Emmerdale sex shock as passionate reunion confirmed for Robert and Aaron

Emmerdale sex shock as passionate reunion confirmed for Robert and Aaron

Metro3 days ago
John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth)'s attempts to discredit his brother and rival Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) backfire in forthcoming Emmerdale episodes – sending Robert back into the arms of John's husband, and Robert's ex, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
When Robert first pitched up back in Emmerdale on the day of Aaron and John's wedding, it was immediately apparent that the attraction between Aaron and his ex was still strong. They ended up kissing passionately, before Aaron ultimately chose to go back to the wedding and marry John.
Since then, John's level of loathing for Robert has been extremely high, which is a dangerous position to be in given that John has few qualms about dealing ruthlessly with people who are giving him problems.
In upcoming episodes John is furious to see Robert and Aaron chatting at the cafe, and he decides to use his nephew Harry as a way to get back at Aaron by manipulating the boy.
While Robert is looking after Harry, they boy's drumming causes an already stressed Robert to lose his temper – and John is on hand to walk in at that precise moment.
This is excellent ammunition for John to go back to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) with tales of Robert's nasty behaviour to her son Harry, and to reiterate to Aaron how bad a person Robert is.
Then John visits Robert to rub it in that he's probably lost both Victoria and Aaron.
Robert is in despair after this, and starts smashing up his room. Aaron hears this commotion and goes into the house, finding Robert apparently at the very end of his tether, a broken man.
Aaron comforts him and reassures him that the situation isn't as bad as he thinks and there's still hope.
Aaron admits that he has unresolved feelings for Robert, and that's why he's been pushing him away recently because he can't cope with how he feels. Overcome by emotion, the two men give in to their mutual feelings for each other and end up in bed together.
Discussing these scenes, star Ryan Hawley said: 'Robert just kind of breaks down in Aaron's arms. And then we cut to the scene downstairs, when they're kind of talking amongst each other. And Robert says, you know, it's time for him to go. He needs to move on.
'He shouldn't have come back, but then Aaron convinces him not to and to stay, and he's been fighting feelings the whole time as well. And that's when we get our first Aaron and Robert love scene.'
Afterwards, Aaron and Robert hear John and Victoria outside, discussing how they need to check that Robert's OK.
Will they walk in on the pair and make a shock discovery?
And does this mean that Aaron has now chosen Robert over John?

With John about to hear some unsettling news about the man he framed for Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter)'s murder (and left to die), his stress levels are at an all-time high. Finding out about Aaron and Robert could tip him over the edge – leading to deadly danger for both. More Trending
'It's kind of a take it as it is, just this moment kind of thing', Ryan added, discussing what Robert thinks of his moment with Aaron.
'And you know, they even say to each other, we don't want to think about any of that now, the circumstances that we've got is complicated. It is what it is right now, and then we'll see from there. It kind of leads into the next phase of the story.

Love is Blind tackled a dating taboo - and I was thrilled

As a Pakistani Muslim, distrust between Indian and Pakistani communities has been drilled into me from a young age. My childhood best friend, who is Indian, once told me in those very early days her dad took time coming round to the idea of his kid befriending me. From my own parents, I had heard stories of family friends whose children's relationships had been torn apart because one or both of the parents simply refused to accept their Indian partner. Or, in the rarer-than-rare case where they stayed together anyway, they were quickly ostracised from the community. I can't pinpoint the exact moment it clicked, but at some point in my youth, I sadly accepted that Indians and Pakistanis weren't meant to mix. Outside of these circles, very few understand how wide this yawning chasm remains among second and third-generation immigrants to this day, even as we mark 78 years of partition this week. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. But aside from some fleeting discourse on the BBC's A Suitable Boy adaptation, which tackles this topic from a historical lens, I have never seen it discussed or represented in mainstream media – until now. In the most surprising turn of events, it was Love is Blind UK season two, of all places, which has brought it to the fore. Spoilers ahead for season 2 of Love is Blind UK. During their time in the pods (where participants must date without seeing one another), 32-year-old contestant Kal, who is half-Pakistani, and 29-year-old Sarover, who is Indian, make an instant connection. A few dates in, they broach the topic of their heritage and quickly acknowledge 'there could be conflict' with Kal asking Sarover if her family would ever accept him. I thought that might be the end of it, but the show shocked me by really giving this tension the time and space it deserved to explain and work through. As Kal tells the audience in a voiceover: 'I've come here to find love, definitely, and I wouldn't have expected to find it in Sarover. She's got Indian heritage. I've got Pakistani heritage. 'Historically, there's been conflict and a massive divide between India and Pakistan. Ten, 15 years ago, me and her probably wouldn't even be having a conversation. 'Especially for the older generation, I know from experience, a parent with an Indian daughter would not want them dating a half-Pakistani or Pakistani guy. They just did not get on.' It was heartening to see someone perfectly summarise the crisis that has been facing us for decades, and ruined people's lives. What is even more heartening is Sarover's response, as she opens up to Kal: 'Undoing so many years of upbringing, it took a long time. Over the years, even my grandparents are so open and we have so many mixed marriages in the family now.' The pair get engaged and, although we are yet to see if their relationship can survive the prejudices of the outside world, even just getting this far feels revolutionary. I couldn't believe my eyes. This kind of representation on one of the most popular dating shows around could genuinely change perceptions of Pakistani-Indian relationships. Of course, on a global scale, it's always been known that the two countries have bad blood that runs as deep as the gaping wounds left by centuries of British colonial rule and the partition of India in 1947. Just a few months ago, the neighbouring nations were on the brink of nuclear war due to the ongoing dispute over the territory of Kashmir. It was a repeat of a situation my family had been trapped in when they visited Pakistan in 2019, while I stayed home in London. I was sitting terrified on the other side of my phone as the airspaces overhead shut down while both nations prepared for nuclear war. Thankfully, it didn't come to that. But this volatile political divide has permeated into the personal, impacting millions of diaspora across the world, 78 years on from partition. One of my close friends is being forced to hide her relationship with a Muslim man from her parents out of fear of outright rejection, and vice versa. Meanwhile, any relationship of this nature is still the subject of scandal and gossip in my local community, although it has become easier over the years. This is far from a black and white issue. There's religious prejudice, misguided national pride, and the rejection of 'other' in whatever form, stemming from both communities, which makes this a minefield wherever you land. More Trending Online misinformation makes this a modern problem – not least as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to fuel Islamophobia and perpetuate the concept of love jihad – a false claim of Muslim men of converting Hindu women by marriage). Love is Blind proves that this is a problem my community cannot afford to ignore, and for those far removed from this experience, I hope it proves an education for just how big this struggle remains for people like Kal, Sarover, and me. At one point, Kal jokes to Sarover: 'Yeah, but listen, we can bridge the gap. We can mend the peace,' to which Sarover quips: 'Are we just gonna solve history?'. I laughed; it's the same jokey conversation my Indian friends and I have had time and time again. View More » I'm under no illusions that Love is Blind will heal decades of bitterness but it's a small salve that I hope one day grows into something bigger. James Bond ‘frontrunner' breaks silence on being linked with 007 role ahead of the release of history-making new series

BRITISH actor Mike Dickman has spoken about being linked with the vacant 007 role for the first time. The rising star, 40, is building an impressive portfolio after swapping a high-flying corporate career in the sports industry for his acting passion. 5 In just a few short years, he's had a cameo role in blockbuster Barbie, landed a supporting role in psychological thriller Secrets, which is released on Amazon on August 19, and will also feature prominently in upcoming series Gandhi - the first Indian series to premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival. Earlier this year, bookies even listed him as a surprise frontrunner to replace Daniel Craig as Bond, along with household names like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill. Speaking exclusively to The Sun, affable Mike says: "It's crazy flattering to be mentioned in a bracket with all of those tremendous actors who have got a lot more experience than I do. "I don't know what to say, Dan. I mean, for all I know, you could be working for Blofeld [laughs]. "No, it's been really interesting to see what they end up doing with the project. It's obviously a whole rebirth of an incredible franchise, isn't it?" While Amazon MGM Studios may end up looking elsewhere for the iconic suave spy, there's no doubting Mike's star is on the rise. But the humble actor is all too aware productions are a collaborative effort and is effusive in his praise of his fellow cast and crew, complimenting Charlotte Jackson Colman, the former Sky Sports presenter who plays the lead role of Sammy in Secrets, and Gandhi lead Pratik Gandhi, who he calls "absolutely fantastic". The latter project is a retelling of political and philanthropic powerhouse Mahatma Gandhi's incredible life story, which was famously brought to the big screen by Sir Ben Kingsley in the 1982 epic. In the new series, Mike plays racist Captain Harry Sparks who tried to put a stop to Gandhi's time in South Africa. Originally, producers had intended to cast an Akrikaans speaking actor, but were impressed by Mike's ability to capture the accent. It's role that could further elevate his growing status in the industry. He says: "You never know in this industry if you're ever going to break out. "I think it's really hard to predict what it's going to be as well. I'm lucky I haven't experienced this personally yet, but I know people that have a whole body of work on TV or film, and then you think your role is going to be something and then decisions are made in the edit. "The storyline changes or whatever and suddenly your role is not quite what you thought it was going to be." He continues: "I'm extremely humbled, I guess, by some of the feedback I've had from the production team on Gandhi. And I think from my conversations with Hansal [Mehta, director], I think he sees it as quite a key role in the telling of the story. "I'm sure that he's done a brilliant job with the series. I mean, Pratik Gandhi, who's playing Gandhi, was absolutely fantastic to act opposite, because it's such an iconic kind of character acting role. "I know people might roll their eyes when you say things like this, but it is so true, like those actors that can do so much without doing anything, he's one of those. You just sort of standing there opposite him in a scene and you're like, oh, he's got a real presence. So that was that was really cool to witness." Before then, viewers can watch Mike, who is in a relationship with Heather Mills, flex is acting chops in Secrets as Robert, the partner of bereaved daughter Sammy [Jackson Colman]. The film begins with a brutal murder and follows Sammy as she delve back into a dark past she'd left behind. He says: "She starts witnessing a chain of events that she can't quite understand. She's not quite sure what's going on or why it's happening. "She doesn't have much support around her. She's come home, back to her hometown after the passing of her mother. And I suppose I attempt to be a kind of a rock and a support for her in the situation and and try and help her work out what's going on, because neither of us are aware of what mysterious events may have occurred in the past or what may be happening now, and what might be happening after that." Director Chris Norton was a powerhouse on the set, infecting those around him with his enthusiasm and keeping morale up even when they were shooting in breath-stopping sub zero temperatures. Norton has a cult following in America thanks to his previous Amazon film My Month With Mrs. Potter. 5 "I think he's able to craft a really interesting nuanced story that people can immerse themselves in and get involved in that's not obvious," says Mike. "It has plenty of twists and turns, but you really end up empathising with the characters. Highlighting Chris's commitment, Mike says: "We had one night where we filmed towards the end of the movie, we filmed a scene that took place in the middle of a forest in Surrey. And it was minus four, it was like the coldest day in January last year. "And everybody else is a bit delirious. We've gone numb by this stage. And Chris is rolling around in flip flops and a T-shirt just going, 'right, what's next? What's next? OK, I need to get that shot again'." There's not much time to dwell on Secrets' release though, as Mike is already hard at work on an adaptation of William Corlett's novel, Now and Then by Matt Weston. The relationship-driven coming-of-age drama has got Mike excited and he believes it's a film that will stand the test of time. He says: "It's about a kid at school who goes through a particular experience and struggles to kind of reconcile it and adapt his relationships in later life as a result. "We're hoping that will end up being a sort of a quintessential kind of British drama and one that people can come back to as well." There's little doubt that Mike will be on screen for a long time to come.
