Astronomer chief Andy Byron faces probe by company after video with alleged mistress at Coldplay concert goes viral

Sky News AU3 days ago
An American chief executive who was busted with his alleged mistress appearing all-loved up at a Coldplay concert is being investigated by his company.
Astronomer chief Andy Byron had his arms wrapped around the chest of fellow colleague Kristin Cabot at the British band's tour in Boston, Massachusetts, this week.
They quickly separated, with Mr Byron seen ducking away while Ms Cabot covered her face with her hands when they were shown on the big screens of the stadium.
Coldplay singer Chris Martin joked to the crowd that the couple were "either having an affair or just very shy" as thousands of other concert-goers laughed and cheered.
The company said on LinkedIn that Mr Byron is under formal investigation over his alleged cheating scandal involving Astronomer's chief human resources officer.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability," it said.
"The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly."
It stressed no other colleagues were seen in the video and that Mr Byron has not released any formal statement, saying reports the chief executive had are "incorrect".
The alleged tryst was filmed by Coldplay fan Grace Springer and shared to TikTok where it has been seen close to 70 million times, with many news stories already written.
Mr Byron's identity was quickly outed in the comments section.
Ms Springer told The Sun her intention was to not expose anyone and only posted the shocking moment online because she captured an "interesting reaction".
'A part of me feels bad for turning these people's lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes," she said, in a swipe at the couple.
'I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them.'
A former employee of Astronomer has also since come out to The New York Post, accusing Mr Byron of being a "toxic" boss who was aggressive and obsessed with sales.
'The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody's laughing their ass off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed,' they said.
According to reports, Mr Byron is still married while Ms Cabot divorced in 2022.
Mr Byron joined Astronomer as the CEO in mid July of 2023, according to his LinkedIn page, which has been taken down since his name made global headlines.
Astronomer is a company that "empowers data teams to bring mission-critical software, analytics and AI (artificial intelligence) to life," its website states.

Morgan Wallen's cheeky on-stage dig after Coldplay kiss cam scandal: ‘Side chick'

Don't miss out on the headlines from Music Tours. Followed categories will be added to My News. Country star Morgan Wallen has made a cheeky reference to the recent Coldplay kiss cam scandal during his most recent show. The Last Night singer took the stage in Arizona over the weekend, where he referenced the viral footage of married Astronomer CEO Andy Byron being caught in an intimate embrace with his HR chief, Kristin Cabot. 'Anybody in here with their side chick or whatever, I think you're safe here,' Wallen, 32, told the audience, per video shared online. 'I don't condone cheating … anymore.' X Learn More SUBSCRIBER ONLY The 'affair' scandal erupted following Coldplay's concert in Boston last Wednesday, during which a kisscam scanned different couples in the audience, projecting them on the big screen. When the camera focused on the corporate suite, Byron was seen with his arms wrapped tightly around Cabot – but it was what happened next that saw the moment become global news (and spark endless memes). Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were caught canoodling on the kisscam at a Coldplay concert in Boston. Picture: TikTok The footage went viral. Picture: TikTok The loved-up pair, noticing the camera, appeared horrified and tried to hide from view, prompting frontman Chris Martin to joke: 'Whoa, look at these two. Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.' Martin joked they were having an 'affair' when they popped up on the jumbotron. Picture: TikTok Footage captured by fans in the crowd then surfaced online, with internet sleuths quickly discovering the identities of the pair – and the fact they both appear to be married to other people. Byron's wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly removed his last name from her Facebook page shortly after the scandal went public, and later deleted her account entirely. On Saturday, and following news it had launched an investigation, Astronomer announced that Byron had resigned from his position. Dog the Bounty Hunter's 13-year-old stepgrandson killed by his dad in accidental shooting: report

Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. The stepson of Duane 'the Bounty Hunter' Chapman accidentally shot and killed the famed American TV personality's stepgrandson over the weekend, according to a report. The tragedy unfolded at the Naples, Florida apartment of Gregory Zecca – the son of Chapman's wife, Francie Frane – on Saturday night, TMZ reported. Zecca allegedly shot and killed his own son Anthony in what the family described in a statement to the outlet as a 'tragic accident', per the New York Post. The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the Naples Daily News it was investigating a deadly shooting from Saturday night, calling it an 'isolated incident' without identifying anyone involved. 'We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,' representatives for Chapman and his family told TMZ. Anthony Zecca (middle bottom), Dog's stepgrandson, was killed in an accidental shooting. Picture: Instagram The incident occurred on Saturday night. Picture: Instagram Zecca — a member of Chapman's bounty team, according to TMZ — appears to have a passion for firearms. He took his son Anthony to a gun range in 2021 and that same year the father-son duo visited a gun store, according to photos shared on his Instagram. Chapman, 72, married Frane, Zecca's mother, in 2021 shortly after their respective, former spouses died. The Dog was previously married to Beth Chapman for 13 years until she died in June 2019 following a lengthy battle against throat cancer. In part, their families were united by their shared grief and patriotism. 'We understood the pain that the other one was feeling and [in] those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling,' Frane said in a September 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight. 'We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way.' The tragedy unfolded at Gregory Zecca's apartment in Naples, Florida. Picture: Instagram Frane and her family, including Zecca, were quick to join in on Chapman's lifestyle. 'I know she's a hunter. Her and her two sons have hunted bow hunt, so they track, they look for things that the prey leaves behind,' Chapman said on The Dr. Oz Show in 2020. 'She just fit right in,' he added about his first bounty hunt alongside his would-be fifth wife. 'She started getting leads and writing them down, so there's more than just tracking and hunting.' Chapman also has 13 children between six different women – but he was only ever married to four of them. The Post has reached out to the Collier County Sheriff's Office for more information. Leigh-Anne Pinnock hopes for 'impactful' Little Mix reunion

Leigh-Anne Pinnock wants a Little Mix reunion to be "impactful". The 33-year-old pop star is currently focused on her solo career after the girl group went on hiatus in 2022 and believes that she and bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards should wait a while before getting back together. Speaking on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show on Monday (21.07.25), Leigh-Anne said: "We cannot do this (get back together) for a little while because otherwise it wouldn't be as impactful. Let's enjoy solo man but I do feel that people miss Little Mix. "What we could do is we could still do our solo stuff, do a little Blackpink, that would be kind of iconic. Or do a show where we all perform our solo stuff, that would be sick." Leigh-Anne revealed that she would be keen to see British R+B group Honeyz reunite as she loved performing their songs when she was performing in talent shows as a youngster. Asked which band she wants to get back together, she said: "I used to sing Honeyz for talent shows when I was younger so the Honeyz." Leigh-Anne has three-year-old twin daughters, whose names she has not made public, with her footballer husband Andre Gray and explained that she has already joined the parents WhatsApp group in preparation for the pair starting school. The Been a Minute singer said: "The WhatsApp group is already popping off and I'm getting overwhelmed but for them I want to be quite involved and meet the parents and all of that!" Leigh-Anne previously revealed that she and her Little Mix bandmates considered scrapping their hiatus after enjoying themselves on the Confetti tour but ultimately feels that the trio made the right decision as they concentrate on their solo material. She said: "The three of us have this genuine sisterhood, and no one else will ever get it. "In fact, that last tour was so beautiful that there were times when we asked if we should just carry on as Little Mix because it felt so good. I don't think it would have worked at that point in our lives, though." The Don't Say Love hitmaker was scared about going solo at first but feels that she has proven that she is up to the task of being a standalone artist. She said: "I believe in my talent. I believe in myself and also, I just love to sing. There's plenty of things I could do. But I know music is where I'm supposed to be. I'm excited to see where it's going to take me next."
