
Prince George fourplex ‘engulfed' by suspicious fire, RCMP say
The first fire was reported June 5 around 2 a.m. and the second on June 11 at 2:30 a.m., according to authorities. Only one unit was damaged by the first blaze, but the second one 'engulfed' all four units in the building on the 1200 block of Cuddie Crescent, Prince George RCMP aid in a news release.
'Thankfully, everyone was able to get out of the houses in time and no injuries have been reported,' said spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, in a statement.
'Investigators are now asking for anyone in that area to check their video surveillance or dash camera footage for anyone caught moving through that neighbourhood around the time of the two fires or for any footage relating to the fires that would assist these investigations.'

Woman seriously hurt in western P.E.I. car-shooting incident has died, RCMP say
An incident in western P.E.I. that left 35-year-old man dead has now claimed a second victim: the female passenger from Summerside who was injured when a Toyota Corolla was shot at, rolled over and hit a utility pole on Friday night. "This afternoon, P.E.I. RCMP were informed by the family of the 50-year-old woman involved in the shooting incident in Urbainville that she has passed," the force said in a news release Tuesday. "Our thoughts are with the families of both victims involved in this incident." The news release said RCMP had no further information to provide, adding: "The families of both victims asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time." During a news conference Monday, an RCMP spokesman said both people in the car had sustained injuries from the crash, with the driver also suffering gunshot wounds. The force had earlier described the woman's injuries as serious. Police asking public for tips plus any car video footage after targeted shooting in Western P.E.I. 21 hours ago Cpl. Gavin Moore said police believe there was another vehicle on the isolated dirt section of Hackmatack Road when the "targeted" shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. AT Friday. "Police are also investigating a report of a burned vehicle located in St. Lawrence, near Miminegash, reported at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, which may be linked to this case," he added. That location in western Prince County is about 60 kilometres from Urbainville, which is about 80 kilometres west of Charlottetown. Police have not named a suspect in the case.

Body recovered from Spanish River identified as missing Webbwood man
Gregory 'Greg' Grant was reported missing in June and first responders recovered his body from Spanish River on July 20, 2025. (File photo/Supplied/Ontario Provincial Police) Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that a body recovered from the Spanish River in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township is that of 50-year-old Gregory 'Greg' Grant, a Webbwood man reported missing in June. OPP's Manitoulin detachment launched a search for Grant on June 16, after he was reported missing in Webbwood. The search involved the OPP's emergency response team, canine unit and aviation support. Body discovered in July On July 20 at about 1 p.m., OPP including its underwater search and recovery unit responded to reports of a deceased person found in the Spanish River. A joint investigation by the OPP and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service confirmed the identity of the deceased as Grant. Not suspicious 'The death has been determined to be non-suspicious and the investigation is complete,' OPP said in a news release Tuesday. No further details were released.

Man charged in crash with Ontario Premier Doug Ford's vehicle now accused in fatal collision
