Amazon slashes price of robot vacuum with thousands of five-star reviews

Daily Record10-05-2025
Shoppers who snap up this deal can say goodbye to dragging a heavy vacuum around the house
At the end of a long work week, housework isn't an appealing prospect. However, new tech is making it a whole lot easier - and shoppers are taking notice of new advancements for home maintenance.
Robot vacuum cleaners are one of the gadgets that have become popular, but they can be quite expensive. Those in the market for an automated vacuum are in luck, as they can get the eufy L60 Robot Vacuum Cleaner for £269.99 down from £349.99 on Amazon - a 23% saving.
Dealing with tangled hair in vacuum rollers is one of those little chores nobody enjoys, and that's where the detangling tech with the eufy vacuum comes in - it cuts through hair that wraps around the roller brush, meaning shoppers don't have to pull it out by hand anymore.
Another great feature is the self-emptying base. It uses powerful suction to pull dirt and dust into a 2.5-litre bag, which means buyers can go up to two months without emptying it themselves. Shoppers just get to let it do its thing and forget about any daily clean-ups. With 5,000 Pa of suction power, it doesn't mess around. Crumbs, pet hair, and dust get picked up in a single sweep, leaving floors actually clean in one go.
Thanks to laser-based mapping, the vacuum knows exactly where it's going, navigating homes in neat paths instead of random zigzags. Shoppers can also use the app to tell it exactly what they want cleaned - they are also able to pick rooms, set no-go zones, or even map out different floors.
There are plenty of options for robot vacuums that people can choose from, however. For example, the Roomba Max 705 Vac Robot is priced at £549 at iRobot and includes features such as anti-tangle dual rubber brushes, vacuums with extreme suction and auto-empties for up to 75 days. Another option could be the Living and Home Robot Vacuum Cleaner for £165.88 at Debenhams, which comes in a cute baby pink colour and can be controlled by mobile app, remote control, or a switch on the top.
The eufy L60 has a high 4.4 out of 5 star rating from a total of 1,975 reviews on Amazon. One shopper wrote: 'One of the best things I've ever bought!'
Another person said: 'We have a very hairy German Shepherd, so I had my doubts that the L60 model would be sufficient. It works very well, making daily life a bit easier. The app works well and the hoover creates a very good map of the house. You can send it to clean everywhere or set up zones.'
Not everyone was as impressed though, with one customer writing: 'It is very noisy and the dust bin is too small.'
'Little Eufy is an excellent companion, she's very easy to use and can be linked to Google assistant,' said another.

Gadget review: ESR Wireless Mouse - I never knew I needed this until I did

I didn't wake up today knowing that I was about to be blown away by a gadget I had never thought about until now. I'm quite easily impressed with gadgets. I like them to work and have a purpose. The ESR MagMouse's brilliance comes via the sheer simplicity of the product. How it works is you connect a little magnetic base to your laptop and then when you aren't using your mouse you just snap it onto the base. That means that you never lose your mouse or leave it in another room when you need it - you can't, as it is attached to the laptop. It also means you get to carry it around wherever you go without having to stick it in your pocket or watch it fall of the laptop lid as you balance it walking downstairs. Sometimes it really is the cleverest ideas that are the best, and in this case certainly the most practical. I genuinely love this and as someone who switches between an office in the loft to the dining room table, it's very handy. It's also very handy out in the field when covering things like football games where you have to transport your equipment a couple of times during a game. My old wireless mouse was a bit of a pain as it took an AA battery and I broke the lid after dropping it, that meant the battery was always a little loose. This just comes with a wireless adapter and a small USB lead that you connect for a really quick charge. Just one minute of charge delivers four of use, and a full 45-minute charge will leave you sorted for a whopping 80 days. There is a switch on the back that lets you flit between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.0 across Windows, macOS, iPadOS, Android, and Linux. Navigation is a breeze with a four way scroll wheel and I really liked the forward and back buttons which I find really useful for work, particularly when in my emails. The mouse sits really comfortably in your hand and the rubber coating means you never lose grip and it's really practical in terms of use. As with most devices these days there is a button to control the precision. The lowest setting feels like you are dragging a bag of coal over the desktop, so I would suggest somewhere nearer the top end so you can whizz around the screen. The magic here though is definitely the ability to snap it onto your laptop and carry it around, it's a gimmick, but you quickly realise it's a very practical and pleasing gimmick. ESR Wireless Mouse is available for £39.99 from Amazon Reviews Amazon User: "Mouse is way too light, practically weighs nothing. Wrist feels akward when using it, which makes the ease of use not good. Seems to have some lag in the cursor. Clicks are way to silent and often find myself clicking more than once because you cant really feel the clicks. Not for me. The only positive about this mouse is the USB C option it has, which suprisingly nothing comes with these days. Build quality seems ok but kind of cheap." Amazon User: Since I'm on my laptop most of the day, I wanted a wireless mouse that was both comfortable and easy to use, and this one has worked out great. It's lightweight and shaped just right for my hand, so I can use it for hours without strain. The black design looks sleek, and the clicks feel crisp with no delay in the connection. The scroll wheel moves smoothly and with good control. One thing I like a lot is the magnetic base that comes with it. When I'm not using the mouse, I just snap it on the base and pack them together with my laptop. That makes it easy to carry around and helps me avoid leaving it behind.
