Man Dies at Oasis Concert, Seemingly After Falling: ‘Shocked and Saddened,' Band Says

While Liam and Noel Gallagher performed their hits to an enthusiastic crowd at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday, Aug. 2, a man in the audience died at the venue, according to reports from The Independent and the BBC.
The Metropolitan Police said that medics, police and the London Ambulance service responded to reports that a man in his 40s at the concert had been injured at around 10:19 p.m. local time, according to the outlets.
Police said the man, who 'was found with injuries consistent with a fall,' was pronounced dead at the scene, the U.K. outlets said.
Police also asked those who attended the Aug. 2 show to comb through their concert footage and to come forward with any information about the fatal incident.

'The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage,' the Metropolitan Police said, according to The Independent.
Reps for Oasis and the Metropolitan Police did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Sunday, Aug. 3.In a statement obtained by the BBC, the band said they were 'shocked and saddened' to learn of the fan's death.
'Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved,' the band said.
Wembley Stadium said in a statement obtained by the BBC, 'Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers."

Oasis' Wembley Stadium concert on Aug. 3 will go ahead as planned, according to the venue's social media accounts. It is the fifth of seven sold-out shows the band is playing at the U.K. venue for their headline-making reunion tour.
The first Wembley leg wraps on Aug. 3, with the 'She's Electric' rockers returning to the iconic venue for a second leg on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28.

Father of slain NYPD Det. Didarul Islam breaks silence: "I feel like I'm in darkness"
The father of NYPD Det. Didarul Islam, who was killed in last week's Midtown Manhattan office shooting, spoke out Tuesday for the first time since his son's death. Two brothers, ages 7 and 4 years old, are too young to fully understand what they've lost. Last Monday, their father was moonlighting as a security guard at 345 Park Ave., when a gunman from Las Vegas opened fire, killing him and three others. Abdur Rob, Islam's father, spoke with CBS News New York through a translator from his home in the Bronx. "Didarul Islam was my only son. Without him here, I feel emptiness. When I went and first saw his body, I had a mini stroke. After that, I've been lost ever since," Rob said. His 36-year-old son was born in Bangladesh and moved to the United States as a child. Joining the NYPD, his family said, was a dream come true. "He always wanted to be a police officer to serve his community, to serve the people around him, and set a better example for his kids," said Zamilur Rahman, Islam's cousin. Absent from Tuesday's solemn family gathering was the detective's widow, who is due to give birth to their third son next week. "There's not a moment that goes by I don't think about my son. I feel like I'm in darkness, but I will try my best so my grandsons can always remember him in the good times, not the bad times," Rob said. Islam was laid to rest last week, with hundreds of New Yorkers, including his brothers in blue, coming to pay their respects. "In this difficult time, we saw something powerful.
