The Collector was speaking during the Public Grievance Redressal Programme held at the Collectorate on Monday. Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar, DRO Parthasarathi, Special Deputy Collector Suryanarayana, DRDA PD Narasayya, and DPO Samatha also participated in the programme. Officials received various petitions from the public during the session.
During his address, Collector T.S. Chetan instructed officials to inspect overhead water tanks and ensure their cleanliness.
He stressed the importance of providing safe drinking water and directed field-level inspections to avoid any shortcomings.
He also warned that officials would be held accountable if hostels were found lacking in hygiene or if contaminated water was supplied.
He directed mandatory visits to hostels, with inspections covering water facilities, tank cleaning, restrooms, pipelines, and kitchens to ensure they are functioning properly.
The Collector emphasised that every petition must be thoroughly investigated in a transparent manner and resolved within the stipulated timeline, ensuring the petitioner is fully satisfied. He cautioned officials against delays beyond SLA (Service Level Agreement) or reopening of resolved cases, urging them to close all grievances conclusively.
Petitions submitted during the session included issues related to land disputes, ration cards, housing site allocations, and pension approvals. In total, 234 petitions were received during the session, including 77 from Puttaparthi, 55 from Penukonda, 73 from Dharmavaram, and 29 from Kadiri.
Officials from various departments, along with petitioners and stakeholders, actively participated in the event.

Addressing a review meeting on the 'Water Bodies Watchdog' initiative through video conference from the local Collectorate's conference hall on Tuesday, he stressed the urgency of the task. He instructed the Irrigation Department to immediately survey water bodies under their jurisdiction, detect illegal occupations, and submit full-scale documentation for necessary action. He also said that protecting water bodies is crucial for maintaining irrigation systems, ensuring water availability, and preventing further environmental damage. He added that the reports should include clear demarcation of encroached areas, relevant sketches, and proposed measures for restoration. He warned that any delay in identifying and acting upon encroachments could result in irreversible loss of public resources. The officials were asked to coordinate with revenue and municipal authorities for accurate data collection and enforcement. The meeting was attended by Revenue Divisional Officers, Irrigation Executive Engineers of Penukonda and Dharmavaram divisions, Deputy Executive Engineers, Municipal Commissioners, and other concerned officials. The Joint Collector urged all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that the district's water bodies are preserved for future generations. He reiterated that the administration would take strict action against those responsible for illegal encroachments.

Civil Supplies Minister urges officials to win public trust with better services
Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar has urged officials of the Civil Supplies Department to earn the trust of consumers by ensuring efficient and transparent delivery of services. He was addressing a review meeting with officials from the North Andhra districts at the Collectorate in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. The Minister emphasised the need for field-level inspections to understand ground realities and called for enhanced coordination among departments. He reviewed the progress of the Deepam-2 scheme, rice distribution, curbing rice smuggling, weights and measures enforcement, and food quality monitoring. Mr. Manohar stated that Mobile Dispensing Units (MDUs) had been phased out, and despite financial constraints, ration depots were operational. He said steps were being taken to ensure the supply of quality commodities through these depots. Door delivery of ration supplies is being continued for senior citizens aged above 65 and physically challenged persons between the 26th and 30th of every month, he said. While Deepam-1 benefited 1 crore people, Deepam-2 reached 95 lakh beneficiaries. The third phase aims to cover the remaining eligible households by overcoming technical hurdles, the Minister added. Raising concerns over complaints of ration delivery boys collecting money from beneficiaries, Mr. Manohar warned of strict action against dealers engaging in such malpractices. He also instructed officials to act promptly when gas subsidy amounts are not credited to beneficiaries' accounts. Smart ration cards will be distributed to applicants on August 25, he announced. Further, he directed officials to ensure the display of flex boards and QR codes at ration depots. Information on available commodities, supply schedules, and related details must be visible to the public, and dealers must refrain from charging any extra amount from cardholders. The meeting was attended by Civil Supplies Commissioner Sourabh Gaur, Visakhapatnam Joint Collector Mayur Ashok, GCC MD Kalpana Kumari, Anakapalli Joint Collector M. New ration cards distribution from Aug 25
Paderu (ASR District): Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar announced that new ration cards will be made available across the state starting August 25. He convened a review meeting with Civil Supplies and other department officials at the Collectorate in Paderu on Monday. The minister confirmed that 1.46 crore new smart ration cards will be distributed statewide. He noted that the coalition government has initiated numerous reforms in the Civil Supplies department, aiming to provide better services to the public under the new system. Andhra Pradesh has achieved the top position in India by completing 96.4% of e-KYC, demonstrating its commitment to efficient service delivery. He also mentioned that 1400 towers are currently operational for improved connectivity, with more to be added soon. The minister stressed the importance of extensive field visits by officials to understand ground realities and gather feedback from tribal communities at weekly shandies regarding the Deepam scheme and the delivery of essential commodities. He stated that he, along with officials and public representatives, conducted field inspections on Monday to assess the actual situation and the efficiency of ration supply. He said that doorstep delivery of essential commodities to the elderly is successful and expressed satisfaction that people appreciate the flexibility of collecting provisions from fair price shops between the 1st and 15th of the month. Manohar strictly cautioned against any irregularities in the delivery of Deepam scheme gas cylinders. He also added that forest produce cultivated by tribal communities would be made available at 29,000 FP shops. District collector AS Dinesh Kumar and joint collector Dr MJ Abhishek Gowda provided detailed information on mandal-wise fair price shops and essential commodity distribution in the district, along with an e-KYC status presentation. Civil Supplies Commissioner Saurabh Gaur stressed the mandatory e-KYC for LPG connections, noting that only 25% of the process has been completed in the district, and directed officials to expedite it. GCC Managing Director Kalpana Kumari, Paderu Sub-Collector Sourya Man Patel, Assistant Collector Sahith, Rampachodavaram and Chintoor ITDA Project Officers Katta Simhachalam and Apoorva Bharat, Rampachodavaram Sub-Collector Kalpa Sri, ICDS Project Officer Jhansi Ram, and District Education Officer P Brahmaji and others participated.
