But 25 bucks is 25 bucks, and it slashes a decent 12 percent off the handset's aforementioned list price... for the first time ever. At $174.99, you're obviously looking at an even stronger value proposition than usual, and although our Moto G (2025) review a little while back was not exactly glowing with praise, it's hard to argue with the appeal of that sleek vegan leather finish, incredibly smooth 120Hz refresh rate-supporting IPS LCD screen, and hefty 5,000mAh battery equipped with blazing fast 30W charging technology... in the sub-$200 segment. The vegan leather finish is undoubtedly one of the biggest Moto G 2025 selling points. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena Yes, it'd have been nicer if the 6.7-inch display used AMOLED tech instead of LCD or at least offered a higher resolution than 1604 x 720 pixels, but all in all, this is clearly one of the best budget 5G phones around, and its 50MP primary rear-facing camera and reasonably powerful MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor only make that more obvious and difficult to deny. The big question you need to ask yourself before pulling the trigger here (at either Best Buy or Motorola's official US website) is whether or not Samsung's $200 Galaxy A16 5G (which can occasionally be found at $175 or less) will make you happier than the Moto G (2025). The design is clearly inferior on the humblest 2025 member of the Galaxy A family available stateside, and the same goes for things like charging speeds. But the Galaxy A16 rocks a surprisingly high-quality Super AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate technology and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and the long-term software support is always better on Samsung phones compared to their Motorola rivals. Tough decision, eh?

A new Google Photos feature could make photo editing feel like texting a friend
If you are using an Android phone – or better yet, a Pixel phone or Galaxy phone – you are probably already swimming in AI features thanks to Google's full-on Gemini takeover. The company has been stuffing its AI into just about every product it owns and naturally, Google Photos hasn't been left out. Google Photos is hugely popular on both Android and iOS and it already offers some cool generative AI tools like Magic Editor, Magic Eraser and Reimagine. But now, it looks like there's another one on the way – and this one sounds even more hands-off. The new feature might be called 'Help me edit' and it's exactly what it sounds like: instead of poking through menus, you just type what kind of edit you want, and Gemini takes care of the rest. You can drop in whatever instructions you want – like tweaking colors or changing the mood of a photo – and Gemini will do the magic for you. You'll also get suggestions from Google Photos itself if you're not sure where to start. That T-Mobile freebie you've been waiting for has been delayed for 'unknown reasons'
You probably never expected a water bottle to make not one and not two but three different headlines (in the space of just a few weeks) on a website primarily dedicated to phones and other (sophisticated) mobile devices, but here I am, giving you the news I know so many of you are interested in and nobody wanted to hear today. This is definitely not the world's most valuable freebie, but it will certainly come in handy... at some point. A different source on Reddit (who also seems to know what he's talking about) claims "shipment delay issues" are behind the highly unusual last-minute change. In other words, T-Mo may have had trouble procuring enough water bottles to satisfy your presumably sky-high demand, so instead of potentially running out of inventory within minutes of launching the deal today, a move to "either August 5 or August 12" was decided. That definitely sounds like a wise call, even though it makes this week's T-Mobile Tuesdays slate wholly unexciting... just like so many other past collections of similar goodies and offers. It remains to be seen now if this unexpected delay will impact in any way the other big gift T-Mobile is planning to give all customers with no strings attached on August 26. Probably not, but it might be smart to not take anything for granted yet.
