Angels first baseman Schanuel leaves game vs. Phillies after being hit by pitch on left arm
Schanuel appeared to take a changeup from Phillies starter Ranger Suarez off the upper wrist or forearm area of his left arm in the first inning. He hurried down the first base line in obvious pain. After being checked by a trainer, Schanuel remained in the game.
Schanuel did not play the field in the bottom of the inning. LaMonte Wade Jr. replaced him at first base, batting second.
Schanuel is hitting .274 with eight home runs and 40 RBIs through 95 games in this, his third season.
There was no immediate word on the details of Schanuel's injury.

He crashed his Tesla Cybertruck into a tree, smoke filled the front cabin and the doors wouldn't open. He spent nearly 10 minutes in the burning vehicle before bystanders helped pull him to safety. Arenas was in the hospital for six days but did not suffer major injuries. He is a five-star recruit and 2025 McDonald's All-American. The 2024 John R.
