As the Devil May Cry anime soars up Netflix's most-watched list, the DmC games on Steam are getting a boost of up to 20 times the player count
Netflix's new Devil May Cry anime has proven to be incredibly popular on the streaming service, making it to number four in the top ten global English-language shows. It also seems to have inspired people to go and play the games, as Devil May Cry 5 and more have seen a huge spike in players.
The new anime follows game protagonist and half-demon Dante before we ever met him on consoles. In the show, he's a demon hunter for hire who has to save the world from a demonic invasion and the White Rabbit, a foe we only saw in the Devil May Cry 3 manga previously. So, this is a much younger Dante than we're used to.
As spotted on ResetEra, the anime is only behind Arcane for the number of hours watched in its first week. It's even ahead of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and that show drew loads of people back to the sci-fi game, just like Devil May Cry is doing with, well, Devil May Cry.
Since the show was released, the number of people playing Devil May Cry 5 on Steam has gotten about ten times higher. It's even pushed the game into the global top sellers, which is pretty impressive considering that's ranked by revenue and the game is currently 75% off.
Other games in the series have benefitted too. The confusingly named DmC: Devil May Cry is up about five times its normal player count, and the HD Collection which contains 1, 2, and 3, is up more than 20 times what it was before the anime aired and even has a new all-time concurrent player peak.
In Devil May Cry 5, you can control Dante, Nero, and a new character called V, so it's worth a go if you've not played anything from the series in a while.

Pedro Pascal Has Had A Massive Year, But I Just Watched One Of His 2025 Movies That No One Is Talking About
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's safe to say Pedro Pascal is having a very good year. Between being a part of one of the biggest 2025 TV shows with The Last of Us Season 2 to having large roles in two of the biggest releases on the 2025 movie schedule, we've seen a lot of the former Game of Thrones actor. However, while everyone is talking about The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, there's one movie that seems to have flown under the radar: Freaky Tales. If you haven't heard of Freaky Tales, just know that it's an anthology film set in Oakland in 1987, telling four underdog stories – be it in sports, the world of crime, the East Bay's hip hop scene, or a battle between punks and Nazi skinheads. Now that's streaming with an HBO Max subscription, there's no reason not to watch this Pedro Pascal movie no one is talking about… HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthPay $9.99 a month for its With Ads plan, with three tiers available for subscribers. You can also prepay for a year and save up to 20%.View Deal Freaky Tales Is A Wild And Blood-Soaked Anthology Film Will All Kinds Of Surprises Don't worry, you're not going to find any spoilers that weren't already teased in the Freaky Tales trailer below, but just know that this is a wild and blood-soaked anthology film where all four stories – 'Strength in Numbers: The Gilman Strikes Back,' 'Don't Fight the Feeling,' 'Born to Mack,' and 'The Legend of Sleepy Floyd' – share a common conneection. It's campy, it's violent, and it's fun as hell. And then there are the surprises throughout Freaky Tales. With some outrageous cameos, including one that I'm still laughing about days later, pop culture references, and one shocking turn after another, this crazy anthology film is something else! Like The Last Of Us And The Fantastic Four, Pedro Pascal Plays A Father Forced To Make A Grave Decision Pedro Pascal has played some great dads and father figures in recent years, with The Wild Robot, The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, The Last of Us, and The Mandalorian quickly coming to mind. This is the same for Freaky Tales, as the in-demand actor, who had to drop out of another great 2025 horror flick, Weapons, plays a former enforcer who's tasked with making a grave decision after the birth of his first child. Again, I won't give anything away, but his character finds himself in quite a pickle where there's only one, and incredibly violent, way out. I Honestly Don't Know How This Flew Under The Radar When I was writing about all the new 2025 action movies I wanted to see, I made sure to include Freaky Tales, as the premise and cast had me interested to see how it'd all go down. Back then, and even now, I haven't come across anyone else who's watched this movie, and I'm struggling to figure out how it flew under the radar for so long. With Captain Marvel and Masters of the Air's Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directing, a cast that includes Jay Ellis as NBA legend Sleepy Floyd, Ironheart's Dominique Thorne, Ben Mendelsohn, and the late Angus Cloud, and some of the wildest gore I've seen all year, this checks all the boxes. Maybe now, with the movie streaming on HBO Max, this will change. Don't be like me and wait so long to watch Freaky Tales, because this is one wild-as-hell anthology film you won't want to miss.

‘Brutal' Meghan Accused of ‘Vicious, Nasty Move' Toward Kate as Harry & William's Relationship Takes an Unexpected Turn
People have always been interested in the relationship between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. This preceded the feud between Prince William and Prince Harry, but in the past few years, as the relationship between the brothers deteriorated, people have been even more invested in how the two wives get along, if they get along at all. And now some are taking a business decision on the part of Markle as an attack on Middleton. talked to royal expert Hugo Vickers, who criticized the fact that Markle will release a holiday special this December on Netflix, something that is said to clash with Kate Middleton's annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. More from StyleCaster Kate Delivers Emotional Statement With William a Day After Their Serious Health Alert Serious Health Alert Issued Weeks After Kate Revealed She Still Can't 'Function Normally' Post-Cancer Related: Did William really cheat on Kate? 'It's always said that whenever Catherine, the Princess of Wales, starts something, Meghan Markle does something else to cap it, or in some ways clash with it,' Vickers said. Another source told the outlet, 'This is just the type of vicious, nasty move that is coming to define Meghan.' Vickers referred to the move as 'brutal,' adding. 'Obviously, the initiative of the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey is incredibly moving and incredibly special, and is done for the benefit of the rest of the world, for all the people who've been suffering, all the people who've helped with charities, all that sort of thing, so it's all for the public good,' he said, claiming Markle's holiday special isn't anywhere near the same. This all comes after recent reports regarding the brothers have been contradictory, to say the least. The Daily Beast reported that, according to a friend of William, 'He absolutely f—ing hates' Harry. That same source added, 'William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done. Charles is the king; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fiber of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.' Recent reports also indicated William and Kate's friends refer to Markle's brand, As Ever, by a shady nickname, 'As If,' though there was no clarification about whether Prince William and Kate Middleton also used the nickname. Similarly, Kate Middleton's longtime right-hand woman, Natasha Archer, unfollowed Meghan Markle and her company after departing Kensington Palace, which was seen as a sign that the relationship between the two women isn't great. But there's also reportedly one thing that could bring the brothers closer together: the fact that their father, King Charles, is reportedly not doing well. A source told Parade that 'King Charles really isn't doing well,' adding that his health has been 'deteriorating more.' And that might just be the thing that pushes the brothers to finally put everything else aside and reconcile. 'It wouldn't be surprising if William and Harry reconnected a bit more over this,' the source added. 'This could be the thing that pushes it to happen.' So, while it seems the relationship between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle is strained at the moment, if their husbands reconcile, the two will probably be in each other's orbit again and that means they will likely make a point of, if not being friends, at least getting along. NEED TO KNOW Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have extended their Netflix deal to produce more new film and television projects The news came shortly before the release of season two of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan The couple's announcement included the confirmation of a With Love, Meghan holiday special, but the future of the series remains unknown Meghan Markle just dropped the trailer for the second season of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, giving fans a look at the star-studded upcoming episodes of her food and lifestyle show. The release comes on the heels of the news that Meghan and Prince Harry have struck a new deal with Netflix for future film and television projects. On Aug. 11, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be extending their creative partnership with the streamer through their Archewell Productions with a multi-year, first-look deal. 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand," Meghan, 44, said in a statement. "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally and celebrates our shared vision.' The update comes after it was widely reported in July that Harry and Meghan's initial five-year, $100 million deal with Netflix would not be renewed when it expires in September. In addition to the deal, the announcement came with the news of a With Love, Meghan holiday special, set to premiere in December. However, there's been no news yet about the possibility of future seasons of With Love, Meghan. Season two was announced shortly after With Love, Meghan premiered its debut season in March. The second season of the lifestyle show had already been filmed, with Michael Steed back as director. Netflix is also a partner with Meghan's lifestyle brand, As ever, and many of the products are featured on With Love, Meghan. Netflix's CEO, Ted Sarandos, recently said, "We're a passive partner in Meghan's company, and it's a big discovery model for us right now." The Duchess of Sussex told Inc that she was "building out a very different business plan" until she met with Josh Simon, Netflix's vice president of consumer products. "The reach from Netflix, coupled with my vision for the brand, felt like it was going to be a really perfect match," she said in the interview. She added, "They have tremendous experience on licensing deals and turning brands and shows into really good products, like Bridgerton,' referring to Shonda Rimes' royal-inspired series, which has expanded off-screen into fan experiences, concerts and more. It's also possible that Meghan will be turning her focus to other projects. The couple's Netflix press release about their latest deal included an announcement about a new documentary project, Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within. "In the heart of Uganda's Masaka region, where the shadows of the HIV/AIDS crisis linger, a small orphanage becomes a beacon of hope. Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within goes beyond the viral videos to reveal a vibrant, one-of-a-kind community where orphaned children transform hardship into joy, dancing their way toward healing, belonging, and the promise of a brighter future," said the release.
