Maalik Box Office Day 4: Rajkummar Rao's Film Sees Lowest Single-Day Collection With Rs 1 Crore

Maalik Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajkummar Rao's Maalik, with Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee, earned Rs 1 crore on Day 4, totaling Rs 15.59 crore.
Maalik Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajkummar Rao's Maalik, which hit the big screens last Friday, started its journey on a promising note with a solid ensemble cast including Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Over the weekend, the film held its ground well. But come Monday, the film hit its slowest day yet. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, Maalik added just Rs 1 crore to its box office tally on Day 4. With that, the film's total collection now stands a little above Rs 15 crore.
While the dip isn't surprising given it was a Monday (and Mondays are notorious for pulling the brakes on most theatrical runs), it's still a crucial phase for the film to maintain momentum through the week.
As per early estimates, Maalik collected Rs 1.34 crore on its fourth day at the box office — its lowest single-day earnings so far. But given it was a Monday, the dip in footfall isn't entirely unexpected.
The film opened with Rs 3.75 crore on Friday. Over the weekend, it gained some momentum, bringing in Rs 5.25 crore each on Saturday and Sunday. With Monday's numbers in, Maalik's total collection now stands at Rs 15.59 crore. While the weekday drop was anticipated, the film will need steady numbers through the week.
On Monday, Maalik recorded an overall 8.22 per cent Hindi occupancy in theatres. Despite the dip, Rajkummar Rao's political drama is faring better than Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan, which stars Vikrant Massey and marks Shanaya Kapoor's debut. That film has struggled to make a mark since day one.
However, both Hindi releases are facing a tough challenge from the international juggernaut Superman, starring David Corenswet. The superhero film has already raked in over Rs 25 crore in India over its opening weekend.
Directed by Pulkit, Maalik stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. The film also features Bengali cinema icon Prosenjit Chatterjee, former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, and Saurabh Sachdeva. The supporting cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and Baljinder Kaur.
The News18 review of Maalik states, 'Maalik tries hard to be the next Mirzapur but ends up feeling like its distant cousin who was never invited to the family reunion. Pankaj Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya's Mirzapur gave us a gritty storyline and iconic one-liners; however, Maalik serves as a recycled crime saga with no real punch. The violence feels random, the plot goes haywire post-interval, and the emotional beats just don't land. It's like watching someone try to recreate a gangster masterpiece with leftover scenes from Mirzapur."

Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's Saiyaara beats Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava to become Bollywood's highest-grosser of 2025 overseas

Filmmaker Mohit Suri's Saiyaara has brought a wave of romance back to cinemas and has broken several box office records. Now, according to Sacnilk, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's romantic drama has achieved another milestone by surpassing the international collections of Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava in just 12 days. Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's Saiyaara beats Chhaava overseas. Saiyaara surpasses Chhaava's international collection The trade tracking site reported that in just 12 days since its release, Saiyaara has overtaken the lifetime international collection of ₹91 crore for Chhaava—which also starred Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna—by grossing ₹94 crore overseas. With this milestone, the film has emerged as Bollywood's highest-grossing film of 2025 in the international market. The international collections of some other Bollywood films are as follows: Housefull 5 ( ₹70.25 crore), Sitaare Zameen Par ( ₹66.75 crore), and Murder Mubarak ( ₹54.00 crore). The film has also surpassed the international collection of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Thudarum ( ₹93.80 crore), claiming second place on the list of highest-grossing Indian films internationally—just behind Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan, which collected ₹124.50 crore. Considering the film features newcomers, this is a significant milestone. Ahaan and Aneet are currently in Singapore, celebrating the success of their latest romantic drama, Saiyaara. The film has so far raked in an impressive ₹413 crore worldwide and continues to perform strongly at the box office. With Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 slated for release this Friday (1 August), it remains to be seen whether Saiyaara's momentum will slow down or if the film will continue to cast its spell on audiences. Meanwhile, Chhaava, helmed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, still remains the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, earning ₹ 807.88 crore worldwide at the box office. The film stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Akshaye Khanna as Emperor Aurangzeb and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale. About Saiyaara Backed by Aditya Chopra's YRF and helmed by Mohit Suri—known for Aashiqui 2, Murder 2, and Ek Villain, among others—Saiyaara is a romantic musical drama. It has received praise from critics, and industry figures such as Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Karan Johar and others have also showered love on the film.
