Glen Powell's ex breaks silence on Sydney Sweeney dating rumours: 'I wasn't OK with it. I was fed to the dogs'

Cosmopolitana day ago

Glen Powell's ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris is finally breaking her silence on those Sydney Sweeney rumours.
Quick reminder before we get into it: Speculation about Glen and Sydney kicked off when they were filming Anyone But You, when Glen was also going through his breakup with Gigi.
At the time, a source told People: "They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia, they both decided to break up for good."
The insider added: "It wasn't about infidelity. She's on different coasts modeling; he's on different coasts filming. When she left, they were on great terms."
Meanwhile, Gigi posted THIS:
Cut to now, and Gigi said on the Too Much podcast (via People): "I had two options. I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, like, 'Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she okay with this? What the f**k?' Or stand up for myself and say, 'No, I'm actually not okay with this, and I'm walking away.' So that's what I decided to do....I was shattered."
"I just wanted respect, especially if it's gonna be public," she added. "Like, don't make an ass out of me. Like, just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years talking about forever with. Just have some decency, you know? And at the end of the day, it was like, well, work comes first. And if that's the case, power to you, that's your priority. I gotta walk away. What sucked was how it was handled. I felt like I was just fed to the dogs."
She added: "Where are you when you just need to stand up and say, 'No, I would never cheat on my girlfriend. I wouldn't do that.' That's all that needed to be said. And that wasn't said....Never once. It was serving them for their PR. Later on, it turned out that it was all, I don't know if there was a relationship there or not, but then they came out to say it was all a PR scheme at the expense of our relationship. Like, it was just crazy. Just to sell a movie or not, who knows? And I honestly hoped that they'd end up together, because I was, like, at least it would make it worth it for me, you know? I hope they are in love or whatnot."
FYI, Glen opened up about leaning into the romance rumours with Sydney during an interview with Insider, saying: "Well, look, the only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour."
He and Sydney have since spent time together (she showed up to a family wedding!), but they aren't dating. Although an Us Weekly source implied that their vibes also impacted Sydney's relationship with her fiancé: "Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars. It's a tough dynamic for Jonathan."

Tom Cruise Reportedly Learned an Important Lesson About His Relationship to Scientology After Backlash

Over the years, Tom Cruise has consistently been one of the most celebrated yet private celebrities in Hollywood. After all, while his fans might know the ins and outs of his impressive stunts in movies like Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, he's managed to keep his private life very much under wraps. And, according to new sources, it all makes sense considering his ties to the Church of Scientology. According to PR expert Evan Nierman to Us Weekly, Cruise has intentionally scaled back on his public involvement with Scientology since backlash against the Church increased in the past few years (largely due to Leah Remini's accusations of harassment and abuse). More from SheKnows Leah Remini Reveals How the Church of Scientology Has Targeted Her 'Petrified' Daughter 'I think Tom Cruise learned his lesson with the discussion and uproar around Scientology that happened many years ago,' Nierman told the outlet. 'He's been very effective at not shining a light on that and instead letting the power of his films and his stunt work speak for itself.' With that said, sources say his newfound silence isn't far from a sign that he's distancing himself from the Church itself. '[Tom's] been in a decades-long bromance with a controversial man [current church leader David Miscavige],' Marc Headley, a former Scientologist and author of Blown for Good: Behind the Iron Curtain of Scientology, revealed. 'Who cares if he still runs fast and jumps off stuff?' 'I suspect the more people knew about Tom Cruise's close relationship with Scientology, the less they would spend supporting him and his activities,' Headley stated. And, from the looks of it, Cruise is well aware of it! However, just last month, Cruise couldn't avoid his involvement in the Church when a peaceful protest of former Scientology members took place right next to the red carpet for the premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Their leader, 29‑year‑old Alex Barnes, who is publicly listed on Scientology's websites as an enemy of the group, livestreamed the demonstration, which lasted roughly ten minutes before officers swooped in, cuffed protesters, and searched their bags. Barnes later decried the incident as 'a completely unnecessary and excessive use of police force which temporarily restricted our rights to peaceful protest,' per The Sun, noting that he'd been neither approached nor asked why he and his group had gathered. 'It was absolutely not our intention to cause any sort of disruption. We just wanted to be heard.'Best of SheKnows 23 Celebrities Who Embodied the Boho Fashion Trend (& How It's Coming Back in 2025) 13 Best Family Photos of Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, & Their 3 Kids Keira Knightley's Best Hairstyles Over the Years, From 2001 to Today

Mom Thought Her Toddler Was Just Playing. Then Something Caught Her Eye (Exclusive)

One evening, Alex Moore was playing with her 23-month-old daughter, Addy They were being silly and listening to nursery rhymes when all of a sudden, Addy started dancing Alex watched as her daughter slid off the bed and began doing little high-kick stompsAlex Moore and her husband, Christian, both work full-time. So after wrapping up their workdays and picking up their daughter from daycare, the North Carolina-based couple likes to wind down by laying in bed to decompress. One evening, Christian went to make dinner while Alex stayed back to play with their 23-month-old daughter, Addy. They were being silly and listening to nursery rhymes when all of a sudden, Addy started dancing. Alex watched as her daughter slid off the bed and began doing little high-kick stomps. "I had no idea what she was doing until she said 'cha cha??' " Alex, 31, tells PEOPLE exclusively. Alex goes on to explain that her daughter learned the "Cha-Cha Slide" by DJ Casper at daycare. She says her teacher, Ms. Mikaila, plays the song often and has been teaching the kids the steps. Although Ms. Mikaila had previously sent Alex videos of Addy dancing along to the "Cha-Cha Slide" at daycare, this was the first time she had seen her daughter perform some of the correct steps in person — especially the stomping and the 'hands on your knees' move. "She was walking around stomping her feet with almost a high-kick fashion, and I kept giggling because I'd never seen her stomp like that before," Alex, a aesthetics technician, says. In the moment, Alex pulled out her phone and recorded the sweet scene. Later, she decided to post it to TikTok, thinking, 'This is too good to not share with more people.' But then, the video quickly went viral, amassing more than 7.4 million views and 13,000 comments. "I knew she was demanding the cha cha slide at daycare' is in incredible statement in itself 😭," one user wrote. "and it is already knows her left and right ✅️❤️," someone else replied. Another person commented, "That's actually so impressive that she knows the cha cha slide at her age .. what an icon." Reading through the comments, Alex says she couldn't help but smile. "The kind of responses I've received from the video are the exact ones I was hoping," she says. " 'This made my day, thank you so much.' It was an added bonus to hear that my daughter could excel in a dance class, because what parent doesn't want to hear that their child has a knack for something?" "My daughter brings me so much joy every day, so I really loved that I could do that for other people," the mom adds. "Also hearing from other daycare employees that they'll start implementing the song into their classrooms for teaching directions, and dance teachers that she has amazing skills for her age — that feedback really stood out to me the most." Since her daughter is so young, Alex knows won't remember much from this time, but in teaching her about it in a few years, she hopes her daughter realizes that she made a lot of people smile when they felt like they couldn't. "Addy has taught me that children truly are like flowers: when they're given a loving environment, taught things with patience and in a fun way, they can blossom into the best versions of themselves," she says. "Along with truly being able to dance your little heart out when you feel it!" Read the original article on People

Lucille Ball Found Out She Was Pregnant When Her Medical Records Were Leaked During Radio Broadcast

Lucille Ball once learned she was pregnant while listening to a radio broadcast In his new book Desi Arnaz: The Man Who Invented Television, biographer Todd S. Purdum writes that Ball was on tour with her husband Desi Arnaz in June 1950 when she was listening to the radio in between shows The broadcaster then announced her pregnancy, after being tipped off by a medical lab stafferLucille Ball once found out she was pregnant not from her doctor — but from a radio broadcaster who had been tipped off by a medical lab staffer. In his new book Desi Arnaz: The Man Who Invented Television, biographer Todd S. Purdum writes that Ball was on tour with her husband Desi Arnaz in June 1950 when she learned about her pregnancy in between shows. At the time, Ball and Arnaz were starring in a vaudeville act that required an "exhausting schedule" and "vigorous physical stunts" from Ball. Off stage, they were trying for a baby. Writes Purdum: "In June 1950, during the New York run of their vaudeville show, Lucy was relaxing in her dressing room between shows listening to Walter Winchell's radio broadcast when she heard him announce she was 'infanticipating,' the columnist's lingo for 'pregnant.' He'd been tipped off by a medical lab informant before the Arnazes themselves had learned the news." The author writes that the couple, upon learning the news, then "trimmed the planned length of the tour," though it was in vain — just weeks later, Ball, suffered a miscarriage. Purdum writes in his book that Ball had more than one miscarriage during her marriage to Arnaz, with physicians ultimately discovering they had inadvertently closed a fallopian tube while treating her for one of the miscarriages. After reversing that procedure, Ball ultimately became pregnant again in 1950, at age 39. On July 17, 1951, Ball gave birth via caesarean section, to a baby girl: Lucie. Ball would later give birth a second time, in January 1953, to what was then arguably the most famous baby in America: Desi Jr. Desi Jr.'s birth came as the couple was starring in the now-iconic sitcom I Love Lucy, which premiered in 1951 and even incorporated their second child's birth. In interviews with the author, the now-adult children explained how different their parents were. Lucie recalled how her mother "took it personally" when one of the children would disappoint her. Desi, by contrast, "was not like that," she described. "He would get really angry and blow his stack, and be loud, but then he'd be done and it would be like it never happened," Lucie said, adding that Ball, by contrast, "would get personally offended by childhood behavior or what you said, because you should have known not to say that somehow, even though no one's taught you what to say." "And she would emotionally separate from you for however long she wanted to. And it would be sometimes days, sometimes weeks," she added. While audiences were delighted by his parents' relationship, Desi Jr. told Purdum that behind the scenes, Lucy and Desi were incredibly argumentative 'It wasn't good for anyone,' Desi Jr. told the author in the book. 'And we'll always remember when they sat us down and said, 'Look, you know, things aren't working.' I mean, I remember word for word.'
