Ellen DeGeneres has been mercilessly mocked over her new-build home in the English countryside, with furious Brits labelling the mansion a 'monstrosity'.
The former talk show host and her partner Portia De Rossi, 52, moved into the hilltop home in Oxfordshire less than a year after swapping the US for the UK to avoid living under the Trump administration.
The couple is thought to have moved into the modern home following a series of disasters including flooding at their previous abode, a $20 million (£15 million) Cotswolds farmhouse, which DeGeneres said is now on the market.
But the 'beautiful, old' stone farmhouse is a far cry from the glass-fronted house the couple now calls home - with pictures of the couple's new house dividing opinion.
Steve Loftus, a businessman and utility industry expert, described the futuristic home as 'a concrete and glass monstrosity.'
Other X users likened the house to a 'remodeled community college', a 'factory' and a 'water treatment plant in Arizona circa 1976.'

The sprawling single-storey house was built by a UK-based developer which described by it as an attempt to 'redefine rural modern living'.

The architect specializes in restoring industrial buildings, with the property unrecognizable from the ramshackle farmyard which previously stood on the site.
The farmhouse stood empty for many years before it was finally sold as a derelict building only fit for redevelopment to the developer for almost £2million.
Planning permission was granted to demolish the farmhouse and erect a 'replacement dwelling' and for the surrounding site to be landscaped.
The cost of the home is unknown but reports suggest the TV personality could have bought it for anywhere between $20 million and $27 million.
It is made up of five bedrooms and is built around a Japanese style courtyard garden in the centre.
Pictures of the interior show a double height living room with exposed beams and minimalistic stone and wooden furnishings.
The hilltop position and huge glass windows mean it boats panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
For privacy, the home is said to be set in 100 acres of unspoiled grounds, which the couple have used to keep their small flock of sheep and chickens.
It is about a 30-minute drive from their original home and planning documents show it has a 'sustainable drainage system' and is not 'at risk of flooding'.

A Cotswolds property expert previously told the Mail that 'It's plain that Ellen and Portia love [the house].
'Everything has been done very discreetly so it's not clear what the terms of the deal was but it seems that it has recently changed hands for not much less than they paid for their previous place.
'To buy two properties for eight figure sums in the space of a few months really is unusual, even given the many multi-millionaires around here.'

The news of his holiday is unlikely to go down well with DeGeneres, who revealed only last week that she had decided to stay in the UK 'for good' because of Trump's re-election.

DeGeneres is a well-known collector of 'multi-million dollar homes', according to People, including a $32 million (£24 million) property in Montecito where Prince Harry and Meghan live.
In 2023, she revealed that she had bought and sold 'over 50 houses' including one property in Malibu which was previously owned by Brad Pitt.
Earlier this year, it was reported that she had put two homes in Montecito on the market which are thought to be among her last remaining properties in California.
