Man charged in crash with Ontario Premier Doug Ford's vehicle now accused in fatal collision
Ontario Provincial Police say an 18-year-old man from Oshawa, Ont., who was recently charged in a collision that killed a father of three is the same person facing a dangerous driving charge in a crash involving Premier Doug Ford.

A GoFundMe page by Christina Cristillo identifies her husband Andrew Cristillo as the victim of the fatal crash on Aug. 3 in Whitchurch-Stouffville, which also left her and their three daughters injured.

She writes that Cristillo was a supportive partner and hands-on father whose greatest wish was for his family to be safe, happy and looked after.
OPP say the driver of the other vehicle in the head-on collision fled the scene but was found and arrested a short time later.

Jaiwin Kirubananthan was charged with dangerous driving causing death, three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to remain at an accident resulting in death and public mischief.

Police say Kirubananthan is the same person charged after a car hit an OPP vehicle Ford was travelling in on Highway 401 in January.

RCMP seek to identify man suspected of setting fire at Nova Scotia Power station
RCMP are asking for the public's help to identify a man they believe deliberately set a fire at a Nova Scotia Power station in Fall River, N.S., on Wednesday. RCMP say first responders were called to a fire at the Nova Scotia Power station on Highway 2 at 3:48 p.m. AT. Their investigation found that a man used a torch to set ablaze several spools of wire, RCMP say, and a similar incident was also reported nearby shortly before. "The prospect of having a fire in the heavy populated area of Fall River would be devastating to our community, so please help police solve this crime," says a news release from Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers. The fire was quickly extinguished. The incident occurs as the province grapples with dry conditions and ongoing wildfires. A provincewide ban on setting fires is currently in place, as well as a ban prohibiting people from entering wooded areas. Fire crews have already been busy battling fires in various parts of the province. Firefighters are on the scene of active wildfires in Annapolis County, where evacuations are taking place. Another wildfire in the woods near the Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax prompted evacuations, but is now being held, meaning it is unlikely to spread.

Two men arrested after police seize drugs during traffic stop in Lower Sackville, N.S.
RCMP says the driver, a 41-year-old man from Middle Sackville, and the passenger, a 49-year-old man from Sipekne'katik, were released on conditions pending their upcoming court appearances. Two men were arrested for drug-related offences following a traffic stop in Lower Sackville, N.S. Halifax Regional RCMP says an officer was conducting proactive patrols around Sackville Drive and Sackville Crossroads just before noon on Tuesday when they noticed a Ford Explorer with two men inside travelling with a licence plate registered to a different vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned the passenger had an outstanding warrant. Police say the passenger was arrested and the vehicle was searched. Officers arrested the driver after finding cocaine in the vehicle. Police allegedly found additional forms of cocaine, cash and other drug evidence as they continued to search the driver and the vehicle. RCMP says the driver, a 41-year-old man from Middle Sackville, and the passenger, a 49-year-old man from Sipekne'katik, were released on conditions pending their upcoming court appearances.
