Orlando Pirates news: Two clubs target Mofokeng

Orlando Pirates supporters should not be overly surprised. Relebohile Mofokeng's 12 goals and 15 assists are showing results.
The latest report says the 20-year-old Betway Premiership winger, who can only play as a number 10, has attracted interest from two Israeli giants.
The Orlando Pirates attacker also earned continental experience last season. Mofokeng scored five goals and made three assists in the CAF Champions League.

'Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana winger Relebohile Mofokeng has attracted the interest
of Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv,' iDiski Times reported.
Kaizer Chiefs news: Junior Khanye and Percy Tau
'Haifa has been tracking the 20-year-old for the past season and are aiming to lure him from the club to bolster their strike for the new season after finishing third in the league behind Tel Aviv and champions Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
'With UEFA Conference League football on offer, it could be a tempting next step for the promising attacker of Pirates, who will be keen to test himself out of the Premier Soccer League, should the clubs reach an agreement.
'Word is, though, they could face competition from rivals Tel Aviv, who have also taken up interest in Mofokeng after his impressive performances for Bafana and in the CAF Champions League this past campaign,' the report added.

Fitness update on Kaizer Chiefs star Rushwin Dortley

Rushwin Dortley settled into life at Kaizer Chiefs quickly. A cruelly-timed injury, however, cut his debut campaign with the Glamour Boys. 23-year-old Dortley is in line to return in the early weeks of 2025-2026. Given Msimango and Inacio Miguel have been the first-choice defensive pairing in his absence. The first half of the campaign was one to forget for Chiefs. Rushwin Dortley, however, was one of the true bright sparks of a season threatening to peter out into nothing. The 23-year-old central defender from Cape Town immediately looked assured and at home in big matches for Chiefs, and indeed South Africa. Losing Dortley in March was a massive blow as the youngster needed surgery. We could see him back in action near the start of the 2025-2026 campaign. That would feel like a new signing for the fans. Dortley quickly became a key pillar in the defence, making 21 appearances across all competitions before being struck down. The technical team will need to be cautious when they reintroduce him to the fold after such a lengthy layoff, but it's undoubtedly a huge plus to see him on the comeback trail. REVEALED: Why Chiefs won't be signing Percy Tau Rushwin Dortley trains with his Kaizer Chiefs team at the Toyota Stadium. Image: @lorenzKO/X It's amazing how quickly things can change in football. The margins between success and failure have never been finer; failure to win the Nedbank Cup and another finish outside of the top eight would surely have been a step too far for many Chiefs fans. Instead, the Nedbank Cup is securely in the trophy cabinet, and Amakhosi have two games to secure their MTN8 status for 2025-2026. Best Kaizer Chiefs XI with TWO dream signings? Miguel Cardoso on how it call came together for Sundowns against Ulsan

Mamelodi Sundowns 'released a lot of energy in the right way' to edge Ulsan HD 1-0 and get their 2025 Fifa Club World Cup campaign off to the best possible start at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday night. Iqraam Rayners' 36th-minute strike settled a match delayed 55 minutes by a storm from a 6pm kickoff to just before 7pm (1am on Wednesday morning SA time). Downs registered their first Club World Cup win in their second participation, the first for an African team in the new 32-team format. They went top of Group F after Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense drew the earlier game. After losing the Caf Champions League final 3-2 on aggregate to Pyramids FC last month, the victory will lift Downs' spirits immensely, though they have tough assignments coming against Borussia at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday (6pm SA time) and Fluminense at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 25 (9pm). 'We are very happy to fulfil our dream and reach our objective by winning a match in the new format of the Club World Cup,' Cardoso said.

The game was delayed by over an hour due to adverse weather conditions in Orlando, Florida. Sundowns started the brighter of the two teams by controlling possession and creating a few chances early in the game. Club captain Themba Zwane was given a rare start after missing out on last month's CAF Champions League final defeat to Pyramids FC of Egypt. Rayners' pace caused the Ulsan defence all sorts of problems and he thought he had given Sundowns the lead in the 31st minute but VAR intervened as he was in an offside position. The 29-year-old was not to be denied three minutes later after finding himself through on goal following a great pass by Lucas Ribeiro. Rayners controlled the ball before putting it past the onrushing Ulsan goalkeeper Hyeon-woo Jo and into the bottom corner. Ulsan took the game to Sundowns in the second half but the South African champions defended well and held on for all three points. It was a perfect start for Downs who have now taken a massive step towards securing a place in the last 16 of the global showpiece. The Brazilians could have also closed off the game after a couple of good breakaway situations but they were not clinical in front of goal. In the end, Rayners' goal proved to be the difference in the hard-fought encounter.
