Kyren Williams secures new deal with Rams as team locks him in through 2028
On August 5, 2025, the Los Angeles Rams made a major decision. They signed running back Kyren Williams to a new contract. He was going into the last year of his rookie deal, but now, he's staying with the team for much longer.
What started as a quiet Tuesday morning turned into a big moment for both the player and the team.
Kyren Williams signs three-year, $33 million deal
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Rams and Williams agreed to a three-year contract worth $33 million, with $23 million guaranteed. This deal means Kyren Williams is now signed through the 2028 season.
He was going to earn about $5.35 million this year, but this new contract locks him in as the team's main running back.
His average of $11 million per year puts him among the top-paid running backs in the league.
Kyren Williams' role and motivation
Kyren Williams, a fifth-round pick in 2022 from Notre Dame, has worked hard to become one of the Rams' most important players.
In 2024, he rushed for 1,299 yards, scored 14 touchdowns, and was chosen for the Pro Bowl. Since joining the team, he has put up 2,582 rushing yards and 31 total touchdowns across 38 games.
