Isle of Wight Council bin worker seriously injured in lorry 'incident'
A refuse worker has been airlifted to hospital following a "serious incident" involving a bin lorry. A motorcyclist has died and his passenger is in hospital with life-changing injuries following a collision.A Ford Kuga and Kawasaki motorcycle collided at about 15:00 BST on Monday on Briddlesford Road, near Newport, on the Isle of Wight.A 58-year-old man died at the scene, and a 53-year-old woman riding on the back of the motorbike was taken to and Isle of Wight Constabulary said their family had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers. Ryde e-bike rider guilty over pedestrian hit and run collision
An e-bike rider has pleaded guilty to knocking down a pedestrian in a hit-and-run collision which was caught on men were on the bike which careered into a 16-year-old girl in Ryde High Street, Isle of Wight, on the evening of 5 Douglas, 21, of Fishbourne Lane, admitted driving dangerously, without a licence, insurance or headgear, and failing to stop after an case was adjourned until 3 October at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court while a pre-sentence report is prepared.
