TaylorMade Golf has signed 16-year-old amateur golfer Asterisk Talley to a sponsorship deal.
Talley is the top-ranked junior girl's golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and recently competed in the U.S. Women's Open.
TaylorMade has a stable of staff players that includes Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda and Brooke Henderson, and on Wednesday, the Carlsbad, California-based company added 16-year-old Asterisk Talley to that group.
While the rules governing amateur athletics have changed in recent years, allowing many athletes to be paid for the use of their name, image and likeness (NIL), financial details regarding the partnership between Talley and TaylorMade were not disclosed.
Talley, a native of Chowchilla, California, is currently the top-ranked player in the Girls division of the Rolex AJGA Rankings, having won the 2025 AJGA Fortinet Stanford Invitational and ANNIKA Junior Invitational titles. Last season, she competed in the U.S. Women's Open (where she finished 44th) and was on the United States team that narrowly lost the Curtis Cup, a competition between the best female amateur golfers from America against the best players from Great Britain and Ireland. However, in that event, Talley shined, going 2-1-1 in match play, including a singles win over Lottie Woad, who is the top-ranked female amateur golfer in the world.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Kyle Hendricks earned the 100th win of his career, Ryan Zeferjahn, Reid Detmers and Kenley Jansen combined for three innings of scoreless relief, and the Los Angeles Angels held on for a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night. Hendricks (3-6) gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings, striking out two and walking two. The 35-year-old right-hander escaped a jam in the fifth inning. With runners at second and third with two outs, Hendricks got Randy Arozarena to ground out. Zeferjahn retired the side in order in the seventh, Detmers struck out two of four batters in the eighth, and Jansen threw a 1-2-3 ninth for his 13th save. Currently, Nunes has a record of 23-5, and that mark includes an unprecedented run as the UFC's bantamweight and featherweight champion. From March 2015 through 2023, Nunes went 14-1, including a 12-fight win streak. Nunes' lone loss during her dominant stretch came against Peña. The current champion defeated Nunes via second-round submission at UFC 269 to win the title. Nunes regained the title with a unanimous decision victory in their rematch. Peña wanted a trilogy fight and notoriously booed Nunes as the latter placed her gloves in the center of the Octagon back in 2023 when the Lioness walked away from the sport. As it turns out, Peña could get another crack at her rival. She has a massive test on her hands on Saturday in New Jersey. Harrison, an Olympic gold medalist and former Professional Fighters League champion, is vying to become the first woman to win titles with both organizations. Harrison has been pretty dominant in her two fights in the UFC, with a stoppage win over Holly Holm and a unanimous decision victory over Ketlen Vieira to earn the title shot. Harrison's biggest issues have seemingly been just making weight. She's never missed weight, but has looked worse for wear each time. Friday was no exception, as the world-class athlete looked massively depleted on the scales but rejuvenated later that evening during the ceremonial weigh-ins. MLB executive Bryan Seeley named College Sports Commission CEO after NCAA settlement approval
The newly formed agency in charge of policing rules in the remade college sports system picked Major League Baseball executive Bryan Seeley as its new CEO. The College Sports Commission announced Seeley as its new leader Friday, shortly after U.S. Judge Claudia Wilken granted final approval of the $2.8 billion House v. NCAA settlement. The settlement allows schools to directly pay players for using their name, image and likeness in endorsement deals. It also allows players to receive NIL payments from third parties. The new commission will be in charge of making sure schools adhere to the rules, which call for a $20.5 million cap on all payments. It is also setting up a clearinghouse to evaluate third-party deals worth $600 or more. 'I look forward to implementing a system that prioritizes fairness, integrity, and opportunity, while preserving the values that make college sports unique,' Seeley said in a statement announcing his appointment. 'I am energized by the work ahead and excited to begin building out our team.' As executive vice president of legal and operations, Seeley oversaw MLB investigations, compliance, state government relations, sports betting and other areas. He played a key role in MLB's sign-stealing investigation into the Houston Astros in 2020. The CSC will begin operation on July 1 when the settlement officially takes effect. ___ AP college sports:
