‘Paresh Rawal said sorry for leaving Hera Pheri 3': Priyadarshan said Akshay Kumar, Paresh called him together, said issue is ‘sorted'
'Both Akshay and Paresh called to say that everything is sorted,' he said, adding, 'I was in shock when Paresh said, 'Sir, I'm doing the movie. I have never had anything except a lot of respect for you. I've done 26 movies with you, and I'm sorry to have left the film. There were some personal issues.''
In the interview with Mid-Day, the filmmaker also said that Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel Shetty met with each other to resolve the issues. 'Hera Pheri cannot happen without any of the three lead characters. Recently, on a flight, a diamond merchant and his family came to me and requested me to bring Paresh back. They said they won't watch the film otherwise,' said Priyadarshan.
The director will now start writing the script of Hera Pheri 3, and the production is supposed to start by the end of this year, with a release planned for next year. However, Neeraj Vora who served as a screenwriter on the first part, and also as a director on the 2006 sequel Phir Hera Pheri, won't be there to collaborate this time around. He died of a stroke in 2017.
'Whatever I do, I cannot surpass Hera Pheri. The second part was bad; it was a copy of a Hollywood movie,' said Priyadarshan. Phir Hera Pheri was allegedly a rip-off of Guy Ritchie's 1998 neo-noir black comedy crime drama Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Priyadarshan also denied any rumoured involvement of producer Sajid Nadiadwala and filmmaker Ahmed Khan in the patching up of Akshay and Paresh.
Before Hera Pheri 3, Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel will also share screen space in Ahmed's adventure comedy Welcome to the Jungle, which is the threequel of Anees Bazmee's 2007 cult comedy Welcome. While Paresh was a part of Welcome and its 2015 sequel Welcome Back, Akshay was only in the first film. Suniel is a new entrant in the franchise.

Hera Pheri 3 has been in the making for 10 years. While Akshay had initially walked out of the film, he rejoined it after buying the franchise's rights from Firoz Nadiadwala. Once Priyadarshan also came onboard to direct, Paresh walked out of the film without citing any particular reasons officially. Akshay even sued Paresh for violating his contract. Akshay and Paresh will also be seen sharing screen space in Priyadarshan's horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, which is slated to release in cinemas on April 2, 2026.

Aneet Padda Once Shared A Bizarre School Incident: 'Shaved My Eyebrows, Plucked My Eyelashes'
Saiyaara's Aneet Padda once revealed a funny school memory where she shaved her eyebrows and plucked her eyelashes for no reason. Saiyaara's Vaani, aka Aneet Padda, gained fame overnight following the film's success. The actor, previously seen in Prime Video's Big Girls Don't Cry, is tasting newfound success. Just eight days into its theatrical run, Mohit Suri's Saiyaara has turned out to be a box office sensation. Amid the film's soaring popularity, an old interview of Aneet has resurfaced, in which she spoke about how she once shaved both her eyebrows during her school days. Recorded during the promotions of Big Girls Don't Cry in 2024, Aneet Padda candidly recounted a bizarre and hilarious school experience – one that caught her mother off guard and now has the internet in splits. In the viral snippet from her chat with Mid-Day, Aneet shared, 'I don't know if it's a school memory exactly, but I remember this one time we had our annual theatre going on. And for some weird reason, when I came back home and had to remove all of my makeup, I decided to also shave both of my eyebrows and pluck like eight of my eyelashes. Then my mother comes home and she's like, 'Beta, what am I going to do with you? You have to go to school tomorrow.' And I'm like, 'I don't know, maybe it's trendy.' And ten years later, people are actually shaving their eyebrows now, so maybe I was onto something back then." Meanwhile, Saiyaara broke records by earning Rs 21.25 crore on Day 1. The film has outperformed the first day collections of Murder 2 (Rs 6.95 crore), Aashiqui 2 (Rs 6.10 crore), and Half Girlfriend (Rs 10.30 crore). The film has also surpassed the the collections of Ek Villain (2014), which collected Rs 16 crore on its opening day, by becoming Mohit Suri's biggest opener ever. From 2225 screens in week one, Saiyaara is now running in packed 3650 screens and is set to have another record-breaking second week. The film earned Rs 190 crore at the box office in eight days, surpassing the records set by Bollywood A-listers' releases this year. While Saiyaara marks Ahaan Panday's first-ever tryst with acting, Aneet Padda already had a foot in the door with ad films and projects like Big Girls Don't Cry and Revathy's Salaam Venky, where she acted alongside Kajol and Aamir Khan. Huma Qureshi's Debut Novel Zeba Heads To Bhutan's Drukyul Literature And Arts Festival
Last Updated: Huma Qureshi will debut her novel "Zeba: An Accidental Superhero" at the Drukyul Literature and Arts Festival in Bhutan, starting August 2. Actor, producer and now published author, Huma Qureshi is set to represent her debut novel Zeba: An Accidental Superhero on an international stage. The book, which first released in December 2023, has been invited to the prestigious Drukyul Literature and Arts Festival in Bhutan, beginning August 2, 2025. Set against the backdrop of mysticism and personal discovery, Zeba tells the story of a seemingly ordinary woman who uncovers her supernatural abilities. It was Qureshi's first published work as an author and opened to positive response for its empowering female lead and accessible narrative. Now, the story is set to resonate beyond Indian shores as Qureshi embarks on a seven-day cultural and literary visit to Bhutan. 'Huma will attend the Inaugural Dinner at the India House in Thimphu on August 1, followed by her appearance at the literature festival on August 2. At the fest, she will do a reading before the floor is thrown open for questions from attendees. She will also be part of a moderated panel discussion," revealed a source close to the actor, according to Mid-Day. The itinerary doesn't end there. On August 3, Qureshi is expected to attend a formal dinner hosted by Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. The literary celebration will culminate with a special closing dinner hosted by Bhutan's Queen Mother, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, on August 4. Meanwhile, Huma Qureshi's upcoming film Bayaan has earned a prestigious spot at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. It will be showcased in the Discovery Section and notably, it's the only Indian film to be selected in that category this year. Directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, Bayaan is a gripping police thriller that follows a woman entangled in a system steeped in power dynamics, religious overtones, and institutional silence. Huma takes on a challenging lead role that reflects her continued shift toward intense, socially rooted narratives. The film also features seasoned actors Chandrachur Singh and Sachin Khedekar in pivotal roles. Huma called Bayaan a powerful, timely story. 'Bayaan gave me the opportunity to play the kind of character I've long been drawn to—someone within the justice system, yet up against forces much larger than herself. It was an absolute joy to work with a team so passionate and fearless in telling a story that feels both vital and universal," the Bollywood actress said in a statement.
