
Five held with cocaine, MDMA and marijuana in Hyderabad
The accused, Mohit Sanjay Mehra, 33, a businessman residing in Narsingi, Hyderabad, was found in possession of 15 grams of cocaine and two mobile phones. The consumer, Nagaram Jason Raj, 28, a private employee from Padmarao Nagar, Secunderabad, was also apprehended.
An officer from the wing said that Mehra, originally from Mumbai and a B. Tech graduate in mechanical engineering, moved to Hyderabad in 2021. 'Following his divorce, he began frequenting pubs, developed the cocaine habit, and eventually started peddling to fund a lavish lifestyle. He allegedly sourced cocaine from a Mumbai supplier at ₹10,000 per gram and sold it in Hyderabad for ₹25,000 per gram,' said the officer.
Mehra has been involved in cocaine peddling for the past five months, targeting customers in Hyderabad willing to pay higher prices.
MDMA peddler nabbed
In a separate case, the Madhura Nagar police arrested a 34-year-old private employee from Hyderabad allegedly peddling MDMA that he had sourced from Bengaluru.
The accused, identified as Md. Rajak, was found in possession of 3.8 grams of the substance. An officer from the Madhura Nagar police said that Rajak had purchased the material in Bengaluru at ₹1,000 per gram and was selling it in the city for ₹5,000 per gram and that they had also tested him for drug consumption.
Rajak had allegedly travelled from Bengaluru to Hyderabad by train, arriving at Kacheguda, before being apprehended at his residence. He lives with his mother, while his brothers, identified as Tanu Khan and Apu Khan, are known rowdy sheeters.
Raid leads to seizure of 3 kg ganja
In a different case, two drug peddlers Esli Parvesh, 26, and Sunny, 19, were arrested during a raid conducted by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department on the Wednesday night. The officials seized three kilograms of dry ganja from the duo.
Four other accused, identified as Munthaj, Esli Rajini, Esli Sai Raj, and Kali Lakan are currently absconding. Efforts are underway to trace them. The seized contraband and mobile phones have been handed over to the Balanagar police for further investigation.

Police seized 15 gm of cocaine from their possession. Businessman, consumer held in Hyderabad; 15 gm of cocaine seized
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (PTI) A 33-year-old businessman allegedly involved in drug peddling and a 28-year-old consumer were arrested here, with 15 grams of cocaine seized from them, police said on Thursday. Based on credible information, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) conducted an operation on August 10 within the limits of Langer House Police Station and apprehended the duo. Police also seized two mobile phones, with the total value of the seizure estimated at Rs 3.95 lakh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Y V S Sudheendra said. According to police, the accused sourced cocaine from a supplier in Mumbai for Rs 10,000 per gram and sold it to customers for Rs 25,000 per gram, a statement said.
