The Other Bennet Sister co-stars Ruth Jones and Richard E Grant took a trip around Barry Island.
Hollywood actor and Gavin and Stacey super fan Richard E Grant, has finally taken a tour around Barry Island Although, he didn't have any old tour guide, one of the sitcom's stars decided to take the actor around the show's filming locations.
Ruth Jones, who played the famous Nessa Shanessa Jenkins and also co-wrote the series alongside James Corden, popped down to the Island to show here new friend around. Richard and Ruth have recently been announced as part of the cast of The Other Bennet Sister, a new BBC drama inspired by Jane Austen. You can read more here.
The Saltburn star shared a video of himself in the town on Instagram. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
He said: "Am finally working with Ruth Jones in Wales and she generously gave me a tour of the @gavinandstaceytv locations this morning, helped by Marko! LUSH."
In the video Richard says, "I'm here, in Barry with...", before panning the camera over to Ruth. He continued to say: "I'm at the house. Oh my god."
The video itself shows an excited Richard showcasing the house and street where the comedy sitcom was filmed. He also took a little walk across the road to Uncle Bryn's house, before finishing his tour down Barry Island's beach and Marco's cafe.

Richard then opened up about why the TV series means so much to him. He said, rather choked up: "Really emotional being here. The last moments of my wife's life we watched Gavin and Stacey on repeat, and it just cheered us up endlessly. And I'm in Barry."
His late wife Joan Washington, passed away on September, 2 2021, after being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer.
Fans flocked to the comments to share how happy they were for the actor as he visited the filming locations of his favourite show. One person said: "Oh goodness this has made my day, possibly my week! Wonderful Richard."
Another added: "I felt emotional watching and seeing you reliving special memories. I watch Gavin and Stacey all the time especially if emotions are in need! I would love to someday visit. What a dream come true that would be. Thank you for taking us along."
The video finished with Ruth, saying "Oh Rich what's occurin'", in classic Nessa style.

The actor is a long time fan of sitcom, and has even expressed how he would have loved to be a part of the show. Earlier this year, Richard shared his feelings on BBC Radio 2 talking to Scott Mills about how he wished he had been asked to be one of Nessa's love interests.
On the show, presenter Scott Mills asked Richard who he would have liked to have been on Gavin and Stacey, to which he replied: 'One of Nessa's former partners.' You can read more here.

Kathy Beale actor Gillian Taylforth has opened up about her long-running EastEnders character and her time on the BBC soap opera as the show celebrates its 40th anniversary year Long-running EastEnders star Gillian Taylforth says she wishes she was more feisty and fearless like her iconic soap character Kathy Beale. The actress has been a part of the BBC show since its first episode, firmly establishing herself as fans favourite thanks to her character's no nonsense attitude. Whilst she says some things - like her voice - are indistinguishable, Gillian, 69, says there are others that are quite different. "Sometimes I wish I was a bit more like Kathy – she has a lot of opinions, and I'm one of those people who sits on the fence," admits Gillian. "I'm not that strong-minded, but she is and I love that. "She's got a great sense of humour, too – that's something we share. When I'm out and about, people shout 'Kathy!' at me. And if people don't recognise me to start with, as soon as I talk, they know it's me – it's the deep voice!" As the show celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, so does Gillian, as one of the few stars to have survived four decades. She returned to the show in 2015 after being presumed dead since 2006, making a surprise appearance in a live episode celebrating the show's 30th anniversary. She came back full time and reunited with her on-screen son Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, 56. Opening up on their tearful reunion and unbreakable bond, Gillian says they are like mum and son off set as well as on. "I have amazing relationships with everyone at EastEnders, but there's something special with Adam," she said. "He's played my son for 40 years, and he never calls me by my name, it's always 'Mum', even when we're not on set, and he's 'Son' to me. "We've got a close bond – he can see if I've forgotten my lines, and he'll say them to remind me. The moment we reunited when Kathy came back, there were tears everywhere – it was a magical moment." A much-loved fan favourite, her co-stars also love Gillian, who says she's the life and soul of the party on set. "My nickname at work is Jukebox Gilly as I'm always bursting into song!" she told. During her 10 year break from EastEnders, mum-of-two Gillian explored other telly projects, appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, Footballers' Wives and Hollyoaks. But she says none compared to Albert Square. "EastEnders has always been my favourite place to work," she beamed. "I loved The Bill, Footballers' Wives and Hollyoaks. I got to do plays and a musical and other things that were lovely. But EastEnders has always been in my heart, because that's where I feel I became who I am. "This wonderful character, Kathy, was always a big part of me. So when I was invited back for the 30th anniversary, I was overjoyed to have Kathy back in my life." Gillian has been a part of some of EastEnders' most high-profile storylines. Kathy was the victim of rape in 1988 episodes and Gillian recalled how it had a huge impact on her. "One storyline that really stuck with me was Kathy's rape in 1988. [Kathy was raped by bar owner James Willmott-Brown, played by William Boyde.] "That was really dark. I went home every night to sort through the material and figure out exactly how I'd play each moment – and when you're reading it all the time, and rehearsing, you want to forget about it straight away because it's such an awful subject. "But it was a great honour to be trusted with that storyline, and I wanted to do it justice. So many girls wrote in to say it had happened to them, and I knew that the show was reaching a lot of people who needed it." Looking for advice on keeping cool and calm in the heat, one viewer took to Morning Live's WhatsApp line on Monday. Consumer champion Matt Allwright was the first to respond, sharing a handy hack he's used for years. Appearing in a video from his home, the presenter said: 'It's a real challenge to stay cool, but I'm going to show you a tip that I learned from doing lots and lots of music festivals. You take a bandana like this and imagine these are ice cubes borrowed from the bar.' He turned the camera to show his desk, where he had neatly laid out a navy blue bandana. Matt then placed teabags, replacing ice cubes for the demonstration, down the centre of the bandana. (Image: BBC) The BBC star folded half of the bandana over the 'ice cubes' and began rolling it into one long tube with the 'ice cubes' in the centre. He continued: 'You roll it up and put it around your neck. 'That ice water drips down and keeps you cool for the whole day. I hope it works for you, it worked for me on a lot of occasions.' He proudly added, pointing to his new neckpiece: 'Glastonbury 2019, that was a hot one, but the bandana kept me cool. Good luck!' Returning to the presenters in the studio, Gethin Jones remarked: 'Looks good on him too to be fair, fashion statement.' But his co-host Holly Hamilton pointed out what could be a major flaw. She said: 'But close up, if he starts dripping next to you, you might be a little bit worried.' Gethin joked: 'But that's okay in Glastonbury!' If you're not looking to leak on fellow festival goers this summer, Boots Superintendent Pharmacist Claire Nevinson also shared some top tips to stay cool starting with a reminder to have sun protection like shade and sunscreen. Claire added: 'If you're out and about take a cooling spray or mist with you to help keep your face and body cool and refresh skin in the warmer weather. If you're at home and have an electric fan, put some ice cubes in a bowl in front of it which will help to circulate ice cold air.' Staying hydrated is also vital in hotter weather. Claire recommended: 'Aim to drink a glass of water soon after waking and continue to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Carry a reusable bottle with you and avoid excess alcohol as this will dehydrate you.'
