Cupid's arrow struck fast with Love Is Blind UK's season two contestants Ashleigh Berry and Billy Jervis Jr, as the pair found an instant connection on the dating show. With their shared military background, they hit it off immediately once they met. Ashleigh – whose nickname is 'Combat Barbie' – is a former Army Cadet, while former Army veteran Billy now works as an instructor in the Royal Army Physical Training Corps.
It came as no surprise then that by the end of the second episode, they became the first couple to get engaged.
As of the end of the first four episodes, Ashleigh and Billy are still together. We're hoping that their relationship will continue to grow stronger and that they will walk up the aisle, given that their path to true love seems to have been smooth so far. But as we know with past series, anything can happen. Their Army involvement brought Ashleigh, 30, and Billy, 35, together from the beginning and gave them that immediate spark and connection, which only grew stronger the more they spoke in the Pods. Straight off, they opened up to each other, showing their vulnerable sides: Ashleigh revealed she hasn't dated in over four years after her previous relationship 'knocked who she was', while Billy spoke about his divorce five years ago and is looking to find his forever person.
Despite their strong foundation, a hiccup in their early relationship came when Billy expressed his doubts about her career as a cabin crew manager, as her job required her to be away from home for long periods. He admitted his fears stem from his previous marriage with a flight attendant, which ended because they lived separate lives due to their conflicting work schedules. Ashleigh reassured him by saying she is open to switching to a more traditional 9-to-5 job if and when they have a family, which is enough to assuage him.
As their relationship grew, Ashleigh gives Billy a thimble, a souvenir she collects from every travel destination, and is meant as a symbol of the adventure they're embarking on together. He is so moved by the gift that he tells her he loves her – the first time he has said those words since he was married. She reciprocates the phrase, and they become the first couple to get engaged in this series.

Their connection only grows stronger when they meet in person. With a clear attraction to each other, they twirled each other around at the in-person reveal as they take in their match for the first time. Billy called his new fiancee a 'knock-out' and she's full of admiration for his abs and legs. After sharing their first kiss, Ashleigh revealed, 'Billy's a good kisser', as she jumped on the sofa like a giddy teenager.
Their loved-up bliss continued when they went to Cyprus for the week-long post-pod retreat, where they explored their real-life chemistry and deepened their emotional connection. 'You're my type every day of the week and twice on Sundays,' Billy told Ashleigh. Clearly very happy with each other's physical selves, they can't keep their hands off each other and compliment each other's physiques throughout the trip.
Life seems to be going well for the couple, even when they meet up with the other couples, with no signs of jealousy or red flags.
