Tirupati will be developed as a spiritual corridor: BJP State chief
Speaking to mediapersons, Madhav who arrived here on Tuesday to participate in a series of programmes in the city, said the BJP will work towards developing a Tirupati spiritual corridor linking half-a-dozen other ancient temples attracting a huge number of devotees, located near the city.
This was to lay the path for the development of other shrines like Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Nagalapuram within 50 km from Tirupati providing an opportunity to visit all the shrines adding more to the popularity of Tirupati.
On the controversy of other religious people working in TTD, the BJP chief made it clear that his party wants the government to take required steps to repatriate all the non-Hindus working in TTD, and send them to other government departments.
Claiming that the Andhra Pradesh State was back on the development track after the coalition government came power, he said about Rs 10 lakh crore investments have started pouring in within a year.
While in the previous government, the State came to standstill and the Central funds meant for gram panchayats from Rs 2 crore Rs 10 crore for each village were diverted hitting hard basic facilities like roads, sanitation and drinking water supply in villages.
Earlier, Madhav arrived in the city to a tumultuous welcome from the party activists and leaders who turned up in large number from various places in Tirupati district.
Immediately after his arrival, he along with party district president Samanchi Srinivas participated in 'Chai Pe Charcha' programme and interacted with the walkers in Jagjeevan Municipal Park.
Madhav said he was visiting districts under the party programme 'Saradhyam' in which he was interacting with locals to know about the local issues. He was also getting feedback on the implementation of Centre-sponsored welfare and development schemes.
Kola Anand, Muni Subramanyam, Ponaganti Bhaskar, Vara Prasad, Gundala Gopinath Reddy, Penubala Chandrasekhar, Ajay Kumar Jalli and Madhusudhan were present.

MUMBAI: The central government on Wednesday notified the appointment of advocate Aarti Sathe, former spokesperson of the Maharashtra BJP, and two others, as judges of the Bombay High Court. Centre notifies appointment of Aarti Sathe as HC judge 'In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Ajit Bhagwanrao Kadethankar, (ii) Shri Sushil Manohar Ghodeswar and (iii) Ms Aarti Arun Sathe, to be Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices,' the notification stated. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice (Appointments Division) issued the notification on Wednesday, a fortnight after the Supreme Court Collegium on July 28 recommended Sathe's appointment, along with the other two judges. Following this, opposition leaders in Maharashtra raised objections to Sathe's appointment, calling her elevation to the judiciary 'the gravest blow to democracy'. The appointment of three new judges has taken the strength of the high court to 69, against a sanctioned strength of 94. 'The appointment of a political figure raises doubts about the entire process of delivery of justice. It also undermines the principle of separation of power ensured by the Constitution,' NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar had said, and demanded that the decision be reconsidered. Sathe said she had already resigned from the party, while the Maharashtra BJP pointed out that such an appointment had taken place during the Congress regime too. 'I had resigned from all political posts long before this. So that settles it. I don't want to respond to anything else,' said Sathe. The Congress's state unit president Harshwardhan Sapkal said that if someone who held an active position in a political party was appointed as a judge, her judgments could not be impartial. 'Democracy and the Constitution have been systematically sidelined in the country since 2014,' said Sapkal. 'All autonomous institutions are operating under government directives, even the Election Commission of India. But the most serious and worrying development is within the judiciary itself.' Responding to the controversy, the BJP said Sathe had resigned as party spokesperson from the post on January 6 last year, and had posted her resignation letter on social media. Sathe's legal practice has largely been in the field of direct and indirect taxes. She is an alumna of Government Law College, Mumbai. Her father, Arun P Sathe, is a BJP worker with an RSS background. He was BJP in-charge of the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh and was also associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena. Arun Sathe had unsuccessfully fought the Lok Sabha election as a BJP candidate in 1989, from Mumbai North-West constituency, against the Congress's Sunil Dutt. He is the elder brother of former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. A similar controversy took place when the central government appointed Arun Sathe to the board of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in August 2015.

'Congress won 10 seats in Haryana by margins ranging from 100 to 1,000 votes. If the EVMs were faulty, how did they win these seats?' he asked. Cabinet ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Shyam Singh Rana were also present. Saini urged the Congress not to mislead the public and remarked that party leaders should 'explain the truth to Rahul Gandhi and get him treated.' He further said that despite campaigning under the banner of the Constitution, the INDIA bloc was rejected by voters, who chose Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. 'In Haryana too, BJP has formed the government for the third time in a row,' he added. According to the CM, Congress's frustration stems from the BJP's development work and welfare measures such as Ayushman health cards, toilets in every home, ration distribution, and free gas cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana. 'The party ruled for 55 years, but today it cannot digest the BJP's efforts to uplift the poor,' Saini said. Prajapati community land rights Earlier in the day, Saini chaired a state-level programme in Kurukshetra to distribute land entitlement certificates to families from the Prajapati community. The event was held simultaneously in all 22 districts, benefiting around 1,00,000 families across 1,700 villages. The certificates, issued under the Gram Shamlat Bhumi Niyamwali, 1964, grant the community collective rights to excavate soil, providing legal authority to continue their traditional craft without hindrance. Officials said this will enable artisans to work closer to home, modernise their methods, and enhance product quality to meet market demand. Saini urged the community to integrate traditional skills with new technology and take advantage of government schemes to boost both income and craftsmanship. The announcement fulfilled a promise he made during the Daksh Prajapati Jayanti celebrations in Bhiwani on July 13. Khattar takes part in Tiranga Yatra in Yamunanagar Union power minister and former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday participated in the 'Tiranga Yatra' here, along with party workers and students of the Maharshi Dayanand University. He also urged the people to stay away from drugs and make their families drug-free. Addressing the gathering at MDU, Khattar appraised the students and teachers about the values, cultures and social concerns of importance in life. 40 Kshatriya MLAs' 'family get-together' in Lucknow sparks political debate
