Keith Urban ‘didn't end chat show call when asked about his wife Nicole Kidman's intimate career moments'

Perth Now3 days ago
Keith Urban appeared to abruptly end an interview after being asked a personal question about his wife Nicole Kidman's intimate career moments — but sources say the singer did not hang up.
The 57-year-old country star was speaking with Australia's Mix 102.3's Hayley Max in the Morning on Tuesday, 1 July, when hosts Max Burford and Hayley Pearson introduced a game called Wall of Truth, and reports claimed after Keith abruptly ended the chat when asked about his wife Nicole Kidman's latest raunchy sex scenes.
But a source has now told People: 'Keith did not hang up, period,' a source told People. 'He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothing burger.'
Hayley described the supposedly controversial chat show section that allegedly prompted Keith to hang up as a segment where they ask guests 'a very tricky' and 'deeply personal' question.
Max began it by asking Keith: 'When I was coming up with something to ask you, Keith Urban, if you happen to play this game, the first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies, TV shows all the time… I watched a movie with her and Zac Efron recently, A Family Affair.'
Keith replied politely: 'Oh yeah, that's a good one.'
Max then asked: 'And I thought, 'What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?''
Shortly after the question, Keith disappeared from the call.
Another voice on the show said he'd been 'disconnected from Zoom.'
Max suggested: 'I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question,' adding Urban 'doesn't like the personal stuff.'
Max, however, appeared puzzled, noting Keith had been 'smiling' during the interview.
The source told People Keith is a 'very easygoing' interviewee and was not personally offended by the question. A representative for Urban declined to comment on the incident.
Nicole Kidman, 58, stars alongside Zac Efron, 37, in A Family Affair, released in June 2024.
In the film, the actress plays a widowed writer who begins dating Zac's character, a self-absorbed actor employing her daughter as a personal assistant.
Nicole told People last year: 'It's really helpful when you're doing this sort of work together that you've already got a history together, because it's easy. You're not working to create a history. So I'm not like, 'Can I touch you?' I feel incredibly trusting of Zac.'
Keith and Nicole married in 2006 and celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary last month.
They have two daughters – Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Nicole marked the anniversary on Instagram, writing, 'Happy Anniversary Baby (red heart emoji.) @KeithUrban.'
In December, the actress told People Keith 'still knows how to keep me on my toes'.
She recalled about a recent surprise dinner: 'I like being asked out, which he still does. Seven nights ago, we went to dinner in New York. We love Japanese food, but I'm open (to everything.)
'I like not knowing where he's going to take me. Surprise me, baby!'

Nick Kyrgios: Tennis ace partners with adult film stars Rachel Starr and Sophie Stonehouse on OnlyFans TV

While the tennis world takes centre stage at Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios is on a very different court — and not just metaphorically. The former world number 13 has swapped rackets for reality TV, fronting a new OnlyFans series alongside adult entertainers Rachel Starr and Sophie Stonehouse. Before the curious raise their eyebrows: no, this isn't spicy content. The show, Smash City, launched last month on OnlyFans TV and features a pickleball competition with eight creators vying for a $20,000 prize. Promoted as a 'pickleball competition where one person is left standing at the end', the series already has fans wondering if Kyrgios is officially in his post-tennis entertainment era. Loading Instagram Post The career detour comes just months after Kyrgios' split from longtime girlfriend Costeen Hatzi, who confirmed in May the pair were no longer speaking. Their relationship unfolded largely in the public eye — including joint media interviews and viral TikToks — with Kyrgios even teasing marriage plans. Hatzi, too, hinted at family aspirations, telling followers the couple had 'definitely had conversations.' 'We love each other. (But) there's no rush. It'll happen when it happens,' she said. 'Nick tells me every day that he wants a baby.' But earlier this year, the cracks began to show. In March, Hatzi posted a photo series with a pointed caption: 'The photos are good when the photographer isn't secretly jealous.' The pair had often swapped roles behind the lens, with Kyrgios regularly acting as her 'boyfriend of Instagram' on luxury holidays and brand shoots. Hatzi in May revealed the pair are no longer on speaking terms. Now, with his Wimbledon return off the table and his personal life firmly in the rearview, Kyrgios is chasing a different kind of title — this time, on the courts of Smash City.

Ariana Madix likens Beyond the Villa to Vanderpump Rules

Ariana Madix sees similarities between Vanderpump Rules and Love Island: Beyond the Villa. The 40-year-old beauty - who previously starred on Vanderpump Rules, before becoming the host of Love Island USA in 2024 - admits that there are some obvious similarities between the hit reality TV series and the new Love Island spin-off show, which traces the lives of the Islanders a year after gaining fame. Speaking to People, Ariana explained: "There's a lot of similarities to filming [the spin-off] as, I feel like, there was to filming Vanderpump Rules, for example." Ariana enjoyed being reunited with the likes of Serena Page and JaNa Craig as part of her hosting duties. She said: "When JaNa and Serena came out to do Aftersun, we were able to go out and get dinner the night before. And that was really fun." JaNa and Serena even paid a visit to Ariana and Katie Maloney's sandwich shop. Ariana shared: "They came to the sandwich shop, Something About Her, to shoot their spin-off show. So I got to chat with them a little bit there, because a lot of times we interact online." Meanwhile, Vanderpump Rules has undergone a reboot ahead of season 12 of the show, and Ariana previously warned the all-new cast that they have a "tough road ahead of them". The reality star is excited to watch the upcoming season of the long-running TV show, but she insisted that it won't be an easy experience for the new line-up. Ariana - who made her Broadway as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in 2024 - told Extra: "I'm excited to see, I guess, how it works. "It's such a hard thing to do, I think, to put yourself out there … They have a tough road ahead of them … Anybody, I think, who's done that has lived that, and I think they'll be great. They'll have fun." Ariana also revealed that she learned a lot about herself during her time on Vanderpump Rules. She said: "I've learned to trust myself. I've also learned to trust my gut more and I think I've learned that I can do things that are hard in life."
