EastEnders icon to leave BBC soap after huge betrayal
Now new spoilers have shown George packing up his bags and leaving Albert Square for good.
According to The Mirror, the chaos on the BBC show started when Junior revealed that George had gone off to see his ex-wfe on Christmas.
The EastEnders character insisted that he rejected her advances, but things took a dramataic turn when Elaine saw her husband being comforted by Cindy Beale.
After seeking advice from her Drew Peacock, she slept with another character called Stephen. When the pair eventually got their relationship back on track, she was unable to keep the secret from George.
When she came clean to him, he could not see past the 'betrayal', choosing to leave her.
Next week will see Phil Mitchell attempt to convince George to forgive Elaine.
After telling her that she should be given a second chance, she is left enraged by his inability to take any responsibiliy for the breakup and rejects him.
According to the EastEnders Wiki, George Knight, who is played Colin Salmon, is the patriarch of the Knight family and is the father of Junior, Gina and Anna Knight.
The ex-boxer has been involved in a number of stories since his first appearance on our screens in 2023.
These include his moving into the Queen Vic, his proposal to Elaine and the reveal that his ex-wife was Cindy Beale.

BBC - The Apprentice If you believe you have what it takes to become Lord Alan Sugar's next business associate, then you could be in luck. The BBC is hunting for its next group of hopefuls for The Apprentice, where contestants will battle through 12 demanding challenges to claim a life-changing opportunity. The Bezos Family Foundation announced the news, revealing she passed away peacefully at her Miami home on Thursday August 14 and Jeff has now shared a heartbreaking tribute Jeff Bezos is mourning the loss of his mother, Jacklyn 'Jackie' Bezos, who has died at the age of 78. Leonard and Hungry Paul - first look images and further casting details revealed
Leonard And Hungry Paul, produced by Subotica, is based on the award-winning, best-selling novel of the same name by Rónán Hession and has been adapted for BBC One Northern Ireland, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer by writers Richie Conroy and Mark Hodkinson. Set to air this Autumn the feel-good series follows two board-gaming friends in their thirties; Leonard, a ghost writer of children's encyclopaedias, and Hungry Paul, a part-time postal worker who still lives at home, who meander through leafy suburban life finding solace in their quiet routines. The unexpected death of Leonard's mother, the approaching wedding of Hungry Paul's sister and a tentative new romance for Leonard, prompts both men to meet a world that is suddenly wider and full of unfamiliar possibilities. It is set to star Alex Lawther (The End Of The F***ing World, ALIEN: EARTH) as Leonard, Laurie Kynaston (Fool Me Once, Sandman) as Hungry Paul and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell (Derry Girls, Screw) as Shelley. Also joining the cast are Helen Behan (The Virtues), Lorcan Cranitch (Bloodlands), Niamh Branigan (Harry Wild), Paul Reid (Sherlock & Daughter), Charlotte McCurry (Say Nothing) and David O'Reilly (Doctors).
