Ross tells a huge lie in Emmerdale that could destroy everything

Ross tells a huge lie in Emmerdale that could destroy everything

Metro2 days ago
Ross Barton (Michael Parr) has reunited with Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) in Emmerdale, but he's potentially made a massive mistake already.
And it's only been about five minutes!
Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) decided to work his magic and help get Ross and Steph back together. Steph ended her relationship with Ross shortly after she learnt about her connection with Anthony Fox.
Something like that can really put a dampener on a fledgling relationship, and for her and Ross it was too much.
Steph was distraught to learn of what happened to her mother and became fixated on her looks, claiming that every glance in a mirror she saw Anthony looking back at her.
After several failed attempts at plastic surgery, Steph finally broke down and despite all his support, dumped Ross to focus on herself. She told him she couldn't be the person he needed, and she was setting him free.
In tonight's episode, Steph and Ross were in The Hide enjoying breakfast after spending the evening together. As they chatted, Steph wondered if Ross had been with anyone during the period they weren't a couple.
In that moment, Ross lied to Steph and said he hadn't slept with anyone else. He claimed that he was a 'one woman man' but obviously it would've been far better to actually tell Steph the truth. More Trending
Shortly after Steph dumped Ross, he hung out with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).

They were both lonely and ended up having sex, but Ross made it clear to Manpreet afterwards that he had no intention of carrying on with their fling.
This week, Manpreet will be questioned by a curious Lewis and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) about her love life. If she tells them about Ross in that moment, Ruby certainly won't hesitate in telling Steph.

I quit watching EastEnders but Zoe Slater's return will bring me back

When I rage-quit watching EastEnders in 2017, I really couldn't imagine a world where I'd be lured back. And then came the news two months ago that Michelle Ryan is returning as Zoe Slater. Lo and behold, it has me ready to recommit to the legendary British soap. EastEnders always felt like the pedigree of soaps. At its best, the acting and writing were unrivalled, and it had the ability to capture the entire nation. I'll never forget the excitement around 'Who Shot Phil?' I was knee-deep in EastEnders by then, but even people who didn't watch the show remember the moment when almost 20 million viewers discovered the culprit was Lisa. The only other event that could unite the nation like that was a World Cup final and we hadn't seen one of those in more than 30 years. Natalie Cassidy, Steve McFadden, Pam St. Clement, Lucy Benjamin, and Barbara Windsor were just some of the top-tier actors around this time, and they truly were some of the best of British TV. And then came a new family: The Slaters. Right at the height of the demonisation of 'chavs' and the end of the Spice Girls era, a new clan arrived in Albert Square and redefined 'girl power'. Kat, Lynne, Little Mo, and — who we believed at the time was their youngest sister — Zoe, were a tour de force unlike anything seen on any soap before. Joined by Charlie and nan 'Big' Mo, they took absolutely no prisoners, instantly became central to all the drama, and I can't think of another family in any soap since that captivated audiences so immediately. I didn't just care about the Slaters from the get-go, I loved them. Especially Zoe and Kat. Almost a year after the Slater family's arrival, Kat and Zoe were at the centre of what was easily the biggest rug-pull I'd ever seen on EastEnders by that point – the moment Zoe screeched, 'You ain't my muvva!' only for Kat to howl back, 'Yes I am!' I can't think of a scene with such extraordinary levels of absolutely sensational high camp. They don't get the credit they deserve, but there are few performances as remarkable as Jessie Wallace and Michelle Ryan's as Kat and Zoe. Their chemistry was dynamite, their shared history was painful, and the betrayal of that shock felt so real and so rich. This is especially impressive considering that, relative to other characters on EastEnders, we'd only just really got to know them. They were all survivors in their own right, and as a young gay kid, nothing got me more excited than the power of a strong woman. Zoe, especially. She was young, fun, and making mistakes I couldn't wait to make myself, with my teenage years just around the corner. Ryan was also an incredible talent — which is why Hollywood soon beckoned and she was cast as the lead in a reboot of Bionic Woman, leaving the Square in 2005. I was devastated but still I persisted. Stacey Slater has recently arrived and like every Slater before her came into her own almost immediately. Lacey Turner, for me, is the greatest EastEnders actor there's ever been and has been tried, tested and pushed to her limit more than any other. From her affair with Max to watching Bradley fall from the Queen Vic and caring for her mum Jean who was defined by he bipolar diagnosis for years, Stacey was a true Walford heroine who filled the void. But my interest waned and one storyline, in particular, devastated me. The moment I knew I was done with the show came on New Year's Day 2017. It was the day Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell were killed off — mercilessly bumped off in the two most inexplicable deaths I'd ever seen on EastEnders. They died in a hotel swimming pool. Roxy was apparently so drunk she was incapable of swimming, and Ronnie's dress was seemingly the weight of a sinking ship, so she drowned with her. As I write this now, I'm still so unreasonably angry about it. That episode tipped me over the edge. In what felt like the blink of an eye, what was once my favourite 30 minutes of the day became something I began to dread. So I stopped watching. But then I got the news that Michelle Ryan would be coming back, and suddenly I felt able to forgive and forget – put the last eight years behind me. Everything about her return has been EastEnders gold. From Kat snapping at her son Tommy 'I'm your muvva' moments before the big reveal of Zoe, to the sheer shock of it. Zoe's gone off the rails, Stacey's kept her in hiding and dragged Alfie into another mess he can't afford. Zoe's talent is causing trouble; during her brief return earlier this summer she caused plenty of it. Lying, drinking and trying to fleece her own family, Ryan slipped back into Zoe's demons like she's barely been away. The second episode with Zoe hiding in the bedroom with her mum just feet away was agonising, perfectly setting up the incoming reunion and moment we've waited 20 years for. Zoe's got a secret, revealing she's done something 'so bad' her family will never forgive her. The possibilities are endless but it's going to be colossal. I can feel it. More Trending Just a few weeks ago, I couldn't have imagined watching EastEnders again. Now, I can't imagine missing a single second of Wallace and Ryan together on screen. This is the most exciting — and unlikely — reunion since Take That, and I am not going to miss a moment of it. It's been a long time since I truly invested in EastEnders. Thankfully, I still recognise most of the main cast, even if I have no idea what they've been up to for the best part of a decade. View More » Like Zoe, I've got a lot of catching up to do. But with the promise that Michelle Ryan is back for the foreseeable future, I'm ready to dive straight back in with full commitment. Do you have a story you'd like to share? Has Steph Miligan left Emmerdale for good as Georgia Jay departs?

This article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that has not aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) recently reconciled with Ross Barton (Mike Parr) in Emmerdale after a bit of timely intervention by Ross's brother Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). Ross and Steph had formed quite a bond after getting together initially through a combination of lust and Steph wanting to wind her parents up. The relationship evolved into one of genuine affection on both sides. But then Steph learned that her beloved grandfather Anthony (Nicholas Day) was actually her biological father after he abused her mum, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). And then she found that Ruby had killed Anthony and his body had been disposed of by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in an as yet to be disclosed location. In the aftermath of discovering Anthony's abuse, Steph became fixated on her resemblance to him and was so desperate she even tried to have surgery to alter her appearance. Ross wanted to support her through this hard time, but she pushed him away. She's since been going to therapy to try to help her move on. Lewis's recent match-making brought the two back together again, and this time Steph felt comfortable enough for them to sleep together. After this, Ross declared that there hadn't been anyone else in his life since he and Steph broke up, casually omitting to mention he'd had a fling with Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker). This was exposed by Manpreet while in the cafe with Lewis and Ruby, who were gossiping about her love life – or lack thereof. Manpreet casually confirmed she slept with Ross just as he walked into the cafe with Steph. Unaware that the couple were back together, Manpreet didn't realise she had unintentionally just exposed Ross as a liar. Steph, who had worked hard to tell herself that she could trust Ross again, was devastated and made it clear she didn't want to continue their relationship. And even Ross admitting that he was in love with Steph wasn't enough! In the episode of the ITV soap that airs this evening, Steph tells her parents that she's booked a yoga retreat in Rome. She wants to get away from the village for a while, and Ruby and Caleb (William Ash) are very understanding. Just as she gets into the taxi, Ross tries to get her to change her mind, but Steph doesn't want to be anywhere near him. Steph's departure ties in with Georgia Jay's maternity leave, following the announcement she is expecting her first baby. As ever with temporary departures, we will see Steph again soon, but just when that will be remains unknown at the moment. Announcing her pregnancy on Instagram, Georgia wrote back in June: 'As you've probably guessed, I've got some news to share! I know some of you have been wondering if you've been seeing a little bump on screen lately… well, it's not your imagination…I'm having a baby!'. She added: 'We've never been so excited and a little nervous all at once. Thank you for all the love and support.' In upcoming episodes Ruby decides to confront Manpreet at the surgery about her fling with Ross. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Manpreet's embarrassed and later on turns up at the Depot to retaliate. Ruby refuses to speak to her, so Manpreet hijacks a forklift and refuses to get off until Ruby talks to her. More Trending Goading Ruby, Manpreet brings up the subject of her ill-advised dalliance with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) on the day of Moira (Natalie J Robb)'s surgery. Ruby brushes this off as it's old news, but when Manpreet mentions Steph, Ruby flips and attacks her. The fight escalates and they're both eventually arrested and taken into custody – giving them ample opportunity to thrash out their differences. TikTok user Steph from Leeds, shared how she'd been saving up her Boots Advantage Card points for months in hopes of finally snapping up the buzzy Shark LED mask. And when it finally went on offer, she was just £5 away from having enough points to grab it. But instead of waiting around, she sprinted straight to her local Boots and used a clever trick that got her the last fiver she needed, without spending a penny more. It was all thanks to Boots' Recycle at Boots scheme, which is a little-known initiative that rewards you for bringing in your empty beauty and personal care products. We're talking toothpaste tubes, shampoo bottles, face cream pots, even things like contact lens cases and solution. Once you've collected five used-up products, you simply log them in the Recycle at Boots app, take them to a participating store, pop them in the green recycling box, and you get a £5 voucher when you spend £10. Steph said 'I was only £5 off buying the Shark LED mask with my points, so I ran to Boots, did the recycling scheme and bought it immediately," This time around, she used the £5 voucher to stock up on essentials and then cashed in her Advantage Card points to cover the rest of the cost of the Shark mask. 'I got this mask entirely for free,' she said. 'Definitely worth it.' She added that she often uses the recycling reward to try out new beauty products, but it's also perfect for picking up basics without dipping into your own cash. British skincare brand sold in Boots launches 50% off sale as it prepares to close down this month The best part is you're clearing out those dusty old bottles under the sink and getting rewarded for it. It's a win-win. So next time you're close to bagging something boujee with your Boots points, whether it's a viral skincare gadget, a designer perfume or just your favourite foundation, remember the recycle trick. Boot's loyalty scheme has been running since 1997, and there are now over 17 million Advantage card members. It works by rewarding shoppers with three points for every £1 they spend. Each point is worth 1p, so if you've saved 1234 points, you'll have £12.34 to spend. To pay for your shopping using your points balance, you'll need the full amount as you can't split payments between points and cash. Many shoppers build up their balance over the year to buy Christmas presents, or get bargains in the mega Boots sale at the end of the year. Shark CryGlow Review SOPHIA Bates put the mask up to test in her review. First impressions The face mask comes with a remote control, clip-on eye cooling patches, a charging cable and a satin drawstring pouch for storage. After charging the device for several hours as per the instructions, the mask was ready to go without needing to set anything up. When I first switched the device on, I was given a walk-through on the remote's screen that outlined the basic information, which is great for first-time LED mask users. The mask is bulky and it did take me a while to figure out how to adjust the straps so that it fit comfortably on my face, so it's not something I'll be travelling with. I found the LCD remote control to be slick and easy to use, and I love that it tracks progress by tracking how many times I've used each routine. The mask also shuts down automatically once the routine is complete, which is handy for power saving. Performance I've been using the Shark face mask for around two months, using primarily the Better-Ageing routine followed by the Under-Eye Revival mode. The Insta-Chill technology, which is unique to the CryoGlow, always makes me feel refreshed after removing the mask, and it's great for unwinding. There are three cold temperature settings which can be adjusted on the remote. The mask has an adjustable strap that tightens around the head for a secure fit, although I did find it to be quite heavy on the face. I know some people like to wear LED masks while running errands around the house, but I personally found the hard shell design to be too bulky for that (though it's perfectly comfortable to wear while sitting in front of the TV). The verdict Would I recommend the Shark CryoGlow Mask to a friend? Absolutely. It's the most user-friendly mask I've come across, and I love that the remote control walks users through every routine while tracking all progress. The four modes mean every skin type is likely to benefit from the mask, and I've seen results in my skin's brightness after the eight-week period that I've been testing the device. While the mask is quite bulky, the secure strap makes it comfortable enough to relax with, and the cooling technology leaves my skin feeling so awake after every use. Read the full review here. Double your points If you need that extra boost to your points then we have you covered. Experts have exclusively revealed the tricks to supersizing your points balance. The Boots Advantage Card app is a "game changer", according to Holly Smith, aka the UK's Coupon Queen. These are where your Advantage points, and tailored offers, will be listed. Sometimes, you can earn double, triple, or even QUADRUPLE your points by using these offers. Tap 'View Offers' under your points balance in the app to see your personalised deals. "Right now, my offers are 500 Advantage Card points if I spend £35 or more in-store, 100 points if I buy any Boots own brand products, and 10% off if I spend £15 or more on children's products – plus loads more," said Holly. The extra points will usually come with stipulations such as when you spend a certain amount, buy selected products or could simply offered as a one or two-time offer. To get the boosted points, you will need to 'load to your card', which means adding the offers onto your card before making a purchase, to get the boost. The offers typically change every four weeks, though there are also one day events that crop up so it's worth checking in regularly to see what's available in store or on your app. And if it's your birthday month you could push your points balance even further. When you treat yourself on your birthday, you get free bonus points in the process. During your birthday month, you can double your points, which is six points for every £1 spent. Make sure you put in your date of birth when signing up so you can access the offer. Remember to add the offer to your card before spending. There's plenty of other tricks you could also use to stack up your point balance.
