IANS Jenna Ortega will return as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's Wednesday Season 2 next week
With just days to go before the long-awaited return of Netflix's hit supernatural series, Wednesday , the streaming platform has officially released the titles of the first four episodes of Wednesday Season 2 . As fans eagerly await the gothic drama's August 6, 2025, premiere, the episode names, each steeped in clever wordplay, are already fueling predictions about what may unfold at Nevermore Academy, as per a report by Collider.Announced via Netflix's official fan site Tudum, the first half of Season 2 will comprise:
Episode 1: Here We Woe Again
Episode 2: The Devil You Woe
Episode 3: Call of the Woe
Episode 4: If These Woes Could Talk
While titles for the second half remain under wraps, the ominous tone of the initial batch promises a continuation of the shadowy misadventures, quirky family dynamics, and supernatural puzzles that defined the breakout success of the show's debut season. Wednesday Season 2 will see the return of Jenna Ortega in the titular role of Wednesday Addams, as she embarks on her second academic year at Nevermore Academy. This time, she's not the only Addams child wandering the eerie corridors, her younger brother Pugsley, portrayed by Isaac Ordonez, is now enrolled as well, as per the Collider's report. However, the upcoming term is anything but routine. The central mystery appears to revolve around Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), Wednesday's vibrant werewolf roommate. Visions of Enid's possible death have surfaced, suggesting a season fraught with psychic warnings, covert threats, and unsettling choices. With Enid's life in potential danger, Wednesday is once again called to rely on her morbid curiosity and sharp intuition.
Adding more intrigue to the new season are high-profile cast additions. British acting legend Joanna Lumley has been cast as Hester Frump, also known as 'Grandmama', a welcome nod to Addams Family lore. Meanwhile, Doctor Who alum Billie Piper joins the fold as Isadora Capri, the new head of music at Nevermore.Perhaps the most sensational casting news is the reported involvement of global pop icon Lady Gaga, who will take on the role of Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious teacher whose loyalties and origins are already stirring fan theories. Her addition adds both star power and unpredictability to the dark ensemble drama. Wednesday debuted on Netflix in November 2022 and quickly rose to prominence as one of the platform's most-watched English-language series. The first season followed Wednesday Addams as she transitioned to life at Nevermore Academy, a school catering to society's outcasts and gifted students. Haunted by visions and entangled in a murder investigation, she uncovers secrets tied to her family's past while battling her own emerging abilities.
Season 1 received widespread acclaim, remaining in Netflix's Global Top 10 for 20 weeks. It joined the ranks of other Netflix juggernauts like Stranger Things and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story . Awards recognition followed: the show earned nominations for 'Best Show' at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, 'Outstanding Comedy Series' at the Emmys, and clinched the 'Best Fantasy Television Series' at the 2024 Saturn Awards. While full plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, creators have hinted that Season 2 will delve deeper into themes of loyalty, identity, and the hidden costs of knowledge. With Wednesday navigating the blurry lines between fate and free will, and with her brother now in tow, viewers can expect a dynamic evolution in both her personal relationships and investigative pursuits.Season 2 will also reportedly expand the show's universe, revealing more about the supernatural undercurrents of Nevermore and the surrounding town of Jericho. As per early production notes, viewers should prepare for darker twists, bolder set pieces, and an even more psychologically complex Wednesday.Netflix's decision to release Season 2 in two parts reflects a growing trend among major streamers to sustain viewer engagement across multiple weeks. While Part One, featuring the newly revealed episode titles, premieres on August 6, the release date for Part Two remains undisclosed.
According to insiders familiar with the production, this structure allows the series to escalate its suspense across a longer arc while affording fans time to dissect and debate each development—especially crucial given the heavy symbolism and foreshadowing that define the Wednesday storytelling approach. With its trademark blend of dark humor, emotional depth, and gothic stylings, Wednesday Season 2 looks poised to surpass the high expectations set by its predecessor. The unveiled episode titles, filled with cleverly punning woes, signal more of what fans have come to cherish, clever writing, high stakes, and a heroine who continues to defy convention. As viewers prepare to return to Nevermore Academy, one thing is clear: Wednesday Addams isn't just surviving in her spooky world, she's thriving in it. And with new threats, new allies, and new mysteries on the horizon, this semester may be her most perilous, and most transformative, yet.
Streaming begins August 6, with Part One of Wednesday Season 2 available exclusively on Netflix. Season 1 remains accessible for those seeking a rewatch or a catch-up ahead of the big premiere.
Wednesday Season 2 is set to premiere on August 6, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. Only the first half of the season will be available on that date.Netflix has announced the first four episodes will be released as Part One of Season 2.

OAFF And Savera Drop Feel-Good Monsoon Track ‘Matcha', Inspired By A Rainy Day Jam Session

Last Updated: Composer-producer duo OAFF & Savera return with 'Matcha', a breezy pop single born from a rainy day jam session in Goa. Fresh off the success of their previous hits, dynamic musical duo OAFF and Savera are back with a lighthearted new pop single titled 'Matcha'. Released on August 7, 2025, the track is a breezy, romantic ode to spontaneous creativity, brewed—quite literally—during a rainy day in Goa. Known for their genre-defying sound and intuitive collaborations, OAFF and Savera composed, produced, and penned 'Matcha' together. The track blends chill electronic pop with a summery vibe, evoking the fluttery thrill of early love—the kind that makes you want to linger just a little longer. With its mellow groove and infectious charm, 'Matcha' is the perfect soundtrack for monsoon days and lazy afternoons. Born From Craving, Crafted With Joy In a candid revelation, OAFF recalled the track's unusual origin: 'About 2 years ago, Savera and I were in a secluded spot in Goa for a songwriting camp. I was really craving a cup of matcha, but it was raining so we couldn't step out or order in. Out of that moment of frustration, we ended up creating this track just as a playful distraction—it wasn't meant to be released. But over time, it stuck with us, and our friends loved it too." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kabeer Kathpalia (@oaffmusic) Savera echoed the sentiment, highlighting the track's effortless charm: 'There was no overthinking in writing Matcha. And that's what the song represents. It's a feel-good, easy-going song—lighthearted, groovy, and perfect for days when you just want to slow down." A Fan-Fueled Celebration To mark the release of 'Matcha', the duo hosted an intimate teaser launch party in Mumbai. More than 50 lucky fans got a first listen to the track, participated in a matcha-blending workshop, and took home custom matcha kits. The evening also featured an impromptu live performance by OAFF and Savera—an experience that perfectly mirrored the casual joy that birthed the song. The official music video, composed of moments from this launch event, is now live on their YouTube channel, further strengthening the artists' connection with their growing community of listeners. A Track Record of Innovation 'Matcha' follows a string of acclaimed releases by the duo, including 'Ittefaq' with Siddhant Chaturvedi, and 'Jaadu' from Netflix's Jewel Thief. Their joint discography is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically diverse, from 'Gehraiyaan' and 'Doobey' to 'Udja' from Coke Studio Bharat. With credits across web series, films, and non-film projects, OAFF & Savera continue to blur boundaries between mainstream and independent music. They have also earned critical acclaim with multiple award nominations, including IIFA, Filmfare, and Mirchi Music Awards, solidifying their status as two of India's most forward-thinking music creators. Whether you're a fan of the drink or just in need of a feel-good tune for a grey-skied day, 'Matcha' is now streaming on all major platforms. Mandala Murders Actor Piloo Vidyarthi Reveals Whether She Believes In Black Magic: 'Won't Say…'

Last Updated: Piloo Vidyarthi discussed her role in Netflix's Mandala Murders, emphasising its scientific basis over black magic. She also revealed whether she believes in the supernatural.. When we caught up with Piloo Vidyarthi for a conversation about her layered and commanding performance in Mandala Murders, we knew we were in for an honest, thoughtful take on her career, life after her divorce from actor Ashish Vidyarthi, and more. And she surely didn't disappoint. Her latest show with Vaani Kapoor, Netflix's Mandala Murders, took a surprising turn in its final episodes, leaving the audience on the edge. The show blends supernatural elements with sci-fi and thriller. In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, we asked Piloo Vidyarthi if she believes in the occult and whether she thinks black magic exists. Here's what she had to say. Speaking about Mandala Murders, and whether she believes in the supernatural herself, Piloo Vidyarthi said, 'No, (laughs)." She then went on to speak about the show. She revealed that the brief she received wasn't about mysticism — it was science. 'It's actually not what people think. It's a sci-fi series set in the Indian 1952 context. My character was part of a scientific cult… researchers and engineers who believed in natural energy transfers, from the arms, head, body, and mixing them. The story was about energy, not black magic." But public perception was very different. 'They were outcast as witches. But that's what makes the story so fascinating. It's not ghosts or black magic. People in opposition used to comment that they are performing black magic, so burn them. But they didn't burn, they continued with what they are doing." Piloo Vidyarthi reveals whether she believes in black magic She traced back her thoughts on black magic and said, 'I won't say that I disbelief it completely because during my bad days, I do tend to think whether someone has done something to me (laughs). Then when the situation turns, these thoughts don't occur." Piloo Vidyarthi speaks about her acting process, Dimple Kapadia's performance in Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo Smiling at the love her performance received, Piloo Vidyarthi opened up about her process. 'I don't watch series to perform. I socialise. I have a very small circle of close friends… I watch content but not with the intention to pick up anything, because acting can never be picked up." For her, acting is instinctual. 'It's my take on things. It develops organically. Good performances definitely feed you, but I believe if you're a good actor, you don't try to act. The moment you try to act, it becomes… acting," she explained the process. This grounded philosophy extends to her admiration for seasoned performers. 'When I saw Dimple Kapadia in Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, she wasn't 'acting'. She was that character. That's what makes it so beautiful." For her, the joy lies in working with good directors and sincere co-actors. 'Monica Chaudhary was brilliant. We had worked together earlier on The Wedding Story. My theatre colleague played Vikram Singh's mother — such a beautifully layered performance." Piloo Vidyarthi talks about Mandala Murders co-star Vaani Kapoor Piloo Vidyarthi also spoke about Vaani Kapoor, who worked with her in Mandala Murders. 'She's very natural," said, recalling her time on set with Vaani. 'She and I spoke briefly about our scenes. She had come all the way prepared. But what stood out to me was how consistent she is. Whether it's with the director, her co-actors, or the crew, she's the same – always calm, focused, and collaborative. That, I believe, is her strength," she expressed. Apart from Mandala Murders, Piloo Vidyarthi was also a part of Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan's Sarzameen. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
