Holly Willoughby gives pal Bradley Walsh a good 'scolding' and puts him in the 'naughty corner' as he larks about on popular British gameshow in hilarious throwback video

Daily Mail24-07-2025
Holly Willoughby took to her Instagram on Thursday to share a hilarious throwback video of herself 'scolding' pal Bradley Walsh as he larked about on the popular British gameshow, Play to the Whistle.
The comedy panel show sees two teams of three compete in a series of light-hearted games and topical quizzes - and the teams, made up of sporting personalities, comedians, and entertainment stars, are each led by a competitive team captain.
The throwback clip kicks off with the TV presenter, 44, warning team captain Bradley, 65, not to cheat, otherwise he would be disqualified from the game.
However things quickly escalated and after continuing to push Holly's boundaries the presenter took aim at Bradley as she threw her cards at him.
Captioning the throwback video she penned: 'Sometimes you just have to show Bradley Walsh who's boss! #throwbackthursday.
'Definitely worth watching till the end for my best throw ever!!!! You can continue to throw it back over on @ youtube follow and subscribe to Bear Laughs … my goodness we all need a laugh… Will add link on my story's… ❤️'
At the beginning of the clip Bradley declared, 'I won't cheat' before he cheekily held a towel over half of his face, leading Holly to tell him off.
Pointing at him, she said: 'If you seriously, take the towel off your mouth, now. No, seriously.'
The presenter then marched over towards Bradley, grabbed his arm, and escorted him over to the back of the set, aka his 'naughty corner'.
She jokingly scolded him like a mother, saying: 'Put your hands on your head, stay there. I've told you enough times and I've given you enough warnings, stay there.'
Bradley then turned round when Holly wasn't looking and mocked her by pulling several funny faces, leaving the audience and guests in fits of laughter.
Holly strutted back to the rest of the guests and carried on the show by asking them: 'What programme has been going the longest?' before suggesting guesses, including: Match Of The Day, or Coronation Street.
However, the rest of the guests and Holly got distracted for one moment as Bradley was up to his naughty antics again.
As Holly read out the question to the rest of his team, the TV show host could be seen hiding behind one of the panels, forcing Holly to stifle a laugh.

Bradley's team, Rob Beckett, 39, and Tom Daley, 31, spoke amongst themselves to try and work out the answer.
However, before they could get their guess in, Bradley piped up from the back, cheekily telling them the answer.
He said, '10th of September, 1960' before turning his back on everyone again.
Fuming, Holly shouted: 'Right! That's it, they're disqualified and we have ourselves a winner, it's the blue team!'
Bradley held his arms up in disbelief as he walked back to his team; however, he wasn't off the hook with Holly yet, as she playfully lobbed her cards at him.
The star dramatically fell and rolled around on the floor, leading the audience to erupt into laughter.

Play To The Whistle aired on ITV from April 11, 2015, to April 4, 2017, with Holly at the helm.
However, the show was axed after just three series, despite Holly and captains Bradley and Frank Lampard being 'big draws'.
A source told The Sun in 2017: 'ITV loved the format and panel shows are historically popular.
'Having Holly as host is a big draw, as are Bradley and Frank as captains. But it hasn't performed as they'd hoped, so they are resting it for now.'

Naga Munchetty's backstage tantrums revealed: Under-fire BBC Breakfast host is 'an absolute nightmare' to junior staff - and woe betide anyone who gets her porridge order wrong

Under-fire BBC presenter Naga Munchetty has a reputation for going 'ballistic' at junior staff, and humiliated an intern who didn't make her porridge perfectly, a source has claimed. A source, who previously worked with Naga, 50, on BBC Breakfast, revealed the TV host is 'an absolute nightmare', adding that she would 'kick off about the smallest of issues'. It comes as sources revealed Naga could face a probe from BBC bosses, and has been placed 'under review' amid claims bullied a junior colleague on the flagship morning show. A source told The Daily Mail: 'She's an absolute nightmare. She has a reputation for going at young members of staff and making them out to be fools. 'She would kick off about the smallest of issues, including one time she went ballistic over her breakfast not being prepared exactly how she likes it by an intern.' On one occasion, Naga refused to eat porridge delivered by an intern in an ad break, which is typically done, saying it was 'too hot for her to eat in the time she had, the source said. 'She said it's always made exactly the same way for her each day and would prefer if the same person made it who knows exactly how she likes it,' they added. 'The guy walked off the set utterly humiliated and went back to chuck it away before trying again in time for the next ad break. It was pretty brutal to watch.' A BBC spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. 'We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.' The Daily Mail has approached Naga's representatives for comment. It comes shortly after sources told The Sun that the BBC Breakfast host was 'under review' with bosses considering escalating complaints to a formal investigation amid concerns over her 'hard' and 'bullying' behaviour. Following the amount of people who have come forward to share their experiences with Naga, the BBC has officially moved to place the complaints under review. 'The review is to ascertain whether a full-on investigation is required and that could come in weeks', the source told The Sun. The journalist was reportedly previously spoken to by bosses over claims she bullied a female junior staff member as well as a complaint she used a slang term for a sexual act off-air at BBC Radio 5 Live. Naga used a slang term for a sex act during an off-air break in 2022, which stunned the studio and led to Naga being spoken to by bosses. It was then reported that last year, Naga hauled into a meeting by bosses over the alleged bullying of a junior female colleague on BBC Breakfast. Under-fire editor Richard Frediani (pictured) has reportedly taken an extended period of leave after an internal review of bullying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show Munchetty was also reportedly hauled into a meeting after she made a sex jibe during an ad break while hosting her radio show Recently, BBC Breakfast editor Richard Frediani reportedly took an extended period of leave after an internal review of bullying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show. It was previously claimed that the show's staff are feeling increasingly 'uneasy' around Frediani, with the former Head of ITV News accused of 'shaking' a female editor while working on the show. Richard has stepped back from the show, and while he had already taken time off to go on holiday, has mutually agreed to extend his break, according to The Sun. A source previously compared the workplace to 'The Hunger Games', saying the morning program had been 'ripped apart, with some staff members backing Naga and Richard, while others disagree with their approach. 'Breakfast is no longer just divided, it's been ripped apart,' told The Sun. They explained while many have welcomed the investigation into the workplace and Frediani, others support his 'tougher' and 'traditional journalistic' approach. And with the emergence of 'two camps' on the show, the latest revelations about Naga are said to have 'thrown a new twist on the scandal'. Amid the fallout, Munchetty's agents have reportedly 'held talks with rival station LBC' to explore opportunities for the journalist. A source told The Sun: 'The fallout of Richard Frediani's investigation created a stark 'him or her' narrative on Breakfast with Naga flung to the front line. 'The fact is she loves the BBC and her job but there's only so much external noise anyone is prepared to take. 'LBC would suit her well as the focus remains on news-led broadcasting, they take a hard line and there's far less of the fluffy nonsense involved in working at the BBC. 'Her team last week renewed historic talks with the Global radio station to see if there could be any work for her there.' Last month, new figures released by the broadcaster revealed the presenter was awarded a £10,000 increase in her annual salary. Her pay packet now sits at an eye-watering £355,000 - almost double that of her co-host Charlie Stayt. Stayt, 63, has remained in the £190,000 bracket as tensions between the pair are said to be 'rife'. Munchetty hosts BBC Breakfast on Thursdays to Saturdays with Charlie, while Jon Kay and Sally Nugent anchor the program from the start of the week.

We ditched the UK for Spain, we love the sun and relaxed culture, but paying bills & getting post is a total nightmare

A MUM who ditched the UK to live in sunny Spain has revealed it's not as easy as it seems. Becky, a mum-of-two, was sick of working to just pay the bills when she decided to move to Alicante in Spain, a port city known for its golden beaches. 3 3 3 In one viral clip, Becky said there is no chaotic morning rush for school and that teachers are much more relaxed. She revealed that not only do teachers give students kisses on the cheek, but parents always casually hang around the gate after saying goodbye to their kids. But now, Becky has revealed the truth about living in Spain and just how 'easy' it is. While she says Spain 'still has her heart,' she explains that some day-to-day tasks are a total nightmare to do abroad. In a short clip uploaded online, the content creator shared a detailed list of the struggles her family have faced since moving there. She said that paperwork isn't easy as you need seven documents and a stamp to get things verified. While UK post offers next day delivery and turns up at your doorstep, she said the reality in Spain is very different. "Spain: Parcel lost in the void. Try asking your neighbour, or their dog," she said. Becky said that customer service was also not up to par, while she was used to polite call staff in the UK, she said you're often left on hold in Spain before being hung up on. And bills were a total nightmare to pay as well, rather than being able to pay online, she said you have to go to the bank and pay in cash on specific days. Villajoyosa: The Colourful Jewel of Europe Becky said bank holidays are also hard to navigate as every town has their own ones rather than them being nationwide. She finished the video saying: "Lif ein Spain is amazing... but dont come here thinking it's 'plug and play.' "It's more, unplug, photocopy, replug, stamp and hope." The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @ bex_from_rain_to_spain with over 12k views and 200 likes. People were quick to take to the comments and it seemed many agreed with Becky. One person wrote: "Even speaking Spanish these things can be difficult." Moving house hacks 1. Declutter Before You Pack Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need.
