Adani University Ushers In Industry-Ready Cohort With 'Navdiksha 2025'
Adani University has inaugurated its academic induction programme, 'Navdiksha 2025', welcoming a fresh cohort of students into its flagship integrated BTech MBA/M Tech programmes.
'Navdiksha 2025', held early this week, underscored the university's commitment to preparing India's youth for a new industrial era shaped by Artificial Intelligence (AI), sustainability and nation-building.
Delivering the opening remarks at the ceremony, Professor Sunil Jha, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, reinforced the increasing importance of physics, chemistry, and mathematics in an era of 'physical AI'.
Professor Jha urged students to see beyond coding and understand the mechanics of the real world. 'As AI integrates with robotics and automation, grasping physical laws will define success,' he said.
Renowned management consultant and Harvard University alumnus, Dr Ram Charan, reflected on his six decades of experience across continents.
'Find your God-given talent, follow it with commitment, and never stop learning,' he said, advising students to reflect daily, ask questions relentlessly, and approach university as a discovery ground for purpose and joy.
The integrated B.Tech MBA/M Tech programmes are designed in line with the government's National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It also reflects the varsity's ethos of fostering deep scientific acumen, multidisciplinary learning, and leadership in real-world applications across technology, energy, and infrastructure.
Dr Ravi P. Singh, Provost, Adani University, welcomed students from across India, emphasising that the integrated programmes -- ranging from computer science to energy engineering -- prepare them for real-world impact.
'Whether your focus is AI, sustainability, or infrastructure, you are at the right place, at the right time,' he said. He also challenged students to create their own queues in life rather than follow others blindly and to view learning as an act of nation-building.
Further, Adani Group Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), Sudipta Bhattacharya, presented a compelling roadmap for the future. He framed the AI revolution as the first industrial shift to challenge human cognition, urging students to become bold and curious innovators.
'Machines can now think. But only humans can believe, collaborate, and create with purpose,' he said.
Mr Bhattacharya also highlighted the Adani Group's ongoing $90 billion investment push as a massive opportunity for future professionals in technology and infrastructure.

Odisha to adopt HAWK for wildlife crime monitoring
BHUBANESWAR: In a major step towards tightening the noose around poachers and wildlife criminals, the state government is planning to replicate the Hostile Activity Watch Kernel (HAWK) system, an advanced data-driven platform that has revolutionised wildlife crime monitoring and enforcement in Kerala. Addressing the state-level DFO conference here, PCCF (Wildlife)-cum-chief wildlife warden Prem Kumar Jha said the state wildlife wing will soon use HAWK technology to replace manual documentation of wildlife crimes, and equip forest field staff and wildlife crime investigating officials with realtime data tracking, analysis and intelligence generation. The state will also leverage the cutting-edge technology for effective wildlife management. The cloud-based information management system used by the Kerala Forest department to combat wildlife crime will enhance forest officials' ability to prevent and address illegal wildlife trade and related activities, sources said. Jha said the state is also planning to launch PRAHAR application for submission of monthly progress report at divisional-level for regular monitoring of forest and wildlife management and to improve transparency. He spoke on other advanced technologies being used for forest and wildlife management. Use of AI camera towers and AI integrated trail guard cameras have immensely helped officials in Similipal and other forest landscapes to monitor movement of the wildlife and crackdown against the wildlife criminals. Use of thermal drone and other technologies have also proven to be huge success, he said.

The US security and exchange commission had alleged that American investors were not informed that the group paid bribes to secure contracts. The Adani Group has denied the allegations. Gandhi's attempt to link the two comes days after the debate on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, during which the Wayanad MP and other Opposition leaders claimed PM Modi didn't say a word against the US' claims of brokering the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. To be sure, both the PM and external affairs minister S Jaishankar said in the House that no foreign leader asked India to stop the conflict. According to a senior Congress leader, Gandhi's attempt to link the PM's alleged silence with the Adani investigation underlines the plan to up the ante on the issue in the coming days. 'Along with SIR, the tariff is a big issue for us. Gandhi's tweet also comes a day before he is hosting a dinner for INDIA group leaders to further unite the group on these issues,' the leader said.
