Reports: Alabama RB Jam Miller to miss opener vs. Florida State
Miller sustained the injury during a scrimmage on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed Miller went in for the procedure on Saturday evening.
"Jam should recover fully with a timetable for his return yet to be determined," he said in a statement issued Sunday.
Miller, a senior, had 145 carries for 668 yards and seven touchdowns last season for No. 8 Alabama. He also had 16 catches for 155 yards and a score.
Richard Young and Daniel Hill as well as Louisiana transfer Dre Washington likely will handle the rushing duties against the Seminoles, who are unranked in the Associated Press preseason Top 25.
The Crimson Tide went 9-4 in 2024. The Seminoles were 2-10.

Bama Rush girls celebrate in the streets as they learn which sororities they got accepted into
The newest members of the University of Alabama 's sororities have officially been chosen, marking the end of this year's Bama Rush. Back in 2021, a series of women who were trying to join the University of Alabama's Panhellenic community documented their road to being accepted into one of the 18 different sororities at the school, and uploaded it all to TikTok under the hashtag #BamaRush. Their videos quickly exploded, and many people on the web became enthralled with watching the lengthy process play out. Since then, every time August rolls around, #BamaRush goes viral once again, as a whole new set of freshmen hopefuls at the University of Alabama and other Southern schools put their best foot forward to vie for the chance to get accepted into the sororities on campus. This year was no different... and after nine days of battling it out to see who would earn a spot in the coveted sororities, the recruitment period concluded on Sunday, August 17. Known as Bid Day, about 2,400 women finally found out which sorority they'd be joining - if any - during a ceremony at UA's Bryant-Denny Stadium. It's tradition for the chosen women to run through the campus to Sorority Row, and photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed the newest recruits excitedly bolting to their new homes. The women were seen celebrating all over the campus, hugging, and cheering moments after learning their fates. For a fee of $4,500, potential new members (known as PNMs) can receive comprehensive coaching, conversation prep, and styling from Addicks. She also offers advice on securing recommendations, networking, and even fine-tuning clients' social media presence. Some moms try to hire Addicks, a University of Georgia alumna based in Atlanta, as early as junior year of high school, before they even know where their daughter will be attending for school. And with the boom of 'RushTok' Addicks has seen in surge in clients from other corners of the country. 'They are coming in droves from the North, Midwest and West because they want a part of that,' she said. She noted that recruitment can be 'isolating and hard,' especially when PNMs see their friends getting bids to the houses they want and were dropped from. And, in the cases where mothers are heavily involved in the process, some parents will 'spiral' when their daughters' options dwindle during rush, causing panic. 'I had a woman reach out to me this week, and she was very distraught because her daughter had been dropped from all but one,' Addicks revealed. It's a longstanding tradition for them to run through the campus after learning their fates While she can't know for sure what went wrong, she would have to guess it's because the client doesn't have 'much of a social media presence.' PNMs need to be Google-able, she said, though they shouldn't be posting thirst traps aplenty, she noted. 'It may not hurt you at some sororities, but why risk it?' she said. 'Because it's not going to help.' Still, not everyone who goes through recruitment will get a bid. 'My phone will ring off the hook next week for people who did not have successful rush,' she admitted.

'I want to be one of the best players in the world,' says loan star Mikey Moore as Jayden Meghoma joins him at Rangers
Mikey Moore insists he sees his season-long loan at Rangers as a platform to help him become one of the best players in world football. The 18-year-old winger signed a new long-term contract at Tottenham Hotspur shortly after agreeing his move across the border and made his debut for the Ibrox outfit in their 4-2 home win over Alloa in the Premier Sports Cup. Moore started brightly, setting up Nedim Bajrami for the opening goal, and showed flashes of his ability before being replaced by Thelo Aasgaard on 69 minutes. He promises there is far more to come, though, and has set his sights high when addressing how big an incentive it is to show he can go on to become a bona-fide English Premier League player. 'It's massive for me,' said Moore, who has been joined at Rangers by his England Under-19 team-mate Jayden Meghoma after he completed a loan move from Brentford. 'I want to go and play in the biggest competitions and I want to be one of the best players in the world, hopefully. 'I've signed a new contract at Spurs, but, at the minute, I'm focused on playing here. I'm just buzzing to go and play some massive games at this football club. 'I want to become a better player here and I think there are massive opportunities. 'I just want to play as many games as possible, score as many goals and excite as many people as I can.' And Moore is clear that he would like the chance to star in Tuesday's Champions League qualifying play-off first leg against Belgians Club Brugge. 'It's a massive game, as every game is when you play for Rangers,' he said. 'I'm excited for it. 'I saw some of the games in the earlier rounds and it's been good to qualify, so it's a massive opportunity for me and all the boys. I can't wait.' Moore made five outings for Spurs in the group stage of the Europa League last season, but missed out on the 1-1 group stage draw with Rangers at Ibrox because of illness. He then watched from the bench as the London club went on to win the tournament under former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou. He hopes those experiences under his belt will help him kick on in UEFA competition for Rangers this term. 'It was a really good season in Europe for me and for the team, so I've had some good experiences and I'm ready to go and show more,' he said. 'I want to go and make more of an impact on a European stage.' Meanwhile, new arrival Meghoma declared himself 'hungry and excited' to get going at Ibrox after being reunited with manager Russell Martin. The 19-year-old left-back has joined Rangers on loan in a deal which paves the way for Jefte to complete an anticipated move back to Brazil to sign for Palmeiras. Meghoma made his first-team debut for Southampton under Martin, making four cup appearances in all before signing for Brentford last summer. He has also made four appearances for the Bees and spent the second half of last season on loan at Preston. He told the Rangers website: 'I am very excited to be here, it is a fantastic club and I know a lot about the rich history of Rangers. 'When the deal was presented to me, I thought straight away that it would be a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family. 'The main thing for me is getting results. Rangers is a big club and I am ready, I am hungry and excited to get going.' Ibrox head coach Martin added: 'I am really pleased to welcome Jayden to Rangers.
