Strictly Come Dancing announces Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis legend as 12th star
After being revealed on Thursday's edition of This Morning, Stefan told hosts Emma Willis and Craig Doyle: "I'm very excited to be doing something completely and utterly out of my comfort zone but because of that, I'm petrified." He added that British viewers will be "sick of" him eventually as Neighbours will also be airing until the end of the year.
He added that he's had advice from co-star April Rose Pengilly, who has taken part in Australia's Dancing with the Stars. "She said, 'Every night I put ice packs all over my body,'" he revealed. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025.
Outside of Neighbours, Stefan has taken on roles in Prisoner, The Henderson Kids, The Sullivans, Young Doctors and Sons and Daughters. As for UK shows, Stefan has credits in The Bill, Dream Team, River City and Casualty.
Stefan said in a statement ahead of the competition beginning: "This is an opportunity for me to once again learn to step out of my comfort zone in the world of television. Looking forward to the sparkle and reaching for the sky."
Earlier in the programme, Vicky Pattison, who is best known for starring on Geordie Shore, had been announced as the 11th celebrity to be hitting the dancefloor. She said: "I'm buzzing like a an old fish but I'm really nervous as well. I've never done anything like this before, I'm opening up to a whole new audience as well. I'm terrified. Can you tell? I'm terrified."

Leonard And Hungry Paul, produced by Subotica, is based on the award-winning, best-selling novel of the same name by Rónán Hession and has been adapted for BBC One Northern Ireland, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer by writers Richie Conroy and Mark Hodkinson. Set to air this Autumn the feel-good series follows two board-gaming friends in their thirties; Leonard, a ghost writer of children's encyclopaedias, and Hungry Paul, a part-time postal worker who still lives at home, who meander through leafy suburban life finding solace in their quiet routines. The unexpected death of Leonard's mother, the approaching wedding of Hungry Paul's sister and a tentative new romance for Leonard, prompts both men to meet a world that is suddenly wider and full of unfamiliar possibilities. It is set to star Alex Lawther (The End Of The F***ing World, ALIEN: EARTH) as Leonard, Laurie Kynaston (Fool Me Once, Sandman) as Hungry Paul and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell (Derry Girls, Screw) as Shelley. Dame Vera Lynn's audition records to be released 90 years on
Dame Vera Lynn's audition records are to be released for the first time, 90 years after they were first late singer's first records were discovered when her daughter, Virginia Lewis-Jones, donated her mother's record collection to the British Library's Sound donations were made when she moved out of her home in East Sussex, where Dame Vera had lived with her husband Harry Lewis for 40 with the three silver aluminium audition records, which are labelled by hand, a copy of Dame Vera's first record, It's Home, recorded in 1935 with bandleader Howard Baker, was also found. Recorded after trumpeter Baker invited Dame Vera to join his band in 1933, the first record is one of just 100 copies said: "It's so wonderful to hear Ma's voice from those early days, right at the start of her career."I always had the feeling these would be worth exploring so I am absolutely thrilled that the audition tapes we've never heard can now be brought to life, and add significantly to what we already know about Ma." Narinder Kaur criticises BBC's decision to cast Thomas Skinner on Strictly
TV personality Narinder Kaur has criticised the BBC's decision to cast Thomas Skinner as a celebrity contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. Skinner recently met US vice president JD Vance for a barbecue and drinks, and befriended US President Donald Trump's number two on social media platform X. He recently claimed he had received 'death threats' and 'vile comments about my children', following a series of social media posts claiming 'something's gone wrong' in the UK, and saying 'there is nothing wrong with being proud of where you're from'. In other posts, which drew criticism from some of his followers, Skinner said it is 'not far-right' to be 'flying your flag and loving your country', and he complained 'it ain't safe out there anymore' in London, saying the city is 'hostile' and 'tense'. It comes as Kaur claimed she was told she was 'too controversial' for the show herself. In the caption of a video posted to X, Jeremy Vine panellist and former Big Brother star Kaur, 52, said: 'Apparently I was deemed too controversial for @bbcstrictly because they only hire quiet brown and black women that fit in a box. 'But you can be a white man AND be controversial and you'll be hired on the spot! Hello Thomas Skinner!!' In a statement, she added: 'There's only so much you can say in a short video, but I felt something many others have been feeling all day and that was complete shock and utter bewilderment – to see Thomas be announced in the line-up, considering all the rhetoric about how people with right-wing opinions are cancelled and not allowed on the BBC. The line-up is completed by Love Island winner Dani Dyer-Bowen, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, and former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
