Watch: Indian woman shares ugly racism she faced abroad; details inside

Social media is often used to share thoughts and experiences, but it also shows the harsh side of things– like racism. A video by Shikha, an Indian woman living in Canada, has gone viral after she spoke about the racist comments she receives from some white individuals.
She shared her experiences in a clear and slightly humorous way, which got a lot of people talking. While many supported her, the video also led to discussions about how racism still exists in countries that are seen as diverse, like Canada.
Shikha's viral post
In the video, Shikha appears confidently dancing, a direct contrast to the hateful comments she's highlighting. The text overlay on the video reads, 'Weird comments I get from white people as an Indian living abroad.'
In her Instagram caption, Shikha added: 'Glad they leave these comments only on social media. Face to face, they are so sweet.'
In her video, Shikha laid bare the kind of racism she faces online– open, casual, and deeply offensive. She shared a list of messages that people have sent her, many of them anonymous, and shockingly blunt. Comments like 'Get a deodorant first,' 'You guys stink,' and 'Go back, we don't need you' were just a few among many.

Some messages were even more hostile and dehumanising. One read, 'Deport these freeloading creatures,' while another mocked, 'Go to Tim Hortons, you will feel at home.' Others used slurs like 'Pajeets' or questioned her very presence in the country with lines like, 'Why move where everybody hates you?' and 'Find a food bank to eat.'
Despite the hate, Shikha refused to be silenced. Wrapping up her post with confidence and clarity, she wrote: 'Should I share more?? I mean, why?? Also, I am dancing and happy and doing what I want on my social media, their mean faceless comments can't dishearten me.'
Mixed responses: Support and skepticism
Shikha's video, which has garnered over 577,000 views, quickly attracted a range of reactions. Many viewers were quick to support her and show empathy, offering messages of solidarity. One user commented: 'Please don't be upset. We are with you. Keep going and shining forever. We know the hard work you've put in to come to this stage.' Another person added, 'Yes, it's true, but your list is too much.'
However, not everyone agreed with Shikha's experience.
A few commenters questioned the authenticity of the remarks she listed. One individual wrote: 'Absolutely untrue.' Another user remarked: 'I'm living in Canada and to be honest, Canadian people are sweeter than Indians.' A third comment stated: 'I never encountered this in Canada in the past five years. The people here are really sweet.'
A long-time immigrant in the U.S. also weighed in: 'I've been in the US for 11 years now...
faced a little racism but never heard such comments directly.'

Gracie Hunt breaks silence on romance with Derek Green, reveals bond began long before Cody Keith split

Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt has been making headlines again, but this time it isn't for her game-day fashion or fitness content. The daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt recently opened up about her new relationship with Derek Green, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Their love story is rooted in childhood memories, family connections, and a well-timed reconnection that blossomed into something more just months ago. From lifelong friends to inseparable partners Gracie Hunt revealed that her connection with Derek wasn't new—it's been years in the making. 'Derek and I have known each other our whole lives,' she said. 'We would actually play together as babies during the Chiefs' Christmas parties every year, and then we reconnected as adults in 2017 and met on the sidelines pregame. We reconnected in early March and have been inseparable ever since.' While she kept her April breakup with ex-boyfriend Cody Keith private, the 26-year-old made it clear that her relationship with Derek wasn't born from rebound energy, but rather a bond rekindled at the right time. Since going public on Instagram, the pair have shared glimpses of vacations, steakhouse dates, and game-day sidelines, making fans eager to follow their journey. Purposeful offseason and a balanced lifestyle Beyond her personal life, Gracie emphasized that her offseason was also about growth and discipline. 'It's exploring business opportunities that give me a fresh perspective and can really help me prepare for the future,' she explained. Equally important was recharging away from the spotlight. 'The last objective of the off-season is to spend time in nature, to reset and recharge.' 'He'll do everything': Jake Guentzel blasts Sidney Crosby's stardom, says fame became toxic in Pittsburgh

Jake Guentzel, reveals the challenges Sidney Crosby faces due to his fame (Getty Images) Sidney Crosby's name still draws crowds, cameras and conversation two decades into an elite NHL career. But fame has its trade-offs — and former teammate Jake Guentzel offered a blunt portrait of what life looks like for the Penguins captain when he spoke on The Cam & Strick Podcast. Guentzel's comments lift the curtain on how constant attention shapes Crosby's daily routine and the discipline behind his longevity. Fans, photos and no easy exit from the spotlight Jake Guentzel didn't sugarcoat the reality: 'I mean he has to,' he said, referring to the difficulty Sidney Crosby faces moving around Pittsburgh without being swarmed. 'It's got to be tough for him. I mean, everyone wants to be all over him, it seems like.' Jake Guentzel talks Crosby, Kucherov, 4 Nations and more That public magnetism demands careful management — something Crosby handles by keeping his private life tightly controlled and remaining approachable yet guarded when fans approach. As Guentzel added, 'Whenever you come up to him, he's so friendly. He's such a nice guy; that's the good thing about him. He'll do everything for everyone.' Lone work ethic: how Sidney Crosby sustains elite production Behind the celebrity is relentless preparation. Guentzel and hosts pointed out Crosby's near-constant training, with Guentzel answering 'Never' when asked if Crosby takes time off. The veteran's solo sessions — often with a single trainer — underline a commitment few can match: Crosby has delivered around 20 seasons of elite play, three Stanley Cups and the kind of scoring output (more than 600 goals and roughly 1,600 points) that cements a generational legacy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 20 Legendary Cars from the Past Undo Also Read: Connor McDavid's top-six gets a boost as Oilers secure Andrew Mangiapane on $7.2 million deal For Pittsburgh, Crosby's profile is both an asset and a management challenge. His draw fills arenas and media cycles, but it also requires the team and Crosby to protect his routine so he can keep producing on the ice. Even as the Penguins chase playoff relevance, Crosby's example — balancing public demands with private discipline — remains a blueprint for sustaining greatness in a spotlight that never dims.
