Importantly, no ad agency would be involved in the process. So is the writing on the wall for the traditional advertising industry? Will the next viral video campaign or earworm jingle be the brainchild of a computer, rather than the fabled advertising creatives celebrated in the TV show Mad Men? And if so, what lessons are there for other creative industries?

Five years and one pandemic later, Ann Redding and Matt Danzer's Thai-inspired diner—aptly named Thai Diner —continues to thrive. Most days, the street corner on Kenmare and Mott Streets spots a steady crowd, with diners vying for brunches of Thai tea French toast and disco fries. But that's not to say that the husband-and-wife team hasn't experienced the ups and downs of owning a restaurant in NYC: After running one of the most acclaimed Thai restaurants in the city for seven years running, Uncle Boons became a pandemic casualty, closing in 2020. The spirit of Boons—one of creative Thai cooking paired with all-American comfort—stayed alive, though, through their follow-up restaurant, Uncle Boons Sister, a casual, dine-in locale that not only helped with overflow but became its own hub for curry dishes and laab. But after transitioning to takeout and delivery only, the restaurant also shuttered its doors in 2020. All these years later, however, it seems as though Redding and Danzer have retained the keys to that very front door, as the couple is reportedly dropping a brand-new concept in the old storefront. Come this summer, Mommy Pai's will open in the 203 Mott Street location. As reported by Eater NY, the new takeout-only spot will be a 'Thai chicken fingers and tropical fruit drinks concept,' according to a spokesperson of the restaurant. It seems as though the restaurant idea has quietly been in works for a while, as the first Instagram post announcing the new concept dropped all the way back in September 2024.

Brooklyn Beckham reaches out to family for first time with sweet words amid feud
Brooklyn Beckham has reached out for the first time to his family on social media in a heartfelt gesture. The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham posted a moving message to his grandma, Sandra. He said: 'Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.' He posted it alongside two love hearts. It's thought to be the first time he has publicly acknowledged his family with whom he is at the centre of a bitter feud. But insiders still believe there is no way he will bury the hatchet with his parents. A source said: 'At present it feels like there is too much to overcome.' It comes as the Mirror revealed last month how their eldest son was in London at the same time as his dad, but kept his visit a secret. A picture uploaded to Instagram showed Brooklyn sipping a pint in a pub, with bottles of his own-brand hot sauce on the table in front of him. Innocuous enough to outsiders – but friends of the Beckhams recognised the distinctive light fittings and stark green walls in the background. One pal says: 'The picture was taken in London's Wigmore pub, which is part of the Langham Hotel where the Beckhams have sometimes stayed. 'The fact that Brooklyn was in the country and failed to see any of his family was heartbreaking. And not only that, but here he was posting about it.' Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, had flown to London for a joint photoshoot with Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, which took place less than two miles from the Beckham family home in Holland Park. Dad David, 50, was not far away – he was pictured with the King at the Chelsea Flower show that day – just three miles from the Wigmore. A pal reveals: 'Brooklyn had kept the visit quiet from not only his mum and dad but his siblings and extended family. It was terribly sad that he had flown thousands of miles to London and hadn't engaged at all. It would have been very easy to meet up.' Another Instagram post, made on May 16, showed Brooklyn with Nicola's late grandmother to mark the anniversary of her death. He captioned it: 'I miss you and will love you forever.' A friend said: 'Brooklyn's heart is of course in the right place…but it hasn't gone unnoticed how all the while he is posting about Nicola's family he is silent about his own, including his own grandfather whose birthday it was last week.' To acquaintances of the family, the blame for what they believe are 'performative' social media posts lies with heiress Nicola. They list concerns that she is somehow orchestrating her husband's social media activity, which they claim is out of character, and that she is responsible for 'isolating' Brooklyn from his friends and family. A pal says: 'She is creating conflict where there is none and divides are springing up left, right and centre.' But a source close to the couple has hit back at suggestions Nicola is 'controlling' her husband – and insists Brooklyn is very much his own man. They reveal: 'She is not isolating him at all. He is free to do what he wants and he loves his wife and they are happy together. They are each other's family.' .

Orange Walk to draw 3,000 marchers on Ayrshire streets as council warns of disruption
North Ayrshire Council has issued a warning that an Orange Walk planned for Saturday could cause disruption. Around 3,000 marchers are set to take the streets of Ayrshire in an Orange Walk as the local council warns of disruption. On Saturday morning, an orange march will commence in Kilbirnie, with North Ayrshire Council expecting the procession to attract 3,000 people from several flute bands. It will kick off in Kilbirnie's public park at 11.30am before making it's way towards the town centre. North Ayrshire Council have warned locals that the march could cause traffic delays and advised them to plan their journeys ahead of time. A council statement on X said: "An Orange Order parade will take place in Kilbirnie this Saturday, 28 June. "The parade, which may attract up to 3,000 participants, is scheduled to start at 11.30am at the public park and will make its way to the town centre. Therefore, please plan any journeys, as there is likely to be disruption to traffic." Flute bands are preparing for the march, including the Newton Defenders Flute Band, who wrote on social media: "Next parade for the band is our 'Big Ayrshire walk'. "This year's main parade takes place in Kilbirnie. The band will continue our long-standing friendship with Scotlands own Volunteers LOL 330. "The band hope the worthy master, officers and brothers enjoy the day. We look forward to many more years walking with the lodge that the band has such strong connections with."
