Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers landed a major recruiting target on Monday, getting a commitment from elite 2026 cornerback recruit Havon Finney Jr.
Finney, a Los Angeles native, was ranked as the No. 1 cornerback and a top-5 overall recruit in 2027 before reclassifying to the 2026 class.

Finney fielded offers from nearly every top program in the nation. The 6-foot-3, 170-lbs defensive back visited the Oregon Ducks for Junior Day on Jan. 25 and had visits scheduled with the Ohio State Buckeyes and USC Trojans later this summer.
The Sierra Canyon CB announced his commitment decision live on 247Sports.com. The announcement was initially supposed to narrow his options down to a top-3, but he chose to surprise his mother with a commitment to LSU on her birthday.
"This process has been great, it's a blessing," Finney said. "It's always been a dream of mine to get to this point, and now I'm here."
"LSU was an easy choice for me," he added The coaching staff, the environment and alumni base that they have. I can build connections on and off the field there."
Kelly and the Tigers boast one of the nation's best recruiting classes in 2026. LSU currently ranks No. 4, trailing only USC, Clemson and Notre Dame. In addition to Finney, the program also has a commitment from five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Angel Reese Records Her Fourth Double-Double of the Season

Angel Reese Records Her Fourth Double-Double of the Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Angel Reese has established herself as the top rebounder in the WNBA. Her skills were evident once more on Tuesday when the Chicago Sky faced off against the New York Liberty. While the result wasn't what any Sky supporter hoped for, this team is still young and has significant potential for development. Players such as Hailey Van Lith and Kamilla Cardoso are set to rise, and Reese is already demonstrating franchise-level talent. The three-time BET Sportswoman of the Year arguably delivered her finest performance of the season against the Liberty. She was a playmaker on offense with three assists and secured a couple of steals thanks to her aggressive defense. The Sky have faced challenges, now sitting at 2-6 for the season, with their only victories against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, who currently hold a record of 1-9. Despite the relentless wave of online negativity aimed at her, the former LSU Tigers star continues to motivate her teammates. Advertisement Earlier this week, she addressed some of the negative social media posts she's endured. 'My brand is BUILT love. They can't stop what's already BUILT. The real KNOW the REAL…I really hope that check be worth the amount of lies yall make up EVERYDAY 🤣😭i REALLYYYYY hope.' Reese finished the game with 17 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 8-13 from the field. Although the Sky fell a little short against the reigning WNBA champions, Angel has no reason to feel disappointed. She certainly more than proved her worth tonight and looked to be one of the top players on the court. Chicago will be back in action on Friday as they head to Atlanta to face the Dream.
