Information Ministry to launch Khareef Dhofar 2025 media programmes tomorrow

Salalah — The Ministry of Information will launch on Tuesday the media programmes accompanying the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) Season 2025 as part of a comprehensive plan to highlight the tourism, cultural, natural, and heritage attractions of Dhofar Governorate during the season.
The integrated plan, running until 31 August, includes producing and broadcasting visual, audio, and digital programs with interactive content and live field coverage to ensure wide outreach locally and internationally.
Oman TV will begin its coverage with the program "People and Khareef", returning this year with a refreshed, more in-depth format. The daily show (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM) will feature diverse locations showcasing Dhofar's landscapes and tourism activities, with participation from Omani and GCC media professionals as well as Arab journalists.
The evening program "Khareef Nights" will broadcast live from the "Return of the Past" event site in Al Sa'ada, Salalah (9:00 PM – 10:00 PM) on Oman General and Oman Cultural channels, covering heritage, cultural, and artistic activities.
Oman Radio will air Khareef's Radio Programme codenamed 'Atheer' daily (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) from the "Return of the Past" location, featuring studio interviews, AI-powered segments on Dhofar, and live video content shared via the Ministry's and radio's platforms.
Youth Radio will broadcast "Khareef and Youth" from Jebel Ateen studio (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM daily), focusing on artistic, cultural, and social themes for young audiences.
Oman News Agency (ONA) has commenced its coverage with news reports, features, photos, and videos across digital platforms, social media, and smart apps, as well as radio/TV bulletins, highlighting tourism assets and socio-cultural interactions.
Oman newspaper continues its coverage (since June 21) through print/digital reports and social media, offering rich content on the festivities.
Moreover, the Ministry of Information's General Directorate of Digital Media enhances engagement via interactive competitions, drone-captured scenic vignettes, and multilingual visitor interviews.
The 'Ayn" platform provides live coverage from Oman Radio and TV for all programs and activities related to the Khareef Dhofar season. Ayn also launched a children's program promoting Dhofar as a family-friendly destination through edutainment content.
Furthermore, Oman's Information Portal, available in eight languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and German), features dedicated Khareef content to amplify Oman's global digital presence. The portal is one of the Ministry of Information's most prominent platforms.

Produced under the banner of Amigos Muscat, with Subash Krishnan as co-producer, the film is written and directed by Sinoj Ambookan Jose. The lead roles are played by Oman-based journalist Kabeer Yousuf and noted dance and drama personality Indu Baburaj. The supporting cast includes Jose Ambookan, Subash Krishnan, Mohammed Kalathingal Tirur, Jose Chacko, Vinod Pundoor, Nikhil, Hariprasad Kiran, Dinesh Kumar, and Dr. Rajagopal. The cinematography is by Jijo Thoompattu and Pranav (Eyemagic), editing by Renil Jacob, background score by Leno Martin, sound mixing by Shaiju M, and art direction by Reji Puthoor. The premiere was attended by Dr. Talib Al Balushi of Aadujeevitham fame, Oman Film Society representative Mohammed Al Kindi, and Dr. J. Retnakumar, Chairman of Bhavalaya and President of the World Malayali Federation, who felicitated the team. The film, already selected for major short film festivals, is slated for a YouTube release on India's Independence Day, August 15, 2025.

Muscat: LuLu Oman launched 'India Utsav' 2025 to celebrate and promote the rich and diverse culture, heritage, traditions and flavors of India in Oman. The week-long festival was launched to coincide with the 78th Independence Day of India. The festival was inaugurated by H.E. Shri Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, on the 13th of August in the presence of a host of officials from the Indian community and Lulu dignitaries. The festival will be held till 20th of August at select Lulu outlets across the Sultanate. The festival, which is a kaleidoscope of culture, colours and cuisines of India, will provide customers a unique opportunity to experience Indian extravaganza in every category from lifestyle and fashion to food and drinks. There will also be amazing promotions and offers on a wide range of Indian products on display. Special stalls will be set up to familiarize and promote regional cuisines and snacks to people all over the world. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Anwar Sadhath, Regional Director of Lulu Hypermarkets - Oman, stated, 'This festival is part of Lulu's initiative to strengthen the cultural relations between Oman and India. It will offer local residents and expatriates a taste of India's dynamic cuisines and a window to its vibrant traditions. Shoppers will find an extensive range of authentic Indian grocery products, everyday household essentials, and humble yet much-loved brands from across India, from staple grains, spices, and pickles to traditional products and kitchenware, bringing the essence of Indian homes right into their baskets. To complement the experience, the festival also features authentic Indian apparel, exquisite clothing collections, and traditionally intricate jewelry, adding a fashionable touch to a wholesome Indian shopping journey.'
