Noel Gallagher's daughter gives verdict on Oasis gig after mum walks out mid-set

Noel and Liam Gallagher returned to stage for the first time in 16 years and Noel's daughter Anais Gallagher had five words for her father's performance
Noel Gallagher's daughter, Anais, summed up her dad's legendary Oasis reunion concert in just five words. The show, which brought the house down in Cardiff last night, marked the first time in 16 years that Noel and his younger brother Liam shared the stage in the Welsh capital and their devoted fans, lucky enough to get tickets, were not disappointed.
Among them was proud daughter Anais. The 25-year-old attended the gig, posting a photo of herself wearing an Oasis shirt and holding a pint while watching her dad and uncle perform on stage.

She captioned the picture with a simple review of the unforgettable evening: "It's good to be back."

Fans were quick to respond to her post, with many agreeing. With one reply writing: "It was amazing, epic, hope you enjoyed it" while another simply stating: "EPIC!"
Anais' mum Meg Matthews - who was married to Noel from 1997 to 2001 - was also in the audience, the Mirror reports. However, she was seen leaving the reunion concert before the band performed Wonderwall. The song might be a tough one for Meg, as Noel once said she was the inspiration behind it.
A number of well-known celebrities were spotted in the crowd during Oasis's long awaited comeback tour, a reunion many fans have hoped for over the past decade.
The band were seen walking onto the stage with their song 'F**king in the Bushes' before they then started playing 'Hello'. The sold-out crowd greeted them with cheers as they kicked off a global tour for the Gallagher brothers.

In the crowd were the likes of EastEnders star Danny Dyer and Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure. Vernon Kay was also spotted taking photos outside the Principality Stadium.
"Hey, beautiful people, it's been too long," Liam greeted the enthusiastic audience, which also featured Glastonbury founder Emily Eavis.
Liam thanked the 70,000 fans who attended the first reunion gig in Cardiff for 'putting up with them over the years'. The singer and his brother Noel had been locked in a bitter feud for 16 years, leading many fans to lose hope that Oasis would ever reunite for another tour.

However, they shocked the world last year when they announced they would be embarking on an epic reunion tour. Cardiff was blessed with the first gig on Friday night, with Noel and Liam holding hands and raising them to the sky as they walked onto the stage.
Hits like Champagne Supernova, Supersonic and Slide Away were performed, with Noel pausing for a few bars during Half The World Away to take in the incredible atmosphere before him.

After Oasis left the stage at the end of the set, the crowd stomped and cheered, demanding an encore.
The band returned to perform The Masterplan, Don't Look Back In Anger, and Wonderwall before Liam expressed his gratitude to the fans.
Clearly energised from the last two and half hours on stage, he shouted: "Thank you, beautiful people. This is it. Nice one for putting up with us over the years. We are hard work, we get it."

Andy Murray teases with Wimbledon request after getting one over on Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz will hope to lift the Wimbledon title for the third year in a row this summer, a feat which would see him go ahead of Andy Murray in terms of wins at the Grand Slam Andy Murray has suggested he's had the upper hand against Carlos Alcaraz – not on the tennis court, but on the golf course. Young Spaniard Alcaraz, who is set to face Andrey Rublev in a fourth-round clash on the courts of SW19 come Sunday, has been indulging in his love for golf alongside his Wimbledon three-peat attempt. ‌ Having already dispatched Italy's Fabio Fognini, Britain's Oliver Tarvet and Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff, the 22-year-old is now preparing for a showdown with Russia's Rublev. However, it's not just tennis that's been keeping Alcaraz busy; the sensation who shares a passion for golf with Murray, has been hitting the greens as well. ‌ Since hanging up his tennis racket last summer, Murray has developed an obsession with golf, and it seems he's been sharing some rounds with Alcaraz. The pair hit the links before Wimbledon kicked off, and after his victory over Struff, Alcaraz let slip the results of their golfing duel during an on-court interview with Annabel Croft. With a grin, Alcaraz responded to Croft's probing about the friendly rivalry, saying: "He said to you to ask this question, right? I know, I know, because he beat me that day. But then, a few days later, we played again and I beat him, so it's 1-1. We're tied." Asked about scheduling another game, Alcaraz added: "Let's see. I love playing golf on my days off. I know he has a busy schedule so I guess I will try to set it up a round again of nine holes. We have to see who wins because we're tied 1-1, so I have to play again, absolutely." It appears the rubber match happened last Saturday, as hinted by Murray's cheeky update on social media. He wrote on X: "We played the deciding match this afternoon... maybe ask him what happened after the next match," alongside a wink emoji. Meanwhile, on Instagram, he added: "I'll let him tell you the outcome after the next match." Despite potentially feeling the sting from the golf course loss, Alcaraz is in fine form on the tennis court, extending his winning run to 21 matches. Asked if he was playing the best tennis of his career, the ATP No. 2 said (via the Mirror): "Yeah, I think so. "It wasn't the best tennis the whole 21 matches that I've won. But I think I maintain myself really, really calm in the tough moments in those 21 matches that I won in a row. "But yeah, I think I play a really good tennis lately. Really high confidence right now. "But yeah, as I say many, many times, I think when you approaching the matches, I doing in a really great way, that I'm really happy about. And during those matches I've saved really difficult moments. So I'm going to say that, yeah."

Oasis fans say gig-goer 'didn't deserve' ticket as they spot what she's doing

More info Oasis fans worldwide who missed out on tickets for their Live '25 tour watched with envy as the highly anticipated reunion gigs kicked off in Cardiff on Friday (July 4). However, one fan who was present at the concert faced criticism for not recognising one of the biggest hits of the 90s. Liam and Noel Gallagher delighted Oasis fans at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on both Friday and Saturday (July 5) with a setlist packed with smash hits including Wonderwall, Supersonic, and Don't Look Back in Anger. They were supported by Cast and Richard Ashcroft, who warmed up the audience before the brothers took to the stage for the first time in 16 years. However, one fan in the crowd was caught on camera using the app Shazam to identify a hugely popular hit from the 90s - leading to some irate comments on social media questioning why she had bought a ticket. READ MORE - Oasis fans spot Liam Gallagher's heartwarming tribute to 'newest family member' READ MORE - Oasis fans 'devastated' over major omission from reunion tour setlist A TikTok account dedicated to both Oasis and Richard Ashcroft posted a video of The Verve frontman performing the band's biggest hit, Bitter Sweet Symphony, during the opening night of the tour on Friday. The video then sweeps across the crowd, most of whom were singing along to the well-known track, before focusing on one woman who had the Shazam app open on her phone. Shazam can identify a song just by listening to it and is widely used by people to find details about tracks playing in shops or even on adverts, reports the Mirror. Social media was abuzz with bafflement over a woman's apparent cluelessness regarding the 1997 anthem 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' at an Oasis gig, with some calling for the iconic tune to be hailed as the UK's "national anthem". The TikTok account quipped on the video: "Did they just Shazam the national anthem?". And further jibed in the caption: "Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time." Many commenters chimed in, airing their disgruntlement that fans more worthy and knowledgeable did not nab tickets to the sold-out shows, arguing that some gig-goers were undeserving for not being word-perfect on major Britpop hits. (Image: PA) (Image: AFP via Getty Images) (Image: AFP via Getty Images) One irked fan vented: "There's no way I lost tickets to someone Shazaming one of the most popular songs of the Britpop era." Another incredulously remarked: "How are you going to an Oasis gig not knowing Bitter Sweet Symphony?". Even Jedward's official account plunged into the debate, stating unequivocally: "If you don't know Bitter Sweet Symphony, we can't be friends." Nonetheless, some defended the woman's position, underscoring that she was there for Oasis, not necessarily versed in the repertoire of supporting acts, however famous they might be considered. A sympathiser put forth: "Concerts were originally made for people to discover new music, not for die-hard fans who know every song; this is actually really valid of her." One person advocated for a more laid-back approach: "Going to a concert and not knowing all of the songs is normal, calm down." Meanwhile, Oasis enthusiasts were left "heartbroken" following the band's 23-song setlist in Cardiff this weekend, with one fan-favourite track notably absent from the running order.

Oasis fans 'devastated' over major omission from reunion tour setlist

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Oasis made a spectacular comeback after a 16-year hiatus, launching their Live '25 tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4), but the lack of one beloved anthem in the setlist left fans feeling bitterly disappointed. The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, transported an ecstatic audience back in time with a nostalgic lineup of 23 Oasis hits, performing together for the first time since their dramatic split in 2009. Anthems such as Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, Live Forever, and Wonderwall all featured prominently on the night. However, given their rich back catalogue, it was bound to happen that some crowd favourites wouldn't make the cut, which left many concert-goers feeling "devastated" by the absence of their top picks. READ MORE - Oasis fans spot Liam Gallagher's heartwarming tribute to 'newest family member' READ MORE - Fiona Phillips' marriage breakdown and secret split from husband exposed Maxi Gonzalez, a die-hard Oasis aficionado, posted the concert's setlist on social media platform X, where it quickly drew a flood of responses from like-minded fans dissecting the song choices. The comment section was chock-full of disappointment, with many bemoaning the absence of beloved tracks such as Columbia, The Importance of Being Idle, and Don't Go Away from the evening's musical showcase, reports the Mirror. Yet, it was the missing Lyla, their smash hit from 2005, that struck a particular chord with the fans, sparking debates among them, with several arguing it should have secured a spot within the illustrious 23-song roster. One fan expressed regret: "Lyla would have been the biggest sing-along in history." Another voiced their opinion on the perfect setlist tweak: "Take out Bring It On Down for Lyla and it's perfect." Oasis made the decision to exclude their 2002 hit 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' from their set, a track that has since become one of the band's most globally celebrated songs. Other crowd-pleasers like 'Songbird' and 'She's Electric' were also missing from the live show. In fact, the band played just one song from their 2002 album 'Heathen Chemistry', 'Little By Little'. The rest of the setlist was dominated by tracks from their first three albums: 'Definitely Maybe', '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and 'Be Here Now', as well as B-sides from the era between 1994 and 1997. Many fans have recognised that Oasis simply has "too many good songs" to please everyone with their setlist. Some have speculated that the band may mix up the set for future tour dates, suggesting that the lineup of songs could change.
