Bruno Mars Beats His Own Record, With Some Help From A Famous Friend

Forbes28-03-2025

Bruno Mars has already established his position as one of pop music's greatest hitmakers – several times over, actually – but another smash never hurts. The chart-topper is back at No. 1 this week with Lady Gaga by his side, as their duet 'Die With a Smile' maintains its grip on the most important global ranking published by Billboard. The tune isn't just enjoying another frame at the top, it's helps Mars break a personal record.
This frame, 'Die With a Smile' holds firm at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, the chart that blends streaming and sales data to rank the most-consumed songs across the planet. Gaga and Mars are in a familiar space, as this marks the track's thirteenth nonconsecutive week in charge.
Last week, 'Die With a Smile' matched Mars's longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. That honor previously belonged to 'Apt.,' his collaboration with Blackpink singer Rosé, which managed 12 weeks at the summit between last year and earlier this one.
Now, Mars bests himself. 'Die With a Smile' becomes the singer's longest-leading global smash yet – and based on its current trajectory, it might not be done ruling just yet.
While Mars and Gaga are surging, there are still a couple of titles they have yet to beat. Mariah Carey's unstoppable holiday juggernaut 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' remains the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, with 19 total frames atop the list. Every December, it climbs to the top again, giving Carey another round of success and furthering her chart domination.
Right behind her is Harry Styles, whose pop-rock single 'As It Was' racked up 15 weeks in charge. The smash stands as the second-longest-ruling No. 1 in the ranking's history.
With 13 weeks in the lead, 'Die With a Smile' is now tied as the third-longest-running No. 1 hit in the Billboard Global 200's short history. It's matches with Miley Cyrus's 'Flowers,' which also spent 13 frames in first place back in 2023.
If 'Die With a Smile' continues to run the show, it will break out of its tie with 'Flowers' and stand alone as the third-longest ruler the Billboard Global 200 has ever seen. But there's a small twist — Mars could end up tied with himself once more.
'Apt.,' his duet with Rosé, is sitting pretty at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 this week. If it somehow surges again and returns to the top – which is far from an impossibility – it will once again match 'Die With a Smile' with 13 weeks in charge.

Will Smith Celebrates All the ‘Pretty Girls' With New Single and Music Video

Will Smith has returned with his new song 'Pretty Girls,' as well as an accompanying music video released on Friday (June 13). The video opens with Smith in the therapist's office, describing an ongoing issue he's having and how he feels like he's losing control. The problem then reveals itself to be enjoying beautiful women, as he raps celebratory bars about pretty girls and 'BBLs.' The new track comes after Smith returned with his new album Based on a True Story on March 28. He also dropped off a Lyrical Lemonade freestyle where he proclaimed himself the 'Lionel Messi' of hip-hop. While it's clear music is his main focus at the moment, the Oscar winner recently said on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast he might squeeze in another Men in Black soon. 'I told myself I was done with sequels. I was like, 'I've made enough sequels. I got some new things I want to make,'' he said. 'Literally this morning, an hour before I came down here, they just threw the bag for another Men in Black. I was like, 'Ah, I'm supposed to be going on tour this summer.'' Smith said he'd likely shoot the film once he's done with his European tour, which kicks off on June 25. Check out the new video for Will Smith's 'Pretty Girls' below. Donna Kelce, Monet X Change, Eric Nam & More Join ‘The Traitors' Season 4 Cast

Peacock revealed the cast for the fourth season of The Traitors on Friday (June 13), including Donna Kelce, Monet X Change, Eric Nam and more. In a video posted to social media, host Alan Cumming unveiled the cast by deliciously teasing, 'Ah, dear me … what treachery awaits us this season? The fates whisper of betrayal. Backstabbing. And the occasional dagger in the dark. Let us see whose murderous destinies are forever entwined in my castle walls: the cards never lie. People on the other hand? Constantly.' Meanwhile, Monet X Change will be following in the well-heeled footsteps of fellow RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, who also happens to be his co-host on their popular Sibling Rivalry podcast, and Nam becomes the first K-pop idol to compete on the series. After (spoiler alert!) being the very first contestant in the castle murdered by Bob and the rest of the Traitors last season, Dorinda Medley will also get a much-deserved second shot to play the game, joining fellow Bravolebrities Lisa Rinna, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Porsha Williams and Caroline Stanbury of the Real Housewives franchise and Top Chef winner-turned-host Kristen Kish. Of course, there are plenty of other competition show alumni as well, which is sure to set up the now-signature 'Gamers vs. Housewives' rivalry in the castle. Gamers to watch out for amid the lochs and highlands this season include Survivor stars Rob Cesternino, Yam Yam Arocho and Natalie Anderson, as well as Big Brother's Tiffany Mitchell and Ian Terry. Meanwhile, Bachelor Nation alum Colton Underwood and Stephen Colletti of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and One Tree Hill fame are both obvious contenders to fill the hunky role in the castle established by Peter Weber and Dylan Efron in past seasons. And Olympic figure skaters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir will add a dose of athleticism to the show's endurance-testing physical challenges along with Mark Ballas of Dancing With the Stars. Other famous faces rounding out the season 4 cast include actor Michael Rapaport, comedian Ron Funches and Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins of Love Island. While a release date for the upcoming season of The Traitors has yet to be announced, expect the murders, banishments and parade of tartan to begin imminently as the 23 contestants descend on Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
