minister of Nashik district, said they should get to hoist the national flag in Raigad and Nashik, respectively, since the two districts had no guardian minister so far.

The state govt on Monday issued a circular stating that the national flag would be hoisted by NCP minister Aditi Tatkare in Raigad and BJP minister Girish Mahajan in Nashik on Independence Day on Friday.
Shiv Sena functionaries said both Shinde and Gogawale had informed the chief minister's office that they would not attend the cabinet meeting on Tuesday since they were not in the city.
The opposition MVA slammed the state govt over failing to appoint guardian ministers for Raigad and Nashik districts.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said Shinde was shown his place and claimed that the deputy chief minister had complained to Union home minister Amit Shah about the matter.
Gogawale said he would accept whatever decision the seniors had taken for the flag-hoisting. "We think that the seniors will take a decision after the flag-hoisting. Sunil Tatkare and Eknath Shinde must have met to discuss some state matters. But I did not ask what was discussed. We never ask leaders where they are going or why. I have no objection to the flag-hoisting being done by Aditi Tatkare. We have to accept the decision taken by the seniors," Gogawale said.
Shiv Sena minister Uday Samant said that no politics should be brought into national days like Independence Day.

Haryana Police IGP, CP to get prez's medal for distinguished service
Two Haryana IPS officers and 11 state police personnel were selected for President's medal for distinguished service and medal for meritorious service respectively on the occasion of Independence Day. BEST credit society served notices ahead of polls
MUMBAI: The BEST Employees' Credit Society, touted as a symbol of the much-hyped, recent alliance between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), has been served notices by the state government and the police over alleged irregularities in the cooperative. (Raju Shinde/ HT Photo) The BEST Kamgar Sena, a wing of the Sena (UBT) currently in control of the credit society, says the move is a ploy by the BJP-led Mahayuti government to muddy the waters ahead of the August 18 elections in the credit cooperative. The poll will pit the Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance against Mahayuti coalition partners, the BJP and Shiv Sena, both on the back foot in these elections. More critically, the BEST Kamgar Sena sees the move as an attempt to undermine Sena (UBT)-MNS unity, the first formal alliance between the two political parties led by the Thackeray cousins, Uddhav and Raj, leaders of the Sena (UBT) and MNS, respectively. For the upcoming polls, the Sena (UBT) will contest 18 of the 21 seats up for grabs, the MNS two seats, and the BEST SC/ST Employees Welfare Association one seat. If the alliance wins the election, the MNS will bag one more post, that of a nominated director. In contrast, the BJP and Shiv Sena led by deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde will be contesting the election as opposition parties. Now, less than a week before the polls, the credit cooperative has been served notices by the state cooperation department and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police. The first notice, dated August 13, has been served by the divisional joint registrar of co-operative societies in Mumbai. It states, 'As per the complaint application by Vivekanand Ghag and Rajendra Gore, under section 89 A of Maharashtra Cooperation Department, deputy registrar Rajendra Gaikwad has been appointed as investigation officer to conduct inquiry of records of society of year 2024-25. Jitendra Chavan will assist him and they will submit an inquiry report by August 29.' The credit society has also received a notice from the EOW, initiating an inquiry into an alleged ₹24-crore irregularity in the cooperative, on a complaint filed by Ghag. Suhas Samant, president of the BEST Kamgar Sena, slammed the Mahayuti government and BJP leaders, alleging that BJP MLC Prasad Lad has instigated the inquiry. 'For years, the BEST Kamgar Sena has been in power in the credit society. This time, however, the Sena (UBT) and MNS have entered into an alliance for the elections, which has upset Mahayuti leaders. Now the society's office-bearers have received notices. BJP MLC Prasad Lad is behind this. They want to create confusion among voters,' he said. 'But in the last audit conducted by a government auditor, the BEST Employees Credit Society received an 'A' grade and this is in the public domain. How can a credit society assigned an A grade be accused of irregularities,' asked Samant. Responding to the allegation, Prasad Lad said an inquiry will be conducted as there were irregularities in the credit cooperative. Government agencies have initiated an inquiry on the basis of a complaint filed by Ghag. The cooperation department is conducting a separate inquiry and the EOW is looking into irregularities of ₹24 crore in the credit society. Will reconsider holding PU polls if blockade continues, says DSW
1 2 Chandigarh: A deadlock over police presence inside Panjab University is still on, with no breakthrough in sight. A day after Wednesday's confrontation over police checkpoints, the blockade has not only persisted, but has now extended. On Thursday night, the blockade was extended to just before the T-point from Gate No 2, forcing anyone entering through that gate to turn left into the residential area to reach the inner campus. The earlier point, closer to the Administrative Block, were also blocked by protesters, effectively restricting movement in the sector of campus that houses several academic departments. Despite rain throughout the day, students turned up, some carrying tricolour in hand as the eve of Independence Day added symbolic colour to the sit-in. Many stayed through passing showers, holding ground at the barricades. Independence Day celebrations are scheduled for Friday morning at the Parade Ground, located barely a few minutes' walk from the main protest site. Protesters themselves held a meeting Thursday evening to decide their course of action for the event. Meanwhile, in a significant development, the Dean of Student Welfare said the ongoing blockade could force the university to speak to Chandigarh Police and reconsider holding student elections, as polls cannot be conducted without police deployment this time. An 11.30 am meeting he called to resolve the standoff was boycotted by all student parties. He said the police presence was meant solely for students' security, but protesters were creating indiscipline.
