OnePlus might have an iPad Mini killer on the way
With similar specs and form factor, OnePlus may be developing a single high-end compact tablet that can serve both gamers and productivity-focused users, depending on accessories, software features, and how it's marketed.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could crush the benchmarks. | Image credit — Qualcom The rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is shaping up to be a beast. Early Geekbench 6 scores tip it to hit over 4,000 in single-core and 11,000 in multi-core, marking a major leap over the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. The chip is expected to feature custom Oryon cores, a 4.6GHz clock speed, and an Adreno 840 GPU capable of topping 4 million in AnTuTu.That kind of performance would make this tablet more powerful than many current-gen Android flagships — and a serious threat to the iPad Mini with A17 Pro.OnePlus hasn't confirmed the device or named it yet. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to launch in late September, which means a debut for the device sometime in early 2026 feels likely.
Whether it ends up being called the OnePlus Pad Mini, the OnePlus Gaming Tablet, or something else entirely, one thing is clear: compact Android tablets are about to get a whole lot more interesting.

DCS: Dimensity 9500 will launch one day before Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite
Qualcomm already confirmed it plans to host the annual Snapdragon Summit from September 23 -25, where we'll see the announcement of its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. But arch-rival MediaTek may one-up Qualcomm by unveiling its Dimensity 9500 flagship chipset a day earlier on September 22. The latest information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who holds a solid track record. The vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro are expected to be the first devices armed with the Dimensity 9500 chip. MediaTek's upcoming flagship chip will be fabbed on TSMC's N3P node (3nm) and is expected to feature an eight-core CPU using ARM's latest Cortex-X9 design. A Geekbench listing from earlier this year revealed the CPU will feature a Travis X930 main core clocked @3.23 GHz, 3x Alto cores running @3.03 GHz and 4x Gelas cores ticking @2.23 GHz. The CPU will be joined by a more efficient Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU, which is reportedly clocked at 1GHz and able to run ray tracing games at over 100fps. The new chip will also feature a boosted NPU rated at 100 TOPS. Source (in Chinese)

iPhone 17 Air's chipset detailed
Vlad, 12 August 2025 The iPhone 17 family is rumored to be launching on September 9. Ahead of that, there have been countless rumors telling us that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the iPhone 16 Plus in Apple's roster, due to the latter's lackluster sales performance. But this leaves a mystery regarding which chipset the Air will go with. Will it be a Pro SoC or not? Apple's Pro iPhones obviously use the Pro chipset, but the Air is not a Pro, so will it have the same chip as the vanilla iPhone 17? A new rumor out of China says no to that, revealing that in fact the Air will use the A19 Pro SoC. But there's a small catch. It won't be exactly the same A19 Pro chip that will feature in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Instead, the Air's version will have a lesser GPU, with one less core. That's the only difference. So while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max's A19 Pro will come with six GPU cores, the iPhone 17 Air's will have just five. The iPhone 17 Air's screen will also reportedly not be quite at the level of the iPhone 17 Pro's, according to the same source. The Air is now rumored to be 5.65mm to 5.7mm thick. This rumor contradicts a previous one from July, which claimed the iPhone 17 Air would be equipped with the A19 chip just like the iPhone 17. Obviously, we can't be sure which one is accurate. The exceptionally well-equipped OnePlus Watch 3 is a brilliant bargain right now in both sizes
Deemed "the smartwatch you should get in 2025" at the very beginning of the year in our original review, the OnePlus Watch 3 is undeniably more versatile than ever before and arguably more appealing than ever at a rare $30 discount in two different versions. You've got the older model, available in a 46mm size in Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium colorways, and the recently released 43mm variant coated in Silver Steel and Black Steel, and unlike during other promotional periods on the official OnePlus US website, you don't need to trade anything in right now to save the aforementioned 30 bucks on the unit you prefer out of that roster. $30 off (10%) Wear OS Smartwatch, GPS, Bluetooth, 1.32-Inch AMOLED Display with 466 x 466 Pixel Resolution, Stainless Steel Case, Up to 60 Hours of Battery Life (Seven Days in Power Saver Mode), Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 Processor, 32GB Storage, 2GB RAM, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Sensor, Sleep Tracking, IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, Two Color Options Buy at OnePlus $30 off (9%) Wear OS Smartwatch, GPS, Bluetooth, 46mm Case, 1.5-Inch AMOLED Display with 466 x 466 Pixel Resolution, Sapphire Crystal, Stainless Steel Case, Titanium Alloy Bezel, Up to Five Days of Battery Life (16 Days in Power Saver Mode), Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 Processor, 32GB Storage, 2GB RAM, Heart Rate Monitor, Blood Oxygen Sensor, Sleep Tracking, Wrist Temperature Sensor, IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, Two Color Options Buy at OnePlus The smaller and younger edition, mind you, is also cheaper, normally costing $299.99, while the larger device is typically priced at $349.99. That means that you're looking at paying as little as $269.99 and no more than $319.99 if you hurry for an objectively handsome, powerful, and reliable Apple Watch Series 10 alternative compatible with Android smartphones and Android smartphones only. Because it doesn't work with iPhones, the OnePlus Watch 3 has the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra as its main rivals rather than the industry-leading Apple Watch portfolio, and compared to... pretty much all its "mainstream" alternatives, this bad boy holds a major advantage in the battery life department. The smaller OnePlus Watch 3 is a little humbler, cheaper, and for some buyers, more appealing than the large variant. | Image Credit -- OnePlus With "power saver" features enabled, you're looking at endurance scores between charges of up to seven days as far as the 43mm OnePlus Watch 3 is concerned and no less than 16 days (!!!) for the 46mm variant, which is essentially unheard of outside the rugged smartwatch category. The AMOLED touchscreen is remarkably sharp and bright on both OnePlus Watch 3 versions, the health monitoring arsenal virtually unrivaled for the sub-$350 and sub-$300 price brackets, and the rotating crown (although far from original) clearly enhances the user experience and convenience, making this Wear OS soldier hard to beat... at its latest and greatest discount. Just don't wait too long or the killer new deal may well go away.
