Coronation Street's Theo spirals as he lashes out in new video
Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) behaviour has become increasingly more alarming in the weeks and months since the revelation that he'd been the victim of sick conversion therapy in Coronation Street.
Coming into his relationship with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) with more baggage than Heathrow, the two have attempted to stand united as bomb after bomb dropped.
Todd learned Theo was married to a woman who had no idea that he was anything other than straight and was also the mother of his two children.
Then followed Theo's daughter, Millie and her fake pregnancy designed to bring her father home.
Though Theo knew that Millie had made up the entire thing, trying to frame Todd for forcing her into an unwanted abortion, he used the situation as means to manipulate Todd initially.
Todd later sought comfort with James Bailey (Jason Callender), who misread the sign, leaning in for a kiss just as Theo re-entered.
Theo again used the situation to exert power over Todd, darkly threatening James, too.
Speaking about Theo's outbursts, star Gareth Pierce told us previously: 'I think at this point, we're starting to spot some anger management issues on Theo's part, at the very least. There's some flashes of anger that have left Todd shocked but equally, because he's had that insight into the conversion therapy and where Theo is coming into this new life from, he's perhaps willing to guide him through it.
'He's trying to be understanding of Theo. He's been suppressing his sexuality for so long, Todd is trying to encourage him towards being someone that can be comfortable in their new gay identity.'
On whether Todd is fully aware of Theo's controlling behaviour, Gareth said: 'I think Todd has spotted many things from Theo, but he still has the mindset that he can fix this and because of the love that's there, he's thinking they will get through it.
'Our audience are probably also spotting some of those flashes of jealousy and perhaps a kind of need to control that maybe Todd is not currently spotting or doesn't want to spot.'
After a series of violent clashes with both twisted conversion therapy practitioner Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor) and even Theo's own family, fans concerns grew for Todd when Theo insisted he sleep on the couch while he took the bed, despite it being Todd's house.
Gareth further elaborated on just how much Todd was willing to take: 'He knows there are very valid reasons for Theo's confusion and probably some internalised homophobia, but that doesn't mean you can excuse all of the less healthy approaches to navigating the relationship. That will be, in many ways, Todd's biggest challenge, how to steer the relationship to somewhere healthy'
Things got increasingly strange for Todd when Theo was questioned regarding an incident in the precinct, with this coming with the revelation that Theo had a history of violence.
Upon his return to the Street, Theo is sickened to see that his family is pictured on promo materials for Noah's church and, cancelling a lunch date with Todd, he retreats to the builders yard. More Trending
We get a glimpse inside Theo's head in this new clip, as while he repeatedly flicks an elastic band against an already-injured wrist, he hears the voices, all hurling a sadistic volley of abuse toward him.
Looking into the mirror, Theo is finally completely broken as he catches his reflection. Disgusted by what he sees, he proceeds to trash the builder's yard in a fit of rage.

Hollyoaks confirms Sienna's fate as aftermath of Jez showdown is revealed
Hollyoaks has confirmed that Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) will live following her showdown with dastardly killer Jez (Jeremy Sheffield) – but an unexpected twist follows. The much-loved show favourite, as viewers know, uncovered the truth about evil dad Jez earlier this week after finding Robbie Roscoe's (Charlie Wernham) body at the allotment. Robbie was one of several characters killed by serial killer Jez, who has been claiming lives for much of his, documenting his kills in a disturbing journal which he keeps at the flat. Sienna had some knowledge of Jez's brutality when she discovered that he'd killed Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith) earlier this year and, in unsettling scenes, she assisted him in burying the body. Jez vowed that he had turned over a new leaf and Sienna hoped that he was telling the truth. However, things took quite a turn last week when she learned via Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) that Dilly's DNA had been found in connection with Dennis and Ian Stone the social worker. Given that Dilly died in January and Ian was killed just a matter of weeks ago, it didn't take long for Sienna to work out that something was awry. Desperate for answers, the former high school teacher made a beeline for the allotment, where she uncovered Jez's grisly crimes, unearthing the body of Robbie Roscoe, who had also been killed by the murderer. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Monday's (August 11) edition of the Channel 4 soap dealt with the aftermath of the discovery as Sienna demanded that Jez come clean over his actions. Jez wasted little time in showing just how twisted he truly is, basking in his killer nature as he told Sienna he was relieved that he no longer had to hide from her. Utterly appalled by the depths of his evilness, Sienna feared for the lives of her loved ones, reminding him that he's already killed family members in Dilly and Dennis. In tense scenes, Sienna raced across the city walls and made a phone call to Dodger – but Jez intervened. A dramatic face-off ensued, with Sienna pushing her villainous dad away. As he teetered on the edge of the faulty railing, he pulled Sienna with him as the two plummeted to the ground below. The immediate aftermath of the showdown will be revealed on-screen this week but new spoilers for next week confirm that both Sienna and Jez escape the situation with their lives intact. Their memories, however… well that's another story. In upcoming scenes set to air next week, Sienna tells Jez and Liberty Savage (Jeramy Stoddart) that it's looking unlikely that will ever regain the lost memories. Liberty worries that SIenna is keeping something from Jez. It seems there is more to this than meets the eye as, at one stage during the week, Sienna logs on to a chatroom, hoping for advice on having a serial killer as a father. Later, she frantically tries to sell the stall and stock, much to Lib's horror. More Trending Afterwards, Sienna pays a visit to see Dodger at the station but before she gets to speak to him, Jez arrives. The question is: is the truth coming back to Sienna? And either way, will Jez claim her life? Or is the clock finally ticking on the villainous gardener? Will Sienna prove instrumental in taking him down? Will Liberty finally see him for who he is? Hollyoaks confirms devastating funeral scenes as major character is laid to rest
Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) will lay son Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe) to rest in emotional Hollyoaks scenes next week but with tensions running high the funeral service proves eventful. Bobby, as viewers know, was serving time in prison after he killed Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) and Verity Hutchinson (Eva O'Hara) several years ago. He also attempted to murder Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) – who was seeing his mum at the time – as he set a fire in Price Slice, which led to DeMarcus' (Tomi Ade) life being put in danger. Bobby escaped captivity earlier this year and reunited with mum Mercedes, who urged him to turn himself in to the police and finish out this sentence so that he could come home to be with her and his sisters. The teen resolved to do just that but he was subsequently accused of the murder of his social worker Ian Stone, who was killed by Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield). Bobby later discovered that Jez was to blame after Martha (Sherrie Hewson) inadvertently spilled the beans about her murderous son, which prompted a showdown between Bobby and Jez. One thing led to another, with Bobby determined to hand himself in to the police but when Jez got wind of his plan, he tracked the teen down and killed him in horrifying scenes. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), however, believes that he was to blame for Bobby's death given that he was driving a car along the very road where the boy's body was found. Mercedes, meanwhile, was left devastated by her son's death, seeking comfort in Tony, who confided in Diane (Alex Fletcher) about what he thought he did to Bobby. Diane assisted him in covering up the crime, crashing the car he was driving and hiding it in the garage, which is currently vacant. With a few weeks having passed since the tragic event, next week sees Mercedes and the rest of the McQueens prepare for Bobby's funeral. In a bid to allow others who aren't able to attend view the service, the decision is made to livestream the funeral. John Paul (James Sutton), meanwhile, is still struggling with his alcohol addiction and tries to get served at The Dog. Tony and Diane refuse and Mercedes subsequently enters the pub, spooking Tone as she reveals that she knows who killed Bobby. Is Tony's secret set to out? Does Mercedes believe that he was to blame? It appears not as Mercedes instead asks Tony to attend the funeral with her for moral support. Conflicted, Tony agrees. John Paul, meanwhile, recalls a flashback. More Trending On the day of the funeral, Mercedes stands in front of a handful of friends and family and shares some heartfelt words on her beloved Bobby. A confrontation, however, soon ensues at the funeral, which is being live-streamed to the village, and it leaves one resident feeling very smug. The question is: just what has unfolded? And why exactly does it please this one mysterious resident? View More » Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4. Cate Blanchett reveals how Squid Game cameo was kept secret and teases spin-off
Cate Blanchett has addressed how her hugely-secretive Squid Game guest appearance in the show's final episode came about and where it could go next. The South Korean Netflix phenomenon bowed out this summer after becoming the biggest show ever to hit the platform, detailing a dystopian death match that's now entered the popular vernacular, with a pink and green wardrobe that's Halloween-ready. Among the many surprises during the final season, at the top of the list was Blanchett, 56, appearing in the final scene as a Squid Game recruiter based in Los Angeles. In the scene, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) is driving through the city when he looks down an alley and spots Blanchett's character, suited and booted, playing a game of ddakji with a homeless man. The set-up is identical to how Gong Yoo's salesman first recruited Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) on a subway platform at night, playing the same slap-centric version of the game. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Blanchett has now said the offer to appear on the show 'came out of the blue' before she agrred to film the top-secret final scene. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video She told Variety: 'Because it's such a cult series and they were shooting in LA of all places, everyone was on a need-to-know basis.' The 56-year-old told the publication that she didn't even do a wardrobe fitting for the unnamed role, instead bringing her own suit to filming and learning 'very quickly' to play ddakji. 'I had to practice and practice,' she said. 'I knew there were four or five setups that they were going to do, and I knew what they needed from every shot, and then I was given the [script pages]. But it was one of the more mysterious jobs.' TV Editor Sabrina Barr shares her take… The final season, which Metro was able to watch in its entirety before the release, is darn near-perfect. Almost. While creator Hwang Dong-hyuk didn't initially have the three seasons mapped out, he concludes the tale of Player 456, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) in a seamless way that feels as though it was always meant to be a three-part story. As for why season three isn't a clear 10/10, the main qualm I have pertains to a group of characters who are so distracting they bring me back to real life with a sharp jolt – the VIPs. Their presence is jarring and feels unnecessary, even if the intention is to demonstrate who the game is being held for. But, the final moments of season three genuinely made me jaw drop in the best way possible. The chief takeaway from Blanchett's cameo, as well as the scene's reveal that an international version of the Game exists, was that Netflix appeared to be setting up a show spin-off. It's not a suggestion Blanchett denied in the interview. More Trending So could she be the star of a new English-language version of the show? Blanchett says she is 'wildly open to anything'. 'In a world that is so beautifully, magically created like that, for sure,' she said. 'They're amazing world-builders, and that series has been eaten alive. I don't think there's a corner of the globe that it hasn't touched in some way.' View More » Squid Game is available to stream on Netflix. Got a story?
