Forrester moves to St Johnstone on loan
It's the Gorgie club's second co-operation link after B Team centre-back and captain, Kenzi Nair, signed for Scottish League Two side, Spartans.
The initiative allows Premiership clubs to partner with one team in each of the three Scottish Professional Football League tiers below the top flight.
Simo Valakari's Perth side are targeting an immediate return to the top flight after their relegation last term and Forrester is on loan for the rest of the season.
Derek McInnes, Hearts' head coach, hopes right-back Forrester receives valuable game-time and he added: 'It is crucial for him to keep developing and improving.'

Viktor Gyokeres ends 69-match, 28-month streak on forgettable Arsenal debut at Man Utd
Arsenal got their Premier League campaign off to a winning start away to Manchester United but new striker Viktor Gyokeres didn't enjoy the best of debuts for the Gunners Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres got an immediate lesson in the challenges posed by the Premier League after his £64m summer move from Sporting Lisbon. The Swedish striker scored 54 goals in his final season in Portugal, but didn't even register a shot on his top-flight debut for the Gunners. It brings to an end a streak lasting some 28 months. Gyokeres registered at least one shot in every single one of his league appearances for Sporting, but failed to do so for Arsenal against Manchester United on Sunday. You have to go back 69 games for the last time Gyokeres failed to register a shot in a league outing. According to BBC Sport, the game in question was Coventry vs Blackburn in the Championship, with the Sky Blues claiming a 1-0 win despite their leading man coming up short. Gyokeres was celebrating another 1-0 win on Sunday despite his personal struggles. Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the game, capitalising on an Altay Bayindir error to nod home at the back post after a Declan Rice corner. Arsenal's new No.14 scored in pre-season during a win at home to Athletic Club. And, while he was made to wait in the league, manager Mikel Arteta recognised he wasn't the only one to find things tough. "We came here away and won which is a big result. We were clearly not at our best," Arteta told Match of the Day. "We attacked the box and we reacted well to unusual mistakes. The team reacted time after time in an incredible way. Very proud of that because that is why we got the opportunity to win the game. "We showed a resilience and a will to win. They put you on the ropes here, you will have to have moments when you suffer. To find a way to win at this ground, I'm very happy with the team." Arsenal's next game comes at home to Leeds United, who begin their own campaign against Everton on Monday night. Daniel Farke's side scored a league-leading 95 goals en route to promotion from the Championship last term so Arsenal may need to be at their best defensively once more. No team conceded fewer than Arsenal in last season's Premier League, with goalkeeper David Raya claiming the golden glove award. Raya needed to be sharp to snuff out a couple of United attacks on Sunday, but pointed to the team effort required. "That's the willingness, the fight, the spirit that we have altogether, where things are not going our way and we make mistakes, everybody's sprinting back and trying to help the teammate that's made a mistake to recover the ball and to do the right thing," the Spaniard said. "So we did that and I think we dug deep very, very well, especially the last 10-15 minutes where they threw everything to us and we defended very well, so that's credit to the team."

Promotion is Cardiff's 'only goal'
Goalkeeper Nathan Trott says anything other than promotion for Cardiff City is "not good enough" this season as the Bluebirds target an immediate return to the Barry-Murphy's side have made an impressive start to their League One campaign - their first in the third tier since 2002-03 - having collected seven points from the nine on Trott says the club's sole aim this season is to ensure they are playing second tier football next term."That's the only goal we have in mind, that's the only thing we speak about. Anything other than that is not good enough - especially for the squad we have," he said."It's way too early to get too positive about it, I think we've got a long way to go, but it's certainly the start we were looking for." Trott has been the only player brought in to Cardiff City Stadium since the Bluebirds were relegated from the has kept clean sheets in each of his two league appearances against Port Vale and Rotherhan United while he also featured in the EFL Cup first round win against Swindon style of play has been evident from the outset - with the 26-year-old demonstrating an impressive ability to help Cardiff build from the Trott says his capabilities in possession were a pivotal factor in Barry-Murphy's decision to sign him on loan from Copenhagen."For me it was just the energy I had from the coaching staff and the sporting director - speaking with them on a few calls, the energy I felt was that they wanted me and the type of 'keeper that I am and how they would use me in the system that we play. I think it'll bring the best out of my game," said Trott."I think that (style) was one of the main factors, to have someone who is comfortable with the ball at their feet. I think that's one of my strengths."For me it's just to keep adapting to the system that we have and getting used to different tactics and finding the fine details on how we're supposed to play and our identity as a team. That, for me, is the next challenge, just to try and keep improving." Trott returns to former club Wimbledon on Tuesday night (19:45 BST) as Cardiff bid to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2025-26 goalkeeper made 26 appearances across all competitions for the Dons while on loan from West Ham United during the 2019-20 campaign."That was my first loan. I loved it, it was my first experience of senior football," he said."I was a different 'keeper then than I am now, but it'll be interesting to go back and maybe see a few familiar faces."I think since then I've matured and become a whole different type of person and player but I have a lot of good memories there."Then, as now, Wimbledon were in League One."I know about the division and how competitive it can be," added Trott."This year compared to when I was at Wimbledon is a completely different experience."The goal for us at Wimbledon was survival whereas here it's to win everything and get promoted back to where the club belongs, so it's a different type of environment for me."
