Zetrix AI Emerging As Key Driver In Nation's Blockchain Push
The Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), launched on June 28, 2025, is a key driver for Zetrix AI's growth. Jointly developed by Zetrix AI and MIMOS, MBI is designed to support both public and private sector applications. Built on Zetrix AI's proprietary Layer-1 blockchain, it aims to serve as a 'national backbone' for critical functions such as verifiable credentials (VC), supply-chain traceability, and asset tokenization. Among its applications, MyDigital ID (for digital identity verification) and MyGov (for digital decentralization/notarization of government records) are already live on the platform, with MyDigital ID alone boasting 2.5 million active users.
MyDigital ID is already generating revenue for Zetrix AI. The company earns MYR0.40 per transaction from service providers who utilize MyDigital ID for credential authentication. These service providers span various sectors, including government agencies (such as the Immigration Department), social media companies, government-linked companies (GLCs), and even startups like Masverse, iTrace, and Cokeeps. Maybank Research estimates that Zetrix AI accrued approximately MYR5 million in revenue from VC authentication in the second quarter of 2025, a figure projected to double in the third quarter. For the full fiscal year 2025, VC-related revenue is forecast to reach MYR40 million, already imputed in the research firm's earnings estimates.
Revenue accretion is expected to snowball further with the anticipated launch of My Superapp later this month. This new application will enable Malaysia's estimated 40 million annual foreign visitors to digitize their passports and driving licenses for use within the country. Zetrix AI plans to charge MYR100 per application. Despite being an optional service, the revenue potential is substantial, even if only a fraction of foreign visitors subscribe for the added convenience.
Maybank Research highlights that this strategic shift from an exclusive government-to-government (G2G) service provider to a broader national blockchain developer underpins Zetrix AI's long-term growth trajectory, despite the recalibrated valuation. Related

Digital Ministry to intensify 13MP initiatives, says Gobind
KUALA LUMPUR: The Digital Ministry is set to further transform the national digital landscape under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) with major initiatives, including the establishment of a National Data Bank and the deployment of digital twin technology. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the National Data Bank would serve as a national repository for high-quality datasets across ministries and sectors, enabling streamlined data access and improved analytics. While, the national digital twin systems would provide real-time modelling capabilities to simulate complex environments, helping policymakers test and refine decisions, he said. "Together, they will power AI-based decision-making across domains such as urban planning, disaster response, logistics, and healthcare,' he said in a statement on Saturday (Aug 2). Gobind said the government would also establish a National Data Commission, an independent body under the ministry aimed to safeguard data assets and foster a culture of responsible innovation. He said the proposed commission would oversee data governance, enforce secure sharing practices, promote ethical data use, support transparent and crosssector data collaboration, as well as play a critical role in managing the national digital infrastructure and enhancing public trust in an increasingly data-driven economy. In addition, he said the GovTech Malaysia would spearhead digital public services transformation by coordinating efforts across ministries and agencies, with its pivotal role would be in deploying a comprehensive digital public infrastructure, enhancing system interoperability, and accelerating the rollout of end-to-end online services. "A flagship initiative under 13MP is the creation of a single government service window, anchored by the MyGov mobile application and the portal, which will provide citizens with unified, secure, and personalised access to public services through a single platform. "Access to this platform will be exclusively enabled via MyDigital ID, ensuring a secure and universal digital credential for all Malaysians,' he said. According to Gobind, these initiatives support the government's target for 95 per cent of federal government services to be delivered fully online by 2030, and aligns with the aspiration to place Malaysia among the top 20 countries in the United Nations' eGovernment Development Index (Online Service Index) by the same year. "The 13MP signifies a national commitment, and essentially serves as a blueprint for Malaysia to become a digitally advanced, highly productive, prosperous and citizen-centric nation. This reflects Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's commitment to ensure the country's agenda towards Malaysia Digital 2030 succeeds,' he said. On the upcoming Asean AI Summit that will be held from Aug 12-13 and Kuala Lumpur Smart City Expo (Sept 17-19), Gobind said it would serve as a perfect platform for the ministry to expand on the initiatives listed in the 13MP. Selangor's PLATS programme records RM10mil in sales
KLANG: The Platform Selangor (PLATS) initiative, a digital entrepreneurship ecosystem spearheaded by the Selangor government, has recorded cumulative sales exceeding RM10 million. Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Head of the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) Foundation, said the figure reflects the success of various initiatives under the programme. "Based on our data, the Agrobank PLATS Ramadan Bazaar alone generated around RM8 million in sales," he told a press conference yesterday. "Additionally, data from the point-of-sale device system provided to our entrepreneurs shows nearly RM3 million in transactions." To date, 88,000 entrepreneurs have joined PLATS, edging closer to the target of 100,000 set by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. The programme primarily supports micro-entrepreneurs, including hawkers and small retailers, particularly in the food and beverage and service sectors. Ahmad Azri added that the foundation is collaborating with the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) to help entrepreneurs expand into international markets. PJ mayor outlines conditions for privatised parking scheme
PJ mayor Zahri Samingon said the privatisation process must not disrupt the existing parking situation in the city. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) agrees in principle with the Selangor government's decision to privatise the city's parking system, but several conditions must be met before it can be implemented. Mayor Zahri Samingon said MBPJ supported the move as it was a policy approved by the state executive council. However, he said, the privatisation process must not disrupt the existing parking situation in the city. 'One of our conditions is that the revenue (MBPJ earns) must be the same or higher than what we get currently,' he told reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the PJ International Outdoor Expo 2025 here today. 'There are many terms that we still need to refine further, such as the basis for enforcement delegation, how long it will be delegated, and so on. 'So there are around three to four more terms that we need to get more details on,' he said, adding that the council had already met with Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) several times to seek clarification on the plan. He said further discussions will be held with MBI to finalise the remaining details. The state government's Smart Intelligent Parking (SIP) system is set to be implemented in PJ, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Selayang from Aug 1. It will involve the four local councils, state-owned Rantaian Mesra Sdn Bhd, and a private company. Enforcement will be carried out by the local councils, with Rantaian Mesra acting as the system coordinator. The private company, which has not been named, will handle day-to-day parking operations. The MPs of all four constituencies have objected to the proposed system, urging the state government to review the proposal and establish an independent, bipartisan committee to reassess the scheme. State local government executive councillor Ng Suee Lim was reported to have said that the state was prepared to postpone the plan if issues raised are not resolved before Aug 1.
