Brooklyn's free Paramount+ Movie Nights are back this summer—here's the full lineup
The season of free outdoor movies is happily upon us and along with all of the gratis screenings that Paramount will be hosting at Bryant Park this summer, the streamer will also be back at four of Brooklyn's most iconic outdoor spaces with a whole lineup of free entertainment all summer long.
Paramount+ Movie Nights in Brooklyn is back for the 2025 season, co-hosted by Brooklyn Magazine, and it's bringing with it 16 free weekly screenings in four prized public spaces across the borough: McCarren Park, Fort Greene Park, Coney Island and Prospect Park. Running from June 13 through August 27, this year's free movie lineup includes beloved high-school flicks like Clueless and Mean Girls, animated favorites like The Smurfs and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and action-packed adrenaline pumpers like Gladiator II and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
All films will begin shortly after sundown, and there will be complimentary popcorn and candy provided for RSVP holders at screenings (first come, first served while supplies last). Due to their al fresco nature, movies may be cancelled in the case of inclement weather, so definitely check BKMag's social media before attending.

Len Cariou is nowadays best known for playing Henry Reagan in Blue Bloods, but he had a long and varied career years before the CBS police procedural. Henry Reagan from Blue Bloods, played by actor Len Cariou, looks completely different in a popular 1980s film that has recently been remade for Netflix. In recent times, Cariou is most known for his role as retired New York police commissioner and father to Frank Reagan (portrayed by Tom Selleck), Henry Reagan. However, before the CBS drama aired, Cariou had a diverse career, featuring in When They See Us, About Schmidt, Lady in White, Murder She Wrote, Brotherhood and Law and Order. One of his most significant roles was in 1981 when he starred in the romantic-comedy The Four Seasons, which centres on a group of married friends. The film has been transformed into a Netflix series by Mean Girls' Tina Fey, along with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, with all eight episodes released earlier this month. In the original The Four Seasons, Cariou plays Nick Callen, whose midlife crisis acts as a catalyst for the rest of the friendship group to reassess their own relationships. Now aged 85, the Blue Bloods star was in his mid-40s when he featured in the rom-com, sporting dark to greying hair and a leaner physique. In the 2025 Netflix adaptation, Cariou's character Nick is portrayed by actor and comedian Steve Carell. He is best recognised for his role as Michael Scott in The Office US, but has also appeared in Crazy Stupid Love, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and provided the voice for Gru in the Despicable Me franchise. Steve Carell teams up with actress and creator of The Four Seasons, Tina Fey, who steps into the role of Kate Burroughs, a part originally played by the iconic Carol Burnett from Annie and Better Call Saul fame. Joining them is Saturday Night Live alumni Will Forte as Jack Burroughs, taking over the baton from MASH superstar Alan Alda, along with Coleman Domingo from Fear The Walking Dead, filling the shoes of Danny Zimmer, a role once held by The Ritz's Jack Weston. Despite no new projects listed on Len Cariou's IMDb page as Blue Bloods winds down, co-star Abigail Hawk hinted at his continued zest for work in an interview with Us Weekly: "He's 85 years young. "One of the coolest things about our show, aside from like the family dinners and aside from [the fact that] obviously these people are beloved, is that we show that age is really just a number."

The latest chapter in the story centres on US singer Marc Anthony, who is reported to have sung to Victoria at the reception, rather than the bride, and added insult to injury by calling Posh 'the most beautiful woman in the room'. Friends of the Beckham clan furiously deny the accusations — which come three years after the Vogue-covered event — accusing Nicola of being 'spoiled' and 'having a tantrum'. Only one thing is for certain, then: the divide between the two families has never been wider. Last night a source who has worked with both Brooklyn and the Beckhams said: 'This whole situation is quite unprecedented, and no-one could have foretold things would get this bad, or this toxic — for toxic is what it is. 'While Nicola and Brooklyn's pals claim one thing, David and Victoria's say quite another — so somewhere along the line, someone is obfuscating. 'Or perhaps another more palatable explanation is, as David's hero the late Queen might say, recollections may vary. 'Unquestionably that wedding day — and the six-month build-up — was the tipping point for all that has followed. Mean Girls vibes 'So from Nicola's perspective, it's no wonder she keeps bringing it up — what was meant to be the most special day of her life has been overtaken by events beyond her control. The second — and perhaps irreversible — tipping point came earlier this month, in what was a week of celebrations for David's 50th birthday. His eldest son attended none of them. Brooklyn has told pals he texted his dad to meet him for a quiet coffee behind closed doors, but was rebuffed. How deeply unseemly this he-said/she-said battle must be for David, who recently graced the cover of Time magazine for his charitable endeavours. And I wouldn't bet against them being billionaires by the time the former England midfielder is 55. (Although it might pain them to note, this is still less than half of Nicola's tycoon dad Nelson's estimated personal fortune). 'Brand', though, is a negative term for Nicola and Brooklyn. Her camp has briefed US periodicals suggesting that Posh 'n' Becks are more concerned with keeping up appearances — and maintaining the family brand — than making things up with their boy. They have labelled the Beckhams' attempts to reach out to Brooklyn — posting Instagram stories tagging him — as 'performative'. Showbiz website TMZ quoted 'sources familiar with the situation' as saying the young couple 'have made themselves available for months and months to discuss all of the ongoing drama', but that David and Victoria refuse to talk with Nicola around 'because she always talks back to them and stands up for Brooklyn'. Of course, that £1,190 co-ord outfit came back to haunt Nicola last month when Victoria appeared to goad her daughter-in-law, wearing the exact same thing — sparking a 'who wore it better' debate on social media. So what is the truth? Well, performative or not, all four protagonists still follow one another on Instagram. But hey, that's showbiz! And now the wedding has been wheeled out again, with those reports alleging Nicola cried on her wedding day. "For whatever reason, that didn't happen. Much later, as a gift to the couple, Marc Anthony performed a few songs. 'Everyone got up to dance and as part of this he pulled his best friends David and Victoria up on stage, and then grabbed Brooklyn to dance with his mum, and Harper danced with David. 'Cruz also got up with Eva Longoria — it was a fun family moment and one dance. No-one realised in the moment that Nicola was upset.' Whatever the truth — and tellingly the Beckhams didn't wish Nicola and Brooklyn a happy anniversary last month, either privately or publicly — the quartet won't be playing happy families any time soon.
