Robert Downey Jr assembles eye-watering fortune from new Marvel deal
RDJ kicked off the global phenomenon back in 2008 when he first appeared on the big screen as the fan-favourite Iron Man.

Although, his Marvel retirement did not last long, as last year it was announced that RDJ will return to the franchise in next year's 'Avengers: Doomsday' and the following year's 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.
This time, however, the 60-year-old is not returning as the beloved Iron Man and is instead taking up the villainous role of Doctor Doom.
The announcement brought about confusion, excitement and overall mixed reactions from Marvel fans.

Variety originally reported that RDJ will be making over $80million on the films but according to 'people familiar with the deal', that figure could be closer to $95million.
This will be the most RDJ has ever earned over a two-film spell with Marvel but it only adds to a gargantuan sum that he has already accumulated.
Variety sources say that the actor has earned between $500million and $600million over the course of seven Marvel movies and three cameos.
With a paycheck like this it seems certain that RDJ will be getting the most screen-time in Doomsday, which is set to release on December 18, 2026. Pic:To put these earnings into perspective, the star's Doom payday is almost half of the entire budget for Marvel's recently released 'Fantastic Four: First Steps', which Disney pegged at somewhere north of $200million.
It's no secret that Disney and Marvel can afford these big budgets with their blockbuster movies usually turning a mega-profit.
Last year, their film 'Deadpool & Wolverine', starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, made $1.34billion worldwide. It had a rough budget of $200million.
However, 'Avengers: Doomsday' looks set to be Marvel's most expensive movie to date with massive production costs and a seemingly never-ending cast list, including RDJ's massive deal.
It has been speculated that Doomsday could cost upwards of $1billion to make.
While that may sound like far too much to gamble on a movie, Marvel probably won't be sweating too much after their last two Avengers films – Infinity War and Endgame – grossed $2.048billion and $2.799billion respectively.
No matter how they turn out in the end, one thing is for sure – Robert Downey Jr's bank account looks more and more like Iron Man's with every movie.

Lamine Yamal mural in Barcelona vandalised with Seven Dwarfs after controversial 18th birthday party
The original public street art was unveiled last month to celebrate the Barcelona and Spain forward as he turned 18. Yamal, however, received criticism over his private party arrangements after images emerged of dwarves and scantily clad women reportedly paid to attend the event. Yamal faced accusations of exploitation, which he has not publicly responded to, and over the weekend vandals stencilled images of the Disney film version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on a wall in Barcelona's Plaza Joanic. The dwarfs had been painted around an image of Yamal in his superman outfit. Shortly after the stunt came to light on Monday, footage showed an artist taking immediate action to restore the painting to its original state. Yamal had reportedly hired dwarfs as part of the entertainment in his private birthday party outside of the city, according to Spanish reports. The Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias (ADEE) claimed those reportedly hired to attend the party were there 'solely for entertainment and promotional activities'. ADEE said it would take legal action against Yamal, arguing it could violate Spanish law intended to protect the dignity of disabled people. It claimed that his alleged actions violated the 'fundamental ethical values of a society that seeks to be egalitarian and respectful'. The original artwork was created by urban artist TV Boy and was unveiled ahead of the Spain international's 18th birthday on July 13. On the field, Yamal, on tour with Barca in South Korea, has continued to dazzle in pre-season after emerging as world football's hottest teenage property. Barcelona president Joan Laporta talked up Yamal's 'genius' talents in a wide-ranging interview this week, but warned against comparing the teenager to eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi. 'Lamine Yamal is Lamine Yamal, Leo Messi was Leo Messi,' Laporta told CNN. 'Leo Messi has been the best player in the world, and Lamine, I think that in his position nowadays, is the best player in the world.' Laporta added that he was working with Yamal's family and agent to ensure the youngster enjoys the best career possible. The young Addams is changing school and will be attending Nevermore Academy for the semester. While she tries to not live in her parents' acedemic shadows, she uncovers a murder mystery that only she can solve. Based on the film of the same name, this Tina Fey-co-created series has eight 30-minute episodes, meaning you can knock out the first season in on night. The series follows six friends who meet up every season and how their lives change over the course of a year. The show has already been renewed for a second season and we couldn't recommend it more. A series that had viewers gripped from the first episode was the Disney+ series Paradise starring Sterling K Brown and James Marsden. It's a show that is hard to describe without spoiling the mega plot-twist in the conclusion of the first episode, but we'll just say it stars a Secret Service agent who is in charge of protecting the President of the United States and… well… things go wrong. Another show that has a new season incoming is the massively popular Only Murders in the Building which has taken the true crime podcast trope and made a fictional series out of it. Starring Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez, with some megastar cameos and supporting cast each season, there are four seasons for fans to feed their murder mystery appetites now streaming, and season five lands September 9. While it's been 15 years since the show ended, Scrubs is still a popular series for a rewatch. And, considering it's getting a reboot with many of the main cast returning, what better time to pop it back on the telly? Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag was the show everyone was going crazy for when it was airing, and even though it's only two seasons with a total of 12 episodes, it's a must-see show. The show is adapted from Waller-Bridge's 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe one-woman play of the same name (which won a Fringe First Award) and introduced the world to Andrew Scott's Hot Priest. Based on the book series by Lee Childs, Reacher stars Alan Ritchson as the titular character who always seems to find himself getting into trouble and needing to help solve a mystery or two. The series has three seasons now streaming, and the fourth is currently in production. A show that might have gone under the radar is The Big Door Prize which stars our very own Chris O'Dowd and follows the residents of a small town which is changed when a mysterious machine appears that promises to reveal everyone's true potential. Similar to many of the shows on this list, it's only 30-minutes an episode and has two seasons now streaming, but alas, that's your lot. This entry might be the most difficult to get a hold of in the Rep of Ireland without a VPN, but the UK version of Ghosts is definitely worth the effort and has five seasons to watch. The show follows a group of ghosts from different historical periods haunting a country house while sharing it with its new living occupants, and stars a slew of familiar faces from the British comedy scene such as Taskmaster alumni Charlotte Ritchie, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Mathew Baynton, and Lolly Adefope.
