Sophie Turner hits back at claims she ‘forgot' children at Oasis concert

Metro2 days ago
Sophie Turner has blasted her critics after being called out for simply enjoying an Oasis gig.
The 29-year-old former Game of Thrones star – who has daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with ex husband Joe Jonas – recently revealed she'd enjoyed a night out at the Britpop legends' ongoing reunion tour.
Last week, Sophie shared some photos and videos from her night at one of the Wonderwall band's recent Wembley Stadium gigs.
'Bucket hats & beers…. That'll do me. Thank you @levis,' she captioned the innocuous post.
However, that was enough for her to be mum-shamed by a troll in the comments, who claimed she had 'forgotten' her children by daring to have an evening out.
'Lmfao. I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,' they commented in something of an overreaction.
Sophie replied: 'Ah I'm so sorry sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves.
'So… Get this…There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.'
That answers that then.

Sophie's ex Joe filed for divorce in September 2023, and despite a tense legal battle the couple later reached a custody agreement.
They said at the time: 'After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK.
'We look forward to being great co-parents.'
Despite the initial disagreements, the couple have moved on to do what's best for their children, and Joe has spoken openly about Sophie as a positive role model for their girls.
In May, he told Jay Shetty: 'Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true. As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them.
'I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.' More Trending
Just last month, the Jonas Brothers singer revealed he and his ex have a 'great co-parenting relationship'.
He told the School of Greatness podcast: 'I have a great co-parenting relationship, which is really important to me.'
He described being a father to his 'beautiful' children as 'the greatest joy and journey', while praising the influence Sophie has on their kids.
He added: 'My little ones have some incredible women to look up to, including their mom.'

Demi Lovato's full-circle moment: Fans insist 'she's in her best era yet' after reuniting with Joe Jonas with glowing new look following THAT 2010 plane fight on Jonas Brothers tour which led to her famous breakdown

's career went full-circle over the weekend as she reunited with her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas following her plane fight on the Jonas Brothers tour in 2010 which ultimately led to her famous breakdown. Fans are obsessing over newly-married Demi's glowing new look, insisting she's 'in her best era yet' after overcoming addiction battles, a devastating break-up in 2021 and a nervous breakdown in 2011. Demi, 32, sent fans wild when she made a surprise cameo and performed songs from Disney Channel movie Camp Rock with Joe, 35, Kevin, 37, and Nick, 32, as the musical trio kicked off their 20th anniversary tour in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium. But as well as the iconic reunion, Demi's remarkable transformation has been the talk of the town ever since she graced the stage. Fans say Demi has 'never looked and sounded better' while also noticing how 'happy and healthy' she appeared. One fan said it was 'emotional' to see Demi look 'so happy, in tune with herself and just healing nicely', after a string of hardship. The tweet read: 'After everything demi has been through, and after being a fan of hers for so long, it is so f****** emotional to see her so happy, so in tune with herself, and just healing nicely. she deserves the absolute world'. Other fans added on X: 'Demi making new music, in peace with herself and her past, reunited with the jonas, looking amazing, in love... WHAT A TIME TO BE A LOVATIC', 'Hearing demi lovato singing "I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be" in 2025 being the best and happiest version of herself is everything I ever wanted and needed btw', 'i will always be so endlessly proud of demi. she's truly healed and nothing and no one can ever take that away from her. it's the most beautiful thing in the whole world to witness', 'demi lovato 's new era has officially started', 'I HAVE NO WORDS, THIS IS HER BEST ERA SINCE BTW, I AM SHAKING OMG'. Demi previously opened up about her mid-air altercation with a back-up dancer on a plane and her decision to finally seek help for self-harming, multiple eating disorders and bipolar in 2011. The singer, who was 19 at the time, entered rehab for 'emotional and physical issues' after she punched Alex Welch in the face while on tour with The Jonas Brothers. One fan said it was 'emotional' to see Demi look 'so happy, in tune with herself and just healing nicely', after a string of hardship 'I just felt like she betrayed me,' Demi told America's Elle magazine in 2011, 'That's the bottom line.' But it was ultimately a turning point for the Disney personality. 'When you punch someone on a plane, enough is enough,' she said. The singer revealed she turned to drink and drugs as a pre-teen because she had been 'bullied and was looking for an escape'. The former child star told how she would regularly steal alcohol from her stepfather through her teenage years, before turning to cocaine when she was 17, which she 'loved too much'. Demi was sober for six years from the age of 20 to 26, but suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2018, causing her to be legally blind and brain damaged, after having a heart attack and three strokes while in hospital. And 15 years later, Demi returned to the stage with her ex Joe and his bandmates to mark her incredible transformation. Demi captioned a reel of the pair together, 'For the history books,' tagging into the post her ex Joe, who went on to have two daughters with ex-wife Sophie Turner, 29 - Willa, four, and Delphine, two. The Cool for the Summer songstress since May has been married to musician Jordan Lutes, 34. Jutes marks Lovato's second engagement after ending her first engagement to four-time Daytime Emmy nominee Max Ehrich in 2020 after six months of dating. In 2021, she said her short-lived engagement to Ehrich, who popped the question after four months of dating, gave her a 'false sense of security.' 'I really had myself fooled, because it was the safe and expected thing,' she told Entertainment Weekly. 'Obviously I cared deeply about the person, but there was something inside of me that was like, 'I have to prove to the world that I'm okay.' 'I just don't need an object on my finger to make me feel like I've got my s**t together,' she noted. 'It looks like stability, but it doesn't mean that it is. And I don't actually grow through stability. I find that I like living not in chaos or crisis, but in fluidity.' Demi met Max in March 2020 and they began quarantining together immediately, got engaged that July, and then abruptly split in September. Three years later, Demi, who identifies as non-binary, revealed that she decided to re-adopt she/her pronouns in addition to they/them pronouns. 'I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns. It was absolutely exhausting,' Demi told GQ Hype Spain. 'I just got tired. But for that very reason I know that it is important to continue spreading the word.' Lutes did not mind seeing his wife reunite with her ex-boyfriend onstage, as he showed support for his spouse via multiple Instagram posts. Lutes did not mind seeing his wife reunite with her ex-boyfriend onstage, as he showed support for his spouse via multiple Instagram posts In the thread of the comment section adjacent to Lovato's reel, Lutes posted three hysterical emojis and four emojis of clapping hands, signalling his love for Lovato amid the high-profile outing. Lutes also took to Instagram Stories to say that he 'couldn't be more proud' of his spouse. Lutes captioned a clip of his wife heading to the stage to perform: 'I love you soooo much baby.'

'I hate modern dating after hosting one of Netflix's biggest ever shows'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In a world of reality TV showmances, wannabe influencers and frustratingly toxic men, Love Is Blind UK hosts Emma and Matt Willis are a breath of fresh air amid the deluge of dating shows. I was completely charmed by the celebrity couple last year when I interviewed them for the first season of the long-awaited UK spin-off of one of Netflix's most popular reality shows. They were endearingly nervous about their debut as a married couple helming a show about finding love, shared playful quips about what to order for lunch and had a quiet confidence that proved their real-life and on-screen chemistry. When I met up with them again this year for Metro to discuss season 2, which launches today, the nerves had evaporated, but all the charm had, happily, stayed. For those not in the know, the premise of the hit reality show is all about proving that lasting love is so much more than skin deep. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. So, 30 people ready for marriage date each other in 'pods' for a week, getting to know each other from behind a wall without seeing each other, and the lucky couples who make a connection get engaged. By the end of the experiment, after meeting one another in the flesh and spending time together in the outside world, they must decide whether they will say 'I do' at the altar. Throughout the process, our trusty co-hosts jet in and out to guide them through from one stage to the next. As we kick off our chat about their return, the 17 years of marriage between the Big Brother presenter and Busted star shines through when I point out their matching blue clothes. 'Last year, we were quite nervous. This year, we were much more relaxed,' Emma says about returning to the show. They were well aware of the tough task ahead of them when launching the latest spin-off (there are currently eight international versions). 'We really wanted the UK one to be as good as all of the others and I think it surpassed our expectations, because it had everything. 'It had heart, it had a very British sense of humour,' the TV host adds, with hopes that season two meets the high standard season one set for fans. The British power couple, who share three children, have had their ups and downs over the years, but if hosting Love Is Blind has made them 'grateful' for one thing, it is that they met in the early 2000s before online dating took off. 'The one thing I've taken [from hosting the show] – and it's not so much a reflection on our relationship, but a reflection on the world of dating generally – is, I'm really glad I'm not single,' Emma says. 'I wouldn't want to be on dating apps. I know a lot of people on them, and they just moan about them all the time. I think I'd get so frustrated with doing everything on a device.' The idea of meeting organically (a more and more foreign concept for Gen Z) is what attracted them to this show in the first place. 'I think that is a whole world better than trying to navigate [the] beginning of a relationship through a phone, which must be so difficult,' Emma adds. Matt agrees: 'Absolutely, I think messages can get so misconstrued.' When I ask them about their dating app green and red flags, we briefly go on a side tangent about the turn-off factor of posting a photo of yourself holding a fish (it's a whole thing) to a completely baffled Emma. As such, Matt decides a fish picture 'doesn't sound cool' while Emma ponders hers would 'probably be an overly posed picture'. 'I think if it were someone in a pair of shorts and nothing else… I'm getting the ick just thinking about it,' she jokes. So, naturally, I ask if the show had been around when they were single, would they have gone on it – and their answers explained a lot about why they are such a perfect fit. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Emma called the process 'fantastic' but had one caveat. 'I don't know if I could get married after six weeks because I'm a chronic overthinker and I like to know everything,' she admits with a wry smile. Matt, on the other hand, is ready to leap headfirst, joking, 'I could. I'd be like, 'Let's do it.'' He shares: 'I think it'd be really fun to see what that experience is like, talking to someone and doing the experiment. I think it'd be such an exciting thing to do.' Lucky for them, neither has to worry about getting hitched to a near-stranger in six weeks or navigating the treacherous world of Tinder. They'll happily watch on, however. Season one saw plenty of highs and lows, with fan-favourite couple Bobby and Jasmine recently announcing they're expecting their first child. It's clear both Emma and Matt are delighted, with the former recalling that the loved-up pair were 'hook, line and sinker from the beginning', and she could tell they were 'totally smitten' right up to the reunion. Matt adds he's 'so stoked for them'. Of course, the premiere season also included some controversial characters, not least Sam, who was briefly engaged to Nicole (now married to Benaiah), who became the latest 'toxic' reality TV man to spark concerned fan discourse. Viewers can expect different things from the new episodes, Emma teases. 'I think they're a really likeable cast. There's not really any divisive characters, I don't think. Obviously, Sam last year was quite a divisive character. I don't think we have a Sam,' she says. Love Is Blind marks the latest show the pair have jointly tackled in recent years, in addition to their candid therapy docuseries, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life. While working together might be out of the question for some couples, that's not the case for these two. Matt explains: '[I love] everything about [my] job, but then I always have to be away from Emma, away from the family. So the chance to work with her is brilliant. 'I've always been jealous of her job. I've been in a sweaty tour bus with stinky boys. This is way more fun, got a glam squad now, love it.' As for what's next, Emma is clearly enthusiastic about the future of their professional partnership, saying they're ready to do 'eight more seasons' of Love Is Blind. But they have other ideas brewing as well. 'I'd like to do something adventurous. I don't know if it's a travel show – just some kind of adventure. I love shows like Race Across the World. I think that's so much fun, but there's a point to it,' Emma says. More Trending As in sync as ever, Matt agrees. Who knows what's next for this dynamic duo, who are proving themselves to be a formidable force on British reality TV. For now, however, they have a brand new cohort of unlucky-in-love singles to welcome to the pods. So, let the blush-inducing courtship commence. The first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK season two are out now. Got a story? Scottish Oasis fans say goodbye to Rock 'n' Roll stars after epic Murrayfield gigs

Oasis have finished their three-gig run in Edinburgh's Murrayfield in what some might say were "biblical" and "truly magical" shows. Oasis fans in Scotland have said goodbye to Rock 'n' Roll stars Liam and Noel Gallagher after an epic three-day spectacular at Murrayfield. ‌ Tonight's show in Edinburgh marked the end of Oasis' Supersonic run in the capital after last playing in Scotland 16 years ago. ‌ More than 200,000 fans attended the sold-out shows across the three nights, with around 67,000 people packing out the venue this evening in what some might say was a "biblical" and "truly magical" gig. ‌ Support acts, Britpop act Cast from Liverpool and rocker Richard Ashcroft, dazzled fans with their individual repertoires, which included hits like Walkaway and Bitter Sweet Symphony, before the Mancunian brothers took to the stage like a champagne supernova each night. Fans who successfully snapped up tickets for the Oasis 25 dates back in September 2024 had waited 332 days to see the band's first Scottish dates since the Gallagher brothers began a well-publicised and long running feud that split the band. ‌ It was no wonder that fans who had travelled from across the world, including as far as Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Columbia, greeted the band with a Wonderwall of noise, excitement and appreciation that helped blow the roof off the stadium. Excited fans from near and far spoke to the Record earlier today as they queued up for one of Edinburgh's most coveted ever shows. ‌ Civil servant Meeho Lee, 33, and data analyst Ra Young, 31, came from Seoul to witness their favourite band play in Edinburgh. Meeho said: 'I was a huge fan of Oasis since I was a high school student. After I heard they were reuniting, my friend and I got tickets to come here. 'It was a lot of preparation with plane tickets and hotels. It was expensive but it's been worth it. Edinburgh is a very attractive city and the beer is delicious.' ‌ Closer to home, Pharmaceuticals worker Grant Taylor, 43, from Irvine, arrived with his son Evan, 10. Evan said: 'I'm buzzing. I started listening to Oasis when I was seven and we got tickets last year. It will be mental. I am looking forward to Cigarettes & Alcohol and Live Forever.' ‌ Grant added: 'I saw them at Hampden in 2005. We stood on the hills when they played Irvine Beach and tried to hear it but it was lashing down. We got tickets for this in the pre-sale before everybody else was struggling with Ticketmaster's site crashing. I'm looking forward to Cast, Richard Ashcroft and Oasis and will be reliving my youth. This will blow us away.' The gig saw several iconic moments, including the pair blasting Edinburgh council for generalising about their fans, and Noel's influencer daughter sporting a Celtic FC tracksuit in the crowd. Alongside that, two men who scarily resembled the Gallagher brothers turned countless heads outside the venue on Saturday. ‌ The Liam and Noel knock-offs, named Glen and Max, were promoting BAFTA award winning provocateur Alison Jackson's Fringe show, Faking Famous: You Can Be a Celebrity Too, where she invites audience members on stage and turns them into uncanny lookalikes of A-list celebs. The reunion show was even more special for one diehard Oasis fan - Shell Hodge - after she was proposed to during her favourite song 'Slide Away' by her partner of six years, Dwayne Yuill. ‌ Thrilled Shell, 40, said: 'I was singing along and the next thing Dwayne's on one knee holding out a ring. Dwayne really took me by surprise but his timing couldn't have been better. It was just perfect.' Their last concert in Scotland before reuniting had been in June 2009. Hundreds of locals also gathered to hear the muted strains of the show in nearby parks and residential areas up to a mile away. ‌ Despite hugging each other onstage, Noel and Liam chose to stay in separate hotels during their stay in Scotland with Liam bringing his family to the Gleneagles Hotel. Noel was joined by his daughter Anais at the capital's Caledonian hotel. The Murrayfield shows followed similar reunion concerts in Cardiff, Manchester and London. The band will play their next UK and Ireland dates in Dublin this weekend. They'll kick off the North American leg on August 24, in Toronto, Canada before returning to the UK to wrap up the UK shows at Wembley on September 27 and 28.
