Shah Rukh Khan is known as the King of Bollywood, a title he has earned through his remarkable professional achievements. Now, carrying forward his legacy, his daughter Suhana Khan has also stepped into Bollywood, while his son Aryan Khan is preparing to explore direction. Gauri Khan is also associated with the industry through Red Chillies Entertainment. However, very few people know about Shah Rukh Khan's real sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh Khan. She stays away from the limelight, but like a mother, she remains a constant and caring presence in her brother Shah Rukh's life. Who is Shah Rukh Khan's sister?
Shahnaz Lalarukh Khan is an educated and intelligent woman, holding both an MA and an LLB degree. However, her life was deeply affected by the death of her father, Mir Taj Mohammad Khan. A tragic aspect of her life is the untimely passing of both her parents, which changed her world forever and she dealt with depression. She prefers to stay away from fame and lives with Khan's family in their Mumbai home.
Shah Rukh once shared in an old interview that when their father passed away, Shahnaz stood silently in front of his body. She neither cried nor said a word, she just kept staring, and then suddenly fainted and collapsed.
This incident had a profound impact on Shahnaz's mental health. For the next two years, she neither spoke nor cried; she would simply sit and stare in silence. Shah Rukh said that his sister's world had changed, after which he supported his sister at every step.
SRK said in an interview, 'She didn't cry, she didn't say anything, she just fell and hit her head on the ground. For two years after that, she didn't cry, she didn't speak, she just kept looking into space.'
Another anecdote is that while Shah Rukh Khan was shooting for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in Switzerland, Shehnaz was seriously ill and had been admitted to the hospital. The doctors had described her condition as critical, but Shah Rukh took her to Switzerland for treatment. Shahnaz Lalarukh Khan was academically more qualified than her brother Shah Rukh Khan
SRK has mentioned in numerous interviews, that she was very well educated. She was sent to Oxford for her law degree and she is 100 times smarter than him.
SRK in the same intereview said, 'So, a part of me keeps on working round the clock, keeps on being happy despite the things that are said about me or they make a joke about things that I do but still keep doing them because if I do not, I think I would be in the same state of potassium deficiency and depression. So, to avoid depression, I act', he quoted.

Before War 2 Vs Coolie, A Look At 5 Epic Box Office Clashes Of All Time

With advance bookings for both War 2 and Coolie being underway, the competition has grown even more fierce The Independence Day box office clash between the two most anticipated films, Rajinikanth's Coolie and Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2, is buzzing. With advance bookings for both films being underway, the competition has grown even more fierce. While Coolie dominates early bookings, it's still too early to predict who will have the last smile. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role, Coolie boasts a powerhouse cast including Shruti Hassan, Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Aamir Khan. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan is all set to reprise his role as Major Kabir for the last time in the Ayan Mukherji-directed War 2. Alongside Hrithik Roshan, the film stars Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in prominent roles. Both these films will release on August 14. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha vs Lagaan (2001) These two period films proved that clashes between two Bollywood films do not have to result in losses for one of the two films. While Sunny Deol's Gadar was the bigger box office winner, earning more than Rs 43 crore, Aamir Khan-starrer Lagaan made it to the top five nominations for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards for 2001, despite earning Rs 25 crore at the box office. Don vs Jaan-E-Maan (2006) Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's box office clash in 2006 was the most anticipated clash for movie lovers. While Shah Rukh Khan's remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 film earned more than Rs 24 crore at the box office, Salman Khan's romantic drama co-starring Preity Zinta and Akshat Kumar collected only Rs 12 crore. Dunki vs Salaar (2023) Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki and Prashanth Neel's Salaar clashed at the box office during Christmas 2023. While fans thought the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo would deliver a masterpiece, the audiences were disappointed in the end with the Rs 212.42 crore box office collection. On the other hand, Salaar did an exceptional job at the box office, earning Rs 404 crore. Saawariya vs Om Shanti Om (2007) During Diwali 2007, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya marked the debut of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer retro saga Om Shanti Om introduced Deepika Padukone. While Saawariya managed to collect Rs 24 crore, Om Shanti Om triumphed with nearly Rs 70 crore at the box office. Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani (2015) Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SRK clashed at the box office again in 2015. Despite facing multiple controversies, Bajirao Mastani, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, earned Rs 184.2 crore at the box office, while Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale collected Rs 148.72 crore. Anand Mahindra shares little-known fact about Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's 'Om Shanti Om': 'Fire scene shot at actual fire-ravaged site in Mumbai'

Anand Mahindra revealed that Om Shanti Om's iconic fire sequence, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, was filmed at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills, a location with a fiery past. Action director Sham Kaushal shared that the scene used real flames, making the shoot extremely stressful and dangerous for the cast and crew. The film marked Deepika Padukone's debut. Almost 17 years after Om Shanti Om lit up the big screen, a fascinating behind-the-scenes detail about its iconic fire sequence has come to light. Anand Mahindra recently revealed that the dramatic scene — where Shah Rukh Khan 's Om risks his life to save Deepika Padukone 's Shantipriya — was filmed at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills, a location with its own fiery past and eerie reputation. Connection between film and location At the event, Mahindra revealed that the location held a special connection to Om Shanti Om. He noted that Shah Rukh Khan chose to film the fire sequence at Mukesh Mills, possibly inspired by its own history — the site had once been destroyed in a fire, mirroring the film's storyline of flames and reincarnation. He also pointed out that Shah Rukh had ridden a luxury bike in his 1994 hit Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, adding that the actor has a fondness for the brand — making the motorcycle's launch at Mukesh Mills all the more fitting. No VFX, only real flames In an earlier interview with Hindi Rush, action director Sham Kaushal revealed that no VFX was used for the scene at the time — the fire was real. The set housed SRK, Deepika, three cameramen, and about 60 crew members from his team, making it nearly 100 people inside a burning set. An extremely stressful shoot He further shared that the shoot was extremely stressful, as the fire had to be extinguished within seconds of being lit to avoid any mishap. A single mistake could have led to disaster. Kaushal admitted there were moments when he stepped aside to cry on set, feeling so overwhelmed that he feared he might suffer a heart attack. Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan , released in 2007 and marked Deepika Padukone's acting debut. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, the film also starred Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal, and Kirron Kher in key roles.

Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om fire scene was shot at a location that was ‘destroyed' in fire itself, reveals Anand Mahindra

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's Om Shanti Om remains a fan favourite, even nearly two decades after its release. A scene in which Om tries to save Shantipriya from being engulfed by flames on set was shot at Mumbai's Mukesh Mills. The mill has a spooky reputation, with several film industry perosnalities recalling stories. The chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, Anand Mahindra, Anupam Thareja and Boman Rustomji Irani. recently graced the stage for the launch of new 2025 Yezdi Roadster motorcycle at the Mukesh Mills. At the event, Anand Mahindra said. 'What I love about this is… I think most of you know that this was very intricately linked to Om Shanti Om. This is where Shah Rukh chose to film it. And there was very good reason, maybe even he was inspired by the history of this plot which suffered a fire and was destroyed, and that was a part of the plot. So, the plot of Om Shanti Om in fact involved fire and reincarnation,' he said. He also recalled that the superstar even used the Yezdi in his 1994 hit film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. 'And frankly, that's exactly what we are here to do. I am sure Shah Rukh is going to be happy because he used the Yezdi in one of his earliest films Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. He really likes this brand,' Anand added. ALSO READ | Yuvika Chaudhary made a mess of her 'Ek chutki sindoor' dialogue in Om Shanti Om, but didn't get scolded by Farah Khan: 'Sabko daant padti thi' During an interview with Hindi Rush earlier, action-director Sham Kaushal was asked about this action scene in the film. 'No VFX was used around that time, so we had to light the fire on that set. It had Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, three camerapersons, and around 60 members of my unit inside the set. So, there were a total of 100 people inside the set that was on fire,' he shared in Punjabi. He added, 'I was immensely stressed out during that shoot, I don't know how to explain it because one had to be careful. One had to make sure to put off the fire within seconds of lighting it. If someone commits a mistake anywhere, it could end on a disastrous note. I swear by God, there were so many times I'd go to the side and start crying on set. I felt I'd have a heart attack.' Om Shanti Om was directed by Farah Khan and hit the big screens in 2007. The movie also marked the acting debut of Deepika Padukone. Besides Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, the film also featured Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal, and Kirron Kher in pivotal roles.
