The Indiana Fever picked up a much-needed win on Tuesday night, improving to 7-7 on the season with a 94-86 road victory against the Seattle Storm.

Caitlin Clark's shooting struggles made headlines, but she still recorded nine assists as Kelsey Mitchell (26 points, five 3-pointers) and Aliyah Boston (career-high 31 points) carried the load offensively for Indiana.
However, there were two players who did not crack head coach Stephanie White's rotation on Tuesday: DeWanna Bonner and Makayla Timpson.
Bonner, who has scored the third-most career points in WNBA history, missed her fifth consecutive game due to personal reasons, with a concerning report emerging before the game that the team is headed for a "breakup" with the veteran star.

In the middle of the Fever-Storm game, Bonner made an Instagram post that showed where her focus lies outside of basketball.

She shared a photo of the children she shares with her wife, Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas, with the caption, "My greatest loves!! I love you!"
Bonner's post drew comments from Thomas and WNBA veterans DiJonai Carrington and Isabelle Harrison, but perhaps the boldest one came from Timpson — a Fever rookie who did not see any game action against the Storm.
Shortly after the game, she commented "❤️❤️" on Bonner's post, making her the only Indiana player to respond publicly to their absent teammate.
Timpson's response stood in contrast to White's reaction when she was asked about the reports of Bonner leaving the team.

The Fever coach quickly moved on from the question, stating said she had not been talking to Bonner and was focused on the rest of the team.
That focus has not included Timpson of late, despite the lack of frontcourt options in Bonner's absence. She did not see the court during the Fever's three-game road trip against the Golden State Valkyries, Las Vegas Aces and the Storm.
The second-round pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft has played 11 minutes all season, averaging 0.6 points and 0.4 rebounds in the five games she has appeared in.

Rose Lavelle Begins Her Path Back To Starring For The U.S. Women's Team

After a six-month hiatus, Rose Lavelle has returned to the U.S. women's national team. The star midfielder was last with the squad for its final matches of 2024, when it traveled overseas to play both England and the Netherlands. But then she underwent ankle surgery in December and has been recovering ever since. Lavelle appeared in her first game for Gotham FC on June 7 in a 2-1 loss to Kansas City, and has been building minutes ever since. This week, she's in USWNT camp ahead of three upcoming matches: two against the Republic of Ireland on June 26 (at DICK's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado) and June 29 (at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio), and one against Canada on July 2 (at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.). It will be the squad's final camp until October. "We're incredibly excited to have her back with us for multiple reasons," manager Emma Hayes said. "First of all, her personality and character in the locker room has been sorely missed the past six months. She's supremely gifted as a football player and playing between sort of the eight and ten positions. She's someone who, I think, as she's maturing as a top-level footballer, is where her game has been going the last 12 months. She's starting to add new dimensions in between the lines." Lavelle has always been one of the USWNT's more unique and creative players. She's left-footed and her finesse on the ball comes naturally. She's elusive and can slip through the midfield or go on a 50-yard run untouched and score a goal in a World Cup final (as she did in 2019 to lift the USWNT to a 2-0 win over the Netherlands). "She's rare," U.S. legend Megan Rapinoe told FOX Sports ahead of the 2023 World Cup. "I've never played with anyone like Rose in my whole career, club or country. She just glides. There's stuff she can do that nobody else can do." Which is why Hayes is so relieved to have her back. Since last summer's Paris Olympics, when the USWNT won gold for the first time since the London Games in 2012, Hayes hasn't had her full squad available. For example: Mallory Swanson and Sophia Wilson are both pregnant; Trinity Rodman has been dealing with back issues (though she recently posted an Instagram video of her getting back on the pitch); and Tierna Davidson tore her ACL. Naomi Girma missed the first part of 2025 with a calf injury, though she has since returned to the national team, and now Lavelle is back, too. If the U.S. had to compete without so many key players, 2025 is the time to do it with the next major tournament not until the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. Plus, these absences have allowed Hayes to give experience to younger players and broaden the player pool for the future. Hayes has called up 27 new players since she took over the team last year, with 19 earning their USWNT debuts. This roster is particularly inexperienced. If you don't count the six players who have been to world championships at the senior level – which includes Lavelle, Girma, Emily Sonnett, Sam Coffey, Lynn Biyendolo and Croix Bethune – the average number of caps in this camp is 3.3 per player. Which is why the younger players are looking forward to getting the opportunity to train and play with someone like Lavelle during this window. "I haven't played with Rose yet, but so far, talking to her and chatting with her off the field – I've seen her play – and I'm so excited to build a connection there on the field," forward Michelle Cooper said this week. "I'm just excited to see her energy and her personality translate on the field and in the locker room." Added Emma Sears, who was on a few rosters with Lavelle late last year and shares a love for the state of Ohio (where Lavelle grew up and Sears went to high school and college): "She's so talented. She's so technical." "And any opportunity I get to play with her," Sears continued, "I think that is super awesome just to be able to learn from her experience and the way that she sees the field is something that I definitely look up to." Fever move on from 2-time WNBA champ DeWanna Bonner amid rumors of fractured relationship

The Indiana Fever are moving on from two-time WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner. The team made the announcement Wednesday after weeks of speculation that there were tensions between the two sides. Bonner had been benched after starting the first three games in Indiana and had missed the last five due to personal reasons. "I want to sincerely thank the Indiana Fever for the opportunity to be part of the Fever franchise," Bonner said in a statement released by the team. "Despite our shared goals and excitement heading into the season, I felt the fit did not work out and I appreciate the organization's willingness to grant my request to move on, particularly at this point in my career. "I wish the Fever great success as they continue to build around this dynamic group of young players." Bonner's statement sheds light on the rumored fractured relationship between the organization and the six-time All-Star, which seemingly began after she was benched in the starting lineup in favor of Lexie Hull after just three games. Bonner, 37, averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 rebounds a game during her brief stint, which began with her moving into third place on the league's all-time scoring list in the season opener. But reports indicated that the expectations from both sides were not in alignment. Sources told Front Office Sports that the fit was "off," and that Bonner had expected to be a starter in Indiana. League sources also told the outlet that it had reached a point where Bonner had "no interest" in returning, and instead was eyeing the Phoenix Mercury or the Atlanta Dream as potential landing spots. Bonner will have 48 hours to get picked up off waivers where the remainder of her $200,000 contract will be assumed by that team. If not, she'll become an unrestricted free agent and can sign for the prorated veteran minimum. The Fever signed guard Aari McDonald in place of Bonner. She averaged 11 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in three appearances with the Fever this season after she was picked up via the WNBA's emergency hardship exception. Deion Sanders Makes Feelings Clear About Michael Irvin's Home Visit Amid Health Issues

Deion Sanders Makes Feelings Clear About Michael Irvin's Home Visit Amid Health Issues originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Colorado Buffaloes head coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders' health issues have forced him to step away from Boulder. Advertisement The 57-year-old said he's doing okay on Wednesday and will send out a health update once he returns to the team. On May 30, he appeared on former NFL defensive back Asante Samuel's Say What Needs To Be Said' podcast and claimed 'what I'm dealing with is on a whole nother level' after losing 14 pounds. Even though it is currently unclear what he is dealing with, the health issues Sanders previously battled include blood clots in his legs, the amputation of two toes and the removal of the sides of his left calf, according to a USA Today report. As the former Dallas Cowboys player is recovering at his estate in Texas, fellow NFL legend Michael Irvin paid him a visit on Wednesday to hopefully raise his spirits. 'My bishop always said when your loved ones are dealing with any difficult issues, you must find ways to make them laugh and change their frequency,' the 59-year-old posted on X. 'I love you to life and forever, my brother @DeionSanders 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️.' Advertisement Sanders appreciated the kind words and showed his support for Irvin on Thursday. 'Thank you for coming to see me yesterday and boosting my spirits,' he wrote in a recent Instagram post. 'Y'all know Mike a fool 😂😂.' As his recovery continues, Sanders could return to the Buffaloes' sidelines in the coming weeks so he can mentor and lead one of the country's most notable teams. When the spring transfer portal opened on April 17, he recruited former Campbell Camels wide receiver Sincere Brown and Memphis Tigers offensive lineman Xavier Hill. However, Sanders isn't stopping there he plans to target every aspect of the team such as players, coaching staff and personnel, according to Sports Illustrated. He said the special teams unit looks solid but wants to improve every other area, including the quarterback, which will be given to Kaidon Salter or Julian Lewis. Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders Isaiah J. Downing-Imagn Images Although there is no word on who is winning the quarterback battle between Salter and Lewis, one of them is expected to start under center in Colorado's first game of the regular season against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Aug. 29.
