Telangana CM Revanth Reddy requests Union Minister of Sports to conduct 'Khelo India Games'
The Chief Minister also appealed to the Union Minister to consider the possibility of hosting the National Games and other national and international games, along with Khelo India, in Telangana state in the future, as per the release.
According to the official statement, CM Revanth Reddy met with Mansukh L Mandaviya at his official residence in Delhi today.
During the meeting, the CM requested for allocation of funds for the development of sports infrastructure, training of athletes, selection of sports experts and other programs under Khelo India.
The Chief Minister said that it required Rs 100 crore to develop sports infrastructure, mainly the construction of a synthetic athletic track and multipurpose indoor stadium in Bhuvanagiri, a swimming pool in Rayagiri, a synthetic athletic track in Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, a multipurpose hall in Satavahana University, Karimnagar, an Archery range and a Synthetic Hockey field in Hakimpet, Hyderabad, squash court, natural football field development and a synthetic track in LB Stadium, renovation of hockey ground in Gachibowli and a synthetic athletic track in Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, as per the release.
The Chief Minister briefed the Union Minister that the state government was already making every effort to improve sports facilities and requested adequate cooperation from the centre.
The CM also appealed to the union minister to organise at least two events in the Olympics to be held in the country in 2036 in Telangana and provide fare concessions in train travel to the sports persons who participated in national-level games like in the past.
According to the official statement, State Government Advisor (Sports) AP Jitender Reddy, MPs Mallu Ravi and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM Special Secretary Ajit Reddy and Secretary for Coordination of Central Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes Dr. Gaurav Uppal are present in the meeting. Delhiites lost Rs 70 crore to cyber conmen in 184 cases in first half of 2025: Govt in Lok Sabha
Residents of Delhi lost around Rs 70 crore to cyber fraud cases registered in the Capital in the first six months of this year, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said in Lok Sabha while answering a query about cybercrime in the city. As per data presented, the number of cyber financial fraud cases registered up to June 30 this year was 184. Last year, the number stood at around Rs 817 crore with 1,591 cases. Data also shows that Rs 64 crore was lost to cybercrimes, the highest number in the last 11 years from 2014. Rai also mentioned that the Ministry of Home Affairs provides financial assistance under the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCPWC) scheme, to states and Union Territories for their capacity building such as setting up of cyber forensic cum training laboratories, hiring of junior cyber consultants, and training of law enforcement agencies personnel, public prosecutors and judicial officers. In addition, the Delhi Police have set up Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) equipped with the latest equipment and software to investigate complex and sensitive cyber crime cases. Besides, one Cyber Police Station in each of the 15 districts of the Delhi Police has become functional since 2022 to deal with cybercrime-related cases in Delhi, Rai said. Rai added that help desks at all police stations are equipped to assist women affected by cybercrimes. A specialised unit, Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC), is also functioning under the Delhi Police to handle such cases with sensitivity and urgency. The Indian Express reached out to the Delhi Police spokesperson to ask about the number of cases this year compared to 2024, even though cases of cyber fraud are being reported regularly. However, there was no response.

The Lugansk (LPR) and Donetsk (DPR) People's Republics, along with the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, became part of Russia after referendums in 2022. While the LPR was fully taken by Russian forces earlier this year, Moscow's control over the other regions remains partial. Kyiv continues to claim all four territories, as well as Crimea, which joined Russia in 2014 following a referendum held shortly after the Western-backed Maidan coup in Kyiv, RT reported. Zelensky has repeatedly rejected any territorial concessions to Russia, while Moscow insists any peace deal must involve Ukraine's withdrawal from the country's newly incorporated regions, according to RT. Tirupati will be developed as a spiritual corridor: BJP State chief
Tirupati: There is every need to enhance the glory of the ancient world famous pilgrim centre Tirupati, said BJP State president PVN Madhav. Speaking to mediapersons, Madhav who arrived here on Tuesday to participate in a series of programmes in the city, said the BJP will work towards developing a Tirupati spiritual corridor linking half-a-dozen other ancient temples attracting a huge number of devotees, located near the city. This was to lay the path for the development of other shrines like Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Nagalapuram within 50 km from Tirupati providing an opportunity to visit all the shrines adding more to the popularity of Tirupati. On the controversy of other religious people working in TTD, the BJP chief made it clear that his party wants the government to take required steps to repatriate all the non-Hindus working in TTD, and send them to other government departments.
