Raid 2 box office collection day 1: Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid 2, which was released in cinemas on Thursday, has had a strong opening at the box office. The film earned Rs 18.25 crore nett on its first day, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This has made Raid 2 the third-biggest opener of the year after the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava, which made Rs 31 crore, and the Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar, which made Rs 26 crore.
The overall occupancy on Thursday was observed at around 34 percent. In the Delhi -NCR region, Raid 2 had over 1100 shows with around 23 percent occupancy, and in the Mumbai region, with around 900 shows, the occupancy was around 52 percent.

This is Ajay's first release of 2025. In 2024, he was seen in Singham Again, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Maidaan and Shaitaan. Of these four films, Shaitaan was seen as a clear hit as the film made around Rs 148 crore at the box office, after opening at around Rs 14.75 crore. Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, which also starred Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and many other stars, was built up as the 'Avengers of Rohit Shetty's cop universe' and made with a humungous budget but its clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 proved disadvantageous for both films. Releasing on Diwali weekend, Singham Again made Rs 43.5 crore on opening day , and finished its run with a lifetime nett collection of Rs 248 crore.
His other two releases of the year sank without a trace. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, directed by Neeraj Pandey, started its box office journey with just Rs 1.85 crore and managed to make only Rs 11.5 crore during its entire run. Maidaan, directed by Amit Sharma, started its box office journey with just Rs 2.6 crore, and made Rs 53 crore.
Last week's Ground Zero, starring Emraan Hashmi, has not managed to captivate the audience. Akshay Kumar's Kesari 2, which has been in the theatres for two weeks, earned Rs 1.8 crore on its 14th day. The film has made Rs 74.75 crore at the box office so far.
Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, is a sequel of the 2018 film. The original film made around Rs 10 crore on its opening day and finished its run at around Rs 103 crore. It seems like Raid 2 could perform better than the original. Raid 2 does not have much competition at the screens currently.

Did Deepika Padukone's Rs 25 crore fee and 10 per cent profit share demand lead to her exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit'? Here's what we know

's sudden departure from 's highly anticipated film 'Spirit', starring , sparked a flurry of speculation last month. The buzz began when reports suggested that the actress had demanded an 8-hour workday, a profit-sharing clause, and remuneration to the tune of Rs 20 crore, which was not acceptable to the makers. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now New reports now claim that the issue escalated when Deepika asked for Rs 25 crore and a 10 per cent profit share. Deepika demanded Rs 25 crore and a 10 per cent profit share According to News18, a source close to the production revealed that Deepika's team is struggling to come to terms with her replacement and is conveniently spinning her exit as a 'work-life balance' decision. 'The actor had reportedly demanded Rs 25 crore for approximately 35 days of shoot, along with a 10% profit share, extensive entourage expenses, and even expressed unwillingness to deliver dialogues in Telugu — something the director felt strongly about. To top it off, confidential plot details from Spirit were allegedly leaked, which raised serious concerns among the producers,' the source revealed. Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff at Mumbai Airport Deepika's 8 hour workday demand was never an issue The source further added that Deepika's 8-hour workdays were not a sticking point, although it has now gained attention. 'In filmmaking, working hours are fluid and depend on location, lighting, and various technical factors. You could shoot for 2 hours or 8, depending on the scene. What truly matters is flexibility, collaboration, and respect for the craft,' the source added. Refused to deliver dialogue in Telugu The question of dialogue delivery also became a point of contention. Reddy Vanga reportedly places high value on actors delivering their own lines to preserve the emotional integrity of a scene. The insider also criticised the wider narrative being shaped in the media around work-life balance without knowing the facts. They called it unfair, as it fails to understand the repercussions a production or director can face. 'It's about unreasonable demands, lack of adaptability, and unprofessional conduct,' they stated. Triptii Dimri 's entry Following Deepika's unexpected exit, Sandeep announced Triptii Dimri as the new leading lady of Spirit. He also shared a cryptic note on his social media, calling out the integrity of 'feminism' and 'dirty PR games.'

Housefull 5A & 5B: Discover the two epic endings of Akshay Kumar's film – which one will you choose?

Akshay Kumar returns to comedy, but in a new avatar with Housefull 5. But how you ask? Because the new instalment of the Housefull franchise is a murder mystery this time. The twist doesn't end here. Released on June 6, the film comes with not one, but two different endings -something different for the audience this time. Released as Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each version offers a different climax with a different killer; a double dose of fun, chaos, and confusion. So, which one is the right pick for you? Housefull 5 sets sail on a luxury cruise where a billionaire celebrates his birthday. But the fun takes a deadly turn when the birthday boy (played by Ranjeet) is mysteriously found dead, right after declaring he'll leave his fortune to someone named Jolly. The catch? There are three Jollys on the ship—played by Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan—and all three, along with their glamorous girlfriends (played by Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, and Nargis Fakhri respectively), land on the suspect list. Blending mindless comedy with the franchise's signature spirit, the film comes in two versions. Each one has a different killer and alternate ending, elevating viewers' experience. While the first two hours of Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B remain the same, it's the last 20 minutes which sets the climax apart. Reportedly, both versions of the film are getting nearly equal screen space at theatres. Most multiplexes seem to be running two shows each of Housefull 5A and 5B per screen. The film is majorly clashing with Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, which was released in theatres on June 5. Going by online reviews from fans and critics, Housefull 5 has received a mixed response. Talking about Housefull 5A, a user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, 'Housefull 5A is my favourite film this year! Redefining the limits of cinema. Proud to have seen this piece of art. Can literally not imagine how they made it, it is insane that so much money was invested to pull this off. Now give me my money back.' 'Just watched #Housefull5A and it's literally a house full of laughter, madness, and non-stop fun,' added another. After watching Housefull 5B, one more wrote in an impromptu review: 'I watched #Housefull5B. It's so good. Khiladi back on his way.' 'Some insights on #Housefull5 A and #Housefull5 B. A is more of a comedy, with a light-hearted climax presented in comic way. B follows a Darker tone and ends with a serious climax (sic).' Previously, Akshay Kumar had advised viewers to watch the film two times, one version each time for better understanding. The idea of having two different climaxes is said to be a fun strategy to maximise profits. It may also boost footfall in the theatres. At the trailer launch of Housefull 5, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had said that a film with two different endings was something that hadn't 'happened anywhere else in the world'. He added that he had been toying with the idea for the last 30 years. "I've written a story [Housefull] where every theatre will have a different killer. So, if you watch it at Gaiety, it'll have one killer. If you watch it at Galaxy, there'll be another. In PVR screen number 4, you'll see a different killer, and in PVR screen number 5, yet another one. It's like every time you watch the film, you'll get a different ending," he had said. Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani. It stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma. The film marks one of the widest releases in Akshay Kumar's career, with 5,000 screens nationwide.

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection day 1: Decent start for Akshay Kumar's film, crosses ₹13 crore on opening day

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection day 1: The much-awaited film, Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar and his gang released in cinema on Friday. Off to a decent start, the murder mystery has crossed ₹ 13 crore at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 has so far minted ₹ 13.81 crore. However, these are the real-time updates from morning and afternoon. The final figures will be out after 10 pm. If the film maintains similar momentum during the evening and night shows, its total earnings could potentially double by the end of the day. Housefull 5 had an overall 20.93% Occupancy on Friday in 2D format. The 3D format saw an occupancy of 10.76% on June 06, 2025. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Ahmedabad had the highest occupancy with the highest number of screenings for the film in all formats. Following closely is Pune, Bengaluru and Surat on the list. Overall, the film has done better business than expected. Going by its advance sales booking, the film was set to premiere with ₹ ₹ 6.87 crore gross earnings (including the blocked seats). Housefull 5 is clashing with the Hindi version of Kamal Haasan's Thug Life which was released a day ahead of Housefull 6. Thug Life, however, has received an underwhelming response. On the other hand, both the films are also clashing with Maddock Films' Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ''HOUSEFULL 5' IS AKSHAY KUMAR'S WIDEST OVERSEAS RELEASE... The much-awaited #Housefull5 has released in… 85+ countries 1300+ locations 2000+ screens.' He also reviewed the film and called it 'Dhamaal'. "#OneWordReview… #Housefull5: DHAMAAL. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ The #Housefull franchise returns with a bang – this time, it's bigger, louder, and crazier... A paisa-vasool entertainer with madness, a thrilling climax, and mass-moments galore. #Housefull5Review. First things first: In a film like #Housefull5, logic takes a backseat... The key is to surrender yourself to the craziness and enjoy the rollercoaster ride. 'Director #TarunMansukhani infuses fresh energy into the franchise, while retaining the essence that fans have loved over the years... #HF5 continues the series' tradition of over-the-top humour, madcap storytelling, and visual extravaganza. The writing is peppered with witty one-liners, quirky twists, and cleverly staged gags... In short, #HF5 strikes the right balance between madness and masala,' his post read. Taran also mentioned what did not work in the film for him. He added, 'Minus points? A few jokes feel dated and forced. Some supporting characters are underutilized. The post-interval screenplay could've been tighter.'
