Arizona Cardinals preseason Week 1 offensive snap counts, observations vs. Chiefs
In the Arizona Cardinals' 20-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, 39 players participated in at least one of the 66 offensive snaps.
How was the playing time split up? Let's have a look at the snap counts for every player who got in the game on offense, separated by position.
The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.
Quarterbacks
Save for an interception in the red zone on an underthrown pass, Murray ran the offense efficiently and had completions of 21 yards to tight end Trey McBride and 15 to wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He also ran for nine yards on two carries. The interception was his only pass that wasn't completed.
Brissett had two touchdown passes, a short catch-and-run for 43 yards to running back Emari Demercado and a one-yard tight-window throw to wide receiver Xavier Weaver. Aside from the 43-yard play, his other four completions in seven attempts totaled 38 yards. He also had a 10-yard run.
Tune completed 5-of-9 passes for 47 yards and had an interception on an overthrown ball in the face of a middle rush.
Running backs
Benson had some moments, including a 20-yard gain on a pass completion. Knight was the leading rusher with 51 yards on six attempts, highlighted by a 27-yard run. He also had a 10-yard completion. In addition to his touchdown play, Demercado added a 13-yard reception. Five of the total 17 completions were to running backs for 87 of the 224 yards.
Wide receivers
Did not play: Simi Fehoko (injured)
Injured reserve: Quez Watkins
Dortch (21 yards) and Weaver (14) were the leading wide receivers with two catches each. Weaver was targeted a game-high four times.
Tight ends
Vokolek led the group with two receptions for 23 yards, while everyone else except Cardenas had one catch. The total was six receptions for 75 yards.
Offensive linemen
Did not play: T Kelvin Beachum, G/C Jon Gaines II (injured)
Active/PUP: G Will Hernandez
Injured reserve: Valentin Senn
After the starting line, the second group had Jones at left tackle, Leverett at left guard, Conner at center, Newman at right guard and Fryar at right tackle. Jones left with a knee injury and was replaced by Curhan, who stayed there with the third group. Others with him were Curtis at left guard, Haynesworth at center, Conner at right guard and Byers at right tackle.
The dual-position work for Conner resulted in his 48 snaps being the most of any offensive player.

Kansas City Chiefs OL coach Andy Heck recaps Josh Simmons' preseason debut
During Tuesday's training camp press conference, Kansas City Chiefs offensive line coach Andy Heck shared his thoughts on rookie left tackle Josh Simmons' preseason debut last Saturday. "It's a big job for anybody coming in to learn the details of the offense, assignments (and) techniques. Every play has a thousand little details and so picking those things up, that was job one in the spring where he (Josh Simmons) was doing less physical work with us." said Heck, "Since he has gotten to training camp, he's been able to every day add one or two of these details that are important to each play. So, I've seen him steadily improve, and his understanding - and we're able to have better conversations about what's going on and I think that'swhat we'll see his trajectory do is just go like this (points up)." Simmons played briefly in the starting lineup against the Arizona Cardinals but made a positive impression. Heck was happy with Simmons' performance, but refuses to compare him to anyone he's worked with through his coaching career. "I'd hesitate to compare guys; every guy is different. I'm still in a learning process myself, of what makes him (Josh Simmons) tick, how does he learn best (and) how can I help him get better? There's constant communication there," said Heck, "But I would say he's certainly as talented a player as I've ever been around. He loves the game. So, those are two good things: when you're talented and you love the game, and you want to be the best, you've got a great chance to be a good one." Simmons earned Third-Team All-Big Ten honors for the 2024 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Saturday's game was his first since suffering a patellar tendon injury, ending his college career.

WATCH: Taylor Swift pokes fun at 'male sports fans' on Kelce brothers New Heights podcast
The entertainment and sports worlds are set to collide tonight when Jason and Travis Kelce welcome Taylor Swift to their "New Heights" podcast for the first time. The highly anticipated show will feature Swift discussing her upcoming new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," in addition to other topics that have been teased in social media clips throughout the week. While the Kelce brothers generally stick to sports during their podcast, they occasionally have to deal with backlash in some circles when the subject turns to Travis' romance with the pop music icon. In a clip released this morning, Swift pokes a little fun at those haters. "I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me," she joked. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMINGTAYLOR SWIFT. TONIGHT. 7PM ET. FANTASY FOOTBALL: Taylor Swift-inspired team names for 2025 While the Kelce brothers are obviously big fans of Swift's music, she hasn't always been such a diehard football fan. Travis goes into some of the details of how she deepened her knowledge of the game since they started dating two years ago in a cover story for GQ magazine. But now that she's fully on board "as a fan of 'that guy on the Chiefs,'" as Jason said in introducing her, Swift can now add "19 wins, two AFC titles and a Super Bowl" to her list of career accolades.
